  1. I was sleeved by Dr Ortiz 4/24/12. When researching I did not find a lot on information on here about him either but there were sure a lot of people being seen at his clinic when I arrived there. All of us did great and never had any pain or complications. I was very satisfied with my surgery.
  2. I am 4/24 as well, down about 65 pounds, finding these last 15 pounds very elusive...but am very pleased to be wearing a size 16 again. I have to laugh because I had my hair highlighted about a month ago and everyone keeps telling me I look so great..they don't seem to notice that its all the weight I lost..just the damn streaks I had put in my hair to hide the gray!
  3. I was sleeved 4/24 as well. I think I probably eat about 4-6 tablespoons too, although I can do it several times a day. I can eat anything now, nothing really seems to bother me, but the meats you are correct I can't seem to eat as much of. I still hate forcing the liquids in, I've never been a big drinker so that's a constant effort for me. I'm not sure if I can't drink more than 40 ounces or I just don't want to!
  4. I had Dr Ariel Ortiz (4/24/12) and never had any pain or gas problems. The facility was great My only complaint is that when I got to San Diego it took a while to get picked up from the airport.. Ortiz was more expensive than the others but his facility is a Center of Excellence, which means they have to meet the same standards of care as the US Centers of Excellence. I too struggled with choosing..but I wasn't just going to go with the cheapest when it was something as serious as surgey. A lot of people on these boards have had success with other places too, so maybe they are not all that different from each other. All I know is it turned out great for me! Good luck to you!
  5. I was sleeved by Dr. Ortiz about a month ago. I was amazed at how great I felt and have not had any reason to contact my physician. I am due for my annual physical, but have been putting it off so I can lose as many pounds as possible before I step on that scale!
  6. Mine was 2 1/2 hours and I had no problems, a little tummy rumbling but no gas.
  7. I know exactly what you mean. It takes all blooming day to get the liquids and protein in- I 'm forcing sips of something or another constantly and when I finally get it all in I'm so relieved..I sure don't feel like I want anything more...but have not have any real hunger.
  8. I had Dr Ortiz at the Obesity Control Center. All went great!

From what I've read thats pretty normal considering the weight gain you have right after surgery. My doctor says 72 ounces of liquids, it seems like 100 gallons!
  10. My surgery was about noon or so and i was out like a light until the next morning when they made me get up and walk!
  11. I was there last week and everything went fine. Very nice facility- I am doing great!
  12. Thank you so much! I'm on my way- off to catch an early flight! See you Thursday!
  13. Thank you for your update! I am glad to hear things went well for you, I am headed there next week. Keep up the speedy recovery!
  14. Is this the Tijuana Marriott you guys are talking about? If so count me in on this party! I come in Monday and leave Friday! I am leaving my husband at home, lol
  15. I am a little nervous no one has replied to you, I am scheduled there next week. Did you have a bad experience?
  16. Care Credit is tricky.( we use them in our medical office)..their rates can be ok but you need to be careful. The wording on their plans can you to believe you don't have to make a payment for six months, (only in the fine print does it say their is a minimum monthly payment) If you are late on a payment it goes back to the default interest rate which is obscenely high. I have also seen patients not receive initial statements until after the first payment is due. You just need to be one step ahead of them and you should be all right!
  17. I am scheduled 4/24 with Dr. Ortiz. I am VERY nervous!
