Has Anyone Had A Bad Experiece After Surgery
I'm quite happy I was sleeved. It is definitely an adjustment to get used to, but I didn't have any bad experiences...the post-op pain was manageable, no complications, can eat any food without issues etc...

Ladies Only Question...
I lost about 80 lbs a few years ago (prior to sleeve, gained back). The girls became big empty sacs. Not a pretty sight at all. They looked a little better when I gained the weight back, but still not as good as they did before the yo-yoing. Now they have begun the deflation process again. It's a one of the things I'm really really not looking forward to with this process. I hope I will be able to afford, and dare to go through with, a great boob job once I'm finished losing. It's the only hope these girls have for looking half-way decent. Sexy thought, I know!

I Spiced Up My Protein Shake!
I have done that as well. I like to use the pumpkin pie spice that has cinnamon and nutmeg. So yummy. Another thing I like to do sometimes is to add a scoop of caffeine free instant coffee to my shakes. It's to die for!

Finding The Liquid Diet Easier To Handle?
I'm two and a half months out. I can eat anything I want...but, I often find myself still mostly sticking to my protein shakes and other liquids rather than eating solids. I tend to eat solids too quickly and not chew enough and end up feeling uncomfortable after eating so it's just easier to stick with liquids some days.

Soy Protein Vs Whey Protein?
Soy protein is fine. In some cases it is preferable.

Sugar Free Hard Candy After Sleeve?
I was told they were fine. Just be careful not to overdo it and not to swallow them.

Hello Y'all
Welcome!! It will go by faster than you think. In the meantime you can start learning as much as possible about the sleeve (I'm sure you already have been) and get on an exercise routine, find a protein shake you like etc...make good use of this time and your sleeve date will be here before you know it! Good Luck!!!

Not Being Able To Sleep
It took me several weeks to start sleeping normally again. The first two weeks post-op, I hardly slept at all. So while it may be frustrating, take heart in the fact that it is pretty common. It won't last forever. I hope you're sleeping soundly again soon!!

Afraid This May Not Work
I only lost 5 lbs on my pre-op diet. Yes, there are plenty of people losing faster than me, but you know what? I'm losing I figure it really doesn't matter how long it takes, as long as it keeps moving in the right direction. Good luck with your surgery, you will do just fine!

Getting Too Much Protein?
Are you taking a lot of antacids? They can have a negative effect on your kidneys.

Embarrassing....
I broke a chair in front of company...TWICE! Shame, embarrassment, humiliation. The worst feeling of my life. And to think I had to go through that twice before I had the courage to do WLS. I can't wait to get small enough that I never again think about whether a chair will hold me.

All The Single Ladies...
I'm 33 not married, no kids also. I totally understand what you mean about depressing and embarrassing. I'm not back on the dating scene yet, but here's to believing! We have to remember that we are worthy of love.

30 Lbs Down, Cholest. Down, Glucose Up?!? What The Heck ?
I understand your concern that your blood sugar went up. However going up from 101 to 103 is negligible. Two different meters or two different test sticks from the exact same blood sample at the same time could have given you this difference. In all reality, your blood sugar hasn't changed at all since you've been sleeved, it has remained stable. Also, a blood sugar level of 103 really isn't that bad. It's something to watch, but it isn't considered a diabetic result.

Breaking Out
Since I have been sleeved my skin has been breaking out with more pimples etc..It also just feels "yucky" in general (for lack of a better word to describe it). I know this is because of all the hormones wreaking havoc in my body right now (don't even ask about the effect this has had on my TOM). My question is, what have others done to minimize the breakouts and make their skin feel soft and smooth?

Stomach Size
The poster is following their doctor's guidelines. It isn't up to you to determine whether they are progressing too fast. The doctor likely has a lot more training and experience than you do. BTW, laughing cow cheese is quite soft! There is absolutely no chewing required with that cheese. It bothers me that the poster was asking whether they were eating too much food and if shakes count towards liquids, but most everyone jumped on the fact that they think at seven days out they shouldn't be consuming certain things. People need to understand that every surgeon has different guidelines and just because you may have been required to do something different doesn't mean that someone else is doing it wrong. We should be here to support each other, not to tear each other down.

Stomach Size
To answer your question about whether you have an oversized sleeve, I doubt it. When I was still eating purees and very soft foods like cheese wedges it seemed like I could eat quite a bit before the restriction was felt. However, when you get on solid foods you will notice it very quickly. Also in the first few weeks your stomach is kind of numb both because of the trauma and swelling and also because a lot of the nerves were cut during the surgery. When my tummy was still numb I could eat more without discomfort than I can now at nine weeks out because I feel everything now. Don't worry, I think you will find everything working as it should be.
