    Beef Liver!

    Years ago when I was only 17 and working and living on my own I needed to cut cost as much as possible. Ramein noodles get old quick so I started eating beef liver sandwiches because they only cost 28 cents a pound at the time. I recently went back and found that at only about 100-130 cals, 7-11 carbs, and high protein at 27-30 gr ( depends on how it is cooked) it has made my way back into my diet as a low carb very high protein meal.
  2. We used to always order thoose gourmet pastries, candies and cakes around the holidays. Still placed our order this year but all meats, nuts and cheeses. A treat still can be healthy and filling.

    Things Tummy Doesn't Like

    I must have a stomach of steel. The only thing that has bothered me is when eating meat. If it is to fatty I find that later I will reguritate just the fat but not the meat. Sounds gross but at least I can keep the meat protein down. I am only 2 months out and have to really watch my portions already. If I do not measure each with a cup I could keep going to a extent. Short honey moon I guess.
  4. Everyone is different but a general rule, the heavier the person and sticking to it the more they might lose. I did 3 weeks and lost 40lbs. just saying.

  6. Went on a mini stall for the past week and started to worry about goal. Woke up this morning and weighed in with 2 pound loss. I'll take it. Weight before surgery 505 Surgery date 09/05/2012 Current weight 422 Goal weight 420 Just 2 more pounds to go, come on turtle!

    Super Saturday Weigh In

    Have been on a mini stall all week with no loss. Then got on scale this morning and dropped 2 more pounds from 424 to 422. Go turtle go.
  8. So pretty much have been cruising through this with losing about a pound to apound an half per day. Then wham for the last week not one ounce loss. I kept reading about stalls but figured it could not happen to me or at least for awhile. Still debating as to wether to change up some part of my eating habit ( 800-900 cals, 40 carbs, 30 fat, 100 protein daily average amounts). Or should I just keep doing as this and wait it out?

    Somebody Suggestion A Good Protein Bar?!

    Careful of the ones with sugar alcohols. For some people they create excess gas or stomach cramps. I ended up with two days of gas. Learned the hard way.

  11. I agree, powerade zero is perfect for us. I really like the fruit punch one.
  12. Just measuring cups. A 1/4 cup for nuts or egg whites in the mourning, 1/2 for meats, and 1 cup for sauces like chili or soup. Quick and simple.

    Super Saturday Weigh In

    Only lost 4lbs this week so standing at 424 today.
  15. Have some fun. Tell them you are on the new fad doughnut diet. Their looks would be priceless.

  17. Bingo! Same here, but last Summer went into a fib for 4 months. So went from to strong a heart which was double the normal size to a weak heart now. Lab tests always have shown perfect health just have a bad heart. I even had open heart surgery at 31 where part of the heart muscle was cut out to weaken the heart. Docs said I would be lucky to make 3-4 years. I am now 45 so they don't know squat.

    How Many Carbs

    I would really like to know also as many people say they hit around 30-40. But I am constantly hitting around 50 carbs. Is this to high?

    Road Trip, Need Some Take Along Food Ideas !

    Maybe a few protein bars. I have picked up a case of Quest bars for our Disney trip. They store well and in a pinch a good for a meal replacement. Do not forget a protein powder or drinks and a shaker cup. Quick protein and helps balance a day.

    Anyone Have Suggestions For A Liquid Diet?

    Margarita's and whiskey sours but the Doc probably would not agree with this liquid diet. But seriously I drank about a gallon a day of crystal lite. Mix up the flavors so your taste buds don't get bored. And 2 Protein drinks a day. Then in the evenings I used unjury chicken soup as a treat. The headaches went away after a couple of days and the hunger will subside to a point the further along you get.

    How Often Do You Eat?

    3 meals and 2 snacks so about 2-3 hours apart.
  23. Weight today is 428 I have 8 more pounds to go but if I hit it early I will add another 10 like (It's all new)

    Super Saturday Weigh In

    Weighed in at 435 last week and tipped the scale at 428 today. So 7 pounds lost this past week. A pound a day and the turtle is still going.
