  1. Just jumping in to let you know Diane's hubby called and said she came out of surgery fine and the doctor said she's doing great. Hugs __________________
  2. Diane's hubby just called and said Diane's doing fine, that the doctor said she did great.
  3. Diane, just wanted to let you know we're thinking about you and by the time you read this, you'll be in Band Land ....woohoo!
  4. Congratulations Judy! Dr. T did my surgery almost 3years ago. I wish you the best on your band journey.
  5. Kat, I'm sure you'll arrive at 39 in due time, LOL. Mandy, congrats on the job, hope you're as happy a few months from now. Diane, you'll be fine and I'm sure you haven't forgotten a thing. I'm not much of a candy person, but hide the bag of cheese crunchies. I really do think I need a fill, I don't usually get hungry until days end, but boy can I a lot of what I can eat, does that make sense, haha.
  6. Good morning girlies, BURRRR, it's 37 degrees here this AM, I actually broke down and switched the thermostats from AC to Heat. Diane SG, I'm so excited for you, I think I'll schedule a fill . Later girls, I'll be back with pictures of the new boat.
  7. Diane-SG, (signgirl)Nov 16th, that's my anniversary....the marriage one, lol, 39 LONG years. Diane, SS (sunset), wow how special is that. Hugs every one, gotta run.
  8. Janine, that's a great idea, next time one of us is in the office, we can ask or maybe even call Kat and have her get in touch with Zannie and ask her to call one of us.
  9. Donna, Zannie, hmmmm, where are you?
  10. Hey Cindy, eye surgery scheduled for Jan 25, unless there's a cancellation. Glad to see you sit a spell with us. Well let me share one of my fav recipes, Go to your local BJ's, pick up a box of tortilla crusted tilapia, stuffed with crab meat, a frozen bag of Green Giant mixed veggies, and a frozen bag of sliced squash. Pop the fish into a toaster oven at 350, or use one of those real ones if you have to, while the veggies and squash are cooking in the microwave (mixed together), stir every now and then. When the fish is done, serve with the veggies and squash, a little ranch dressing for dipping, and a can of pork n beans, yep, there's a great cook in all of us, just bursting to get out .
  11. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, you both look fabulous!
  12. Sherry, 3-4 days of liquids, are you kidding me, I only have to do liquids for 24 hours after a fill. It's amazing how differently doctors approach things. Hey, as for that ice cream, once you swallow it, it's instant liquid, (IMO).
  13. Kat, I'm very proud of the positive attitude you've taken, here I am all upset because I've got to be put to sleep to get my eye lids and weakened eye muscles repaired. If I was there, I'd give you a great big old bear hug. You're a remarkable person, and I mean that sincerely. Diane, (signgirl), you're getting closer and closer and closer. I never knew that about pineapple juice, although, I did read that eating pineapple blocks fat from being dissolved. Hugs gfriends.
  14. Donna, where are you, we want to know how you are! Heather, I can eat salsa by the spoon fulls, without problems, (which may be a little chunkier than marinara),just gotta chew, chew, chew. As for sodas, the carbonation is bad for the band, so why take the chance, maybe if you let it sit and go flat, but then what's the point, LOL. I haven't had a soda in almost 3 yrs, hard to believe diet coke use to run through these veins....
  15. Darcy, hugs back to you, get ur a$$ in her more often, u pogo freak, LOL. I see you all the time, because I'm ther eall the time. Leave the leaves, they'll either blow away, or they will be covered up tomorrow anyway. Kat, we're waiting with you. Betty, whatcha cooking, I had fried oysters, yummmm. Some of the twice, once on the way down and once on the way back, ewwwwwwww. Patty and Mandy, good luck on the jobs.
  16. Welcome Tracey, so glad to have you on board the VA site. Be sure to visit the NJ site, lots of fun ladies, not all from NJ either. You'll find lots of great information and great people here.
  17. Gina, Dr. T is usually the one who insists on a smidgen, because I have such a fear of being too tight. If the needle goes in, yes, it's a fill. I've only had two done under flouro, one was done at PortWarwick in NN, the other at Sentara in Hpt. My first year, since I was self pay was included in the cost of the surgery, all of which were done in his office. My last fill was Jun 14, seems like every time I get ready to make appt for another fill, I have a very restricted day. Like today, I was busy and forgot to eat, then stopped at Wendy's tonight and got chili, which gave me a fit. I gave it a rest, then ate the salad instead, with no problems. Dr. T wants me to see me in Dec for my 3yr anniv for a check, but if I do that, I'll prob get a fill instead. I've only had 2 fills in the last 2 years. Donna, I'm so excited for you, I don't know if you read the thread where I said I drove myself to the hospital the day of surgery, (I was not only his first surgery of the day, but his first lapband patient). I had DH and my mom meet me there just before I was whisked away. Had the surgery on a Monday, discharged on Tuesday, first stop 7-11 for coffee Is that 5:30 am or pm? Glad I was scheduled early, but would have preferred getting to the hospital around 8:00 I didn't need a pillow, just dared DH to drive crazy, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. Big Big Hugs!
  18. Gina, sounds like you're right on track, new hairdo and all. What size band do you have? I have the smaller 4cc band, if I had to guess, I would say my last fill was maybe my 5th fill, and that was at 2.5 years. I insist on smidgens, as Dr. T calls them. Congrats on finding the sweet spot, hopefully it will last for a long time, WTG. Diane, had to laugh at the goblins in the operating room, too funny. Get your painting done? Donna, Tuesday, how great is that! You've got to be thrilled and apprehensive t the same time. You'll be fine. Janine, it's amazing how those crispy things will slide right down, but maybe you got a potato or pasta that wasn't quite chewed enough. I don't do well with potatoes or beef or pasta, unless it's my DNL's pasta salad, then it's the thin spaghetti with lots of Italian dressing, yummmm. All this talk about food, now I've got the munchies. Later gals.
  19. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I was banded on a Monday too, my only regret was I didn't eat that cheeseburger, on Saturday.
  20. a. Are you throwing up every time you eat and did it just start or did it start after the fill? b. Are you exercising? do you feel restriction..relate back to "a". If you've just started throwing up that could be an indication of slippage, my advice, if in doubt, call your doctor!
  21. Just dropping in to offer a quick good morning. Eileenie, glad you reminded me, we have a local seafood fest going on this weekend. They sell a lot of crafts, which I'm NOT into at all, been there done that. I use to collect ducks, OMG, my DH went out and got me dishes, pots, bowls, glasses, cups, platters, and silverware with freaking ducks, all the same pattern. When I opened it all I said, "wow, that sure is a lot of ducks". I think that was the last year we exchanged Christmas gifts, cause I took everything back, everything. He was so pissed because he'd spent all this time buying this stuff. Oh well, one of the best decisions we ever made, no more trying to find something for a man that either already has it or can go get it if he wants it AND, I don't have to spend all that time taking the chit back yea! What is a smart globe? What was wrong with it, wasn't smart enough for ya? Kat, my DH's middle name is "more", as in more is better. If he's putting down grass seed and it calls for 100 lbs, he'll use 200, it gets in the flower beds, the mulch, what a pain in the a$$. Diane, I didn't have the "oh what have I done" until day 3, my son was eating a big plate of chicken chow mien and it smelled so good, I almost cried, then I logged in and someone reminded me, it's only temporary, you will be able to eat again. The pig pickin was awesome last night, I have to share with y'all, I happened to observe, everyone had pretty much eaten and was pretty heavy into the drinking and dancing, then I looked around the food tables, and there was the heaviest lady at the picking, still pickin. I thought, that would have been me three years ago, instead of partying, I'd have been concentrating on the food. It felt so good to walk by most of the food (couldn't resist the clam chowder, all the good stuff was on the bottom, so I got all the broth I wanted). Ok ladies, I've rambled enough. As far as editing, I use the google tool bar, which includes the spell check and use that before I make a long post like this one. It always lets me know what a dumb a$$ I am. OMG, would u believe I just tried to spell until with two l's, LMAO. Hugs everyone!
  22. Sherry, that was a lot of typing, you made me tired just reading it, LOL. I hope your son's mess gets straightened out, maybe she's got the hots for your son, ya never know. Have a great day.
  23. KAT, found this in another thread, this may be what happened to the key board, LMAO "LOL HarleyNana---my DH is only begining to use the computer very much---and when he types he does the old hunt and peck, and he "pecks" HARD!!! I tell him he even types loud, he ALWAYS has the TV blaring!!! Maybe all the testosterone is plugging up their ears.....man it was hard to say that and not something TOTALLT naughty!!! Kat Now send him out to get you a new key board ASAP __________________
  24. Just remember liquids in, liquids out .
  25. I don't ever want to eat Jello again, LOL. My favorite was refried Beans and sour cream from Taco Bell, I lived on that during mushy stage. I hate milk, so I didn't do Protein shakes until I was over two years past band date. Now I can tolerate them....a little, but without milk, unless it's a milkshake, lol. There are several very informative threads in the food section that have lots of info. Good luck on your journey.
