Had Surgery On 7/27/12, Looking For The Same
I had mine on 7/27. I didn't come home from the hospital until Monday, doing ok, but keep running low grade fever. How are you doing?

Before And After Pics
You look fantastic!

Help! Soda During Pre-Op Liquid?
I was allowed to drink soda during pre-op, but only diet soda! Sprite zero really helped get the magnesium citrate down the night before surgery.

Breathing
Yes, I have been breathing into the device (probably just not enough) and walking. It is comforting to hear that I'm not the only one that has had this problem. How long did it take yours to resolve?

Breathing
My surgery was Friday, the 27th of July and I just came home from the hospital tonight. I am having some pretty intense pain when trying to breathe deeply. Could this just be gas?

Sooooo Ticked! Should I Laugh Or Cry! Bmi 39.18!
I have Blue Cross AL and was approved with BMI 38.7. I do have type 2 diabetes, but that is my only other co-morb. On the sixth month "diet", I went up and down. My pcp warned me not to lose too much if I wanted the surgery. I was approved the same day they submitted it.

Today Is My Day
Congrats! I'm not far behind you...let us know how it goes!

Frustrated Urhhh ... Venting..
Uhm, I dealt with the same type thing! I was told I would be able to have my surgery by the last week in June, but the whole paperwork/submitting stuff/communication between doctors really slowed things down! I started this process in November of '11. I literally had to call doctors offices everyday for three weeks to get things done! I feel your pain! My surgery is a week from today, so now it feels totally worth it!

Ww (Weight Watchers)
Check with your insurance provider to be sure. With mine, you could do WW, but still had to see the doctor once a month. I just did the doctor diet, it was cheaper : )

First Day Of Pre-Op Diet
Today's my first day on pre-op. I'm doing o.k., but it's only 8:30 in the morning! I haven't had to eat yet : ) I keep telling myself, "One good choice at a time!" Easier said than done!

5 More Days!
Oh, you are lucky! You can have bingets (SP?) in New Orleans!

5 More Days!
Exciting! Mine is a week from today...so today starts my pre-op diet! How are you doing on your pre-op diet? Is it harder/easier than you expected?

Foster Children
That is an EXCELLENT idea! Thanks!

Vitamin D
I had low Vit. D also. Finally got my levels up to normal range, but it took a while (and a trip to the beach)!

Foster Children
Thanks for the replies...and the honesty! Mina, the stories of people crying at the table is really what scares me! As it is now, I really wouldn't have to cook. It's just me and my husband (he can fend for himself ; ) This would really throw a wrench in that area. I'm really counting on being one of those people that aren't tempted. I really believe I'll be o.k. if I stay prepared with foods I can have on hand. I always run into trouble with my eating when I'm not prepared! I go for the quick (and unhealthy) stuff!

Foster Children
The agency knows what is going on, they really wanted me to take them August 1! if things aren't going well after surgery, I'll call them and see if they can hold off some more. I hate for them to come at a time when I'm not at my best, but I also hate for them to be sent to a group home. Terrible timing!

No Longer Obese
Congrats! That is wonderful progress!

How I"m Doing 10 Months Later...

Foster Children
So I am scheduled to have surgery on July 27th and found out today I will be getting two foster children (elementary age girls) 7 days after surgery. Just need some advice, is this going to be "do able"?

Help I've Been So Lazy
I haven't been sleeved yet, but have the same trouble you do about planning meals! I have been thinking since breakfast is so hard for me, protein shakes may become my "go to" breakfasts.

Abnormal Ekg
I don't personally know, I hope you get answers soon!

The Opportunity Cost Of Weight Loss Surgery
Very thoughtful and well written! I totally agree...it is easy to only look at the exciting aspects of getting our new tool without slowing down to think about how we will cope with the negative aspects of it.

Any Sleevers With Pcos?
My RE wants to start 6 months out also. My surgeon said the reason they recommend 1-2 years is to maximize weight loss. He said it wouldn't harm the baby. I am 36 and I think the RE is concerned about time/egg quantity and quality. I'm facing the same tough decision.

Possibly November! Cant Wait
Congrats! You'll be jumping through all of those "hoops" in no time! There are lots of supportive people on here, I think you'll enjoy it. I've become addicted to this site!

When Can I Take Vitamin Tablets?
My surgeon recommends two Flintones (or similar) chewable vitamins for post op.
