Okay, can ANYONE tell that they did NOT suffer with gas pains after surgery? I am not fearing the incisions, I am fearing the pain from the entrapped gas!

Mine is Monday and everything is stressing. I know I am just worried about the surgery and pain, but this is crazy. I cannot find my cell phone and it is freaking me out...now...you need to know this about me, I am not a cell phone addict. I turn it on when it benefits me, but, I am upset and it is absolutely silly! I have posted some pleas for help, but only a couple of people have responded to my questions and pleas. I feel alone.

This is day 12 of my preop diet. I have stayed on my protein drinks and typically 600-800 calories a day, yet, the over the last two days I have GAINED a pound each. If this is what I have to look forward to after the surgery, I am not sure I should go through with this procedue. Why am I not losing? I lost 9lbs in 10 days, but then gained.

I hope I am like you. Did you stay overnight? I am outpatient, so I do not get to stay the night.

I am a psychologist and I agree. There is absolutely no shame in seeking professional help. Support online is good for physcial symptoms, but if you are battling serious emotional problems you should seek help. Believe me, I know what you are going through.

I have had a pain in my shoulders, neck and head for the past two days. I am 3 days until surgery and really concerned about the pain. I have taken everything I can take. I do not know if it is because I have been on a liquid diet for 11 days, or if it is stress related. I do not really feel anxious about the surgery, rather I am very excited. Has anyone else had headaches before the surgery?

Thank you! The trick is to stay very hydrated while on the liquid diet.

I finally got rid of the headache. I drank a lot of fluids and took a Xanax for anxiety, that seemed to relax my neck, & shoulders, and gave me some relief.

when is your surgery

I had caffeine withdrawal for the first three days, but this is day 11 of the liquid diet preop. I am hoping that it will be gone before Sunday when I do the all clear diet. How was your surgery experience?

It sounds like you are doing everything right! Congrats on the consistent weight loss. My surgery is May 7th, this coming Monday. It is so encouraging to hear people like you talk about your success in losing weight. So many on her say they are gaining weight or having all kinds of other problems. I am still happy to read their posts though, because who knows, I may be one of those people having problems too. I see your handle says you are a teacher! What a great example for your students. Ghrelin is a hormone, it is not something that grows back. From what I understand, suffering from head hunger is real; however, I have not heard of anyone being really hungry that soon after the surgery. I know we may feel weak, which is a sign of hunger, but real hunger pains should not exist anymore. I will be interested in following your blog to see how you are doing. My surgery is on Monday, May 7th. My biggest fear is the pain from gas after the surgery. Did you have a hard time with the trapped gas?

Wow you have lost 78lbs since April 9th? My procedure is May 7th! Please tell your hubby I said congrats and good luck!
