  1. Hi breadlady ~~~ Glad to hear you're moving along nicely.... I've been soaking up all your info... thanks so much for sharing it does help !!! I'm feeling butterflies.... the time is going by fast.... Still waiting for my approval from insurance....hope it doesn't mess up my date. I tried to chat with you last nite....but you didn't stay in the chat room...? Anyway....good to see your posts... thanks.... Regards, Lo

  3. Hello all my fellow Lucky 7's.... Just a quick shout out to BREADLADY, thinking of you...hope all is well. You are in my prayers for a speedy recovery !!!! Snag
  4. OMG that is sooo funny.... vibrator OR suppository I don't need either one !!!!! ha ha ha :laugh:laugh
  5. IMHO... I have a Hamilton Beach personal blender....costs about $15, and works just great !!!! Holds about 12 oz max ... more than enough for one drink. If you get one...just use the button as a "pulse" ...... not pushing it continously... I read somewhere holding the button continously will burn out the motor ..... pulsing it will get the job done. Mine has been working great !! :clap2:
  6. Sunny~~~ I too just called my insurance to check on the status.... They are still waiting for the surgeon's office to fax over my info !!!! This is my SECOND call to them. I also called last week to find out nothing had been sent in !!! DAMN !!! Anyway just thought I should post this as a reminder to all to FOLLOW UP with your own case. Don't rely on the dr's office or the insurance co. Check it yourself. I have everything ready. All tests are done. All paperwork is handed in. My surgery date is July 7th. Only waitng for insurance approval !!! How frustrating !!! :faint:
  7. Sorry..... ignorant... pray for bad typists too !!
  8. Obnoxious people will say obnoxious things....whether you have a band or not. I've had plenty of rude things said to me by "concerned" individuals.. example... "are you eating for two?" "you're going back for more?"... "you should cut down".. "should you be eating that?" ... etc etc... Mean people (or those who just don't understand) will make comments if we eat too much OR when we try to loose weight. It hurts and we never get used to it. The band is YOUR way of getting to YOUR goal ... eventually.. those comments will become compliments !!! Keep your head up, keep your goal in mind and pray for igorant people.
  9. Best wishes to you !!!
  10. Hello all.... thanks for the warm welcome... Dini... great job on the calandar !!! love it !!!!! Best wishes to breadlady......peeling ahead of the crowd.... :smellie:

  17. Hi Mary, thanks, I attended my seminar on Wednesday and they did clear it up for me. I have my appt with the surgeon on May 29th. I'm happy it didn't take long for the appt. I already have my nutrition and psych eval done...just the pmd is holding me up !! Good luck with the surgery !!! Lori
  18. Thanks...I've posted my questions on the insurance forum...
  19. I'm confused... I went to my PMD for the "letter of medical necessity" and he said he won't write it until I have blood work, xray, EKG, maybe ENDO....etc. I thought the 1st step is the letter to get preauthorization, then all the tests came after that to clear you to have the surgery...??? Any input from the experienced banded folks ?? I'm in NJ with Qualcare as my insurance. Thanks for the help.
  20. Chickie...what a great story, congratulations!! You are an inspiration !! God Bless.
  21. Hello to all. I am so grateful to find this site. I am considering today the start of my band journey. (don't we always start on a Monday?) I went to a psychiatrist today for clearance. Done..very easy. I went to my PMD today, asking for a letter of medical necessity. Not done...not so easy. I wasn't sure if I was putting the cart before the horse so to speak but I guess I was. He won't write the letter until I get the required tests done. ??? I thought the tests were to CLEAR you for surgery.? and that the letter of medical necessity was to get preauthorization FOR the surgery. I'm confused. Anyway, I will attend the seminar this Wednesday and find out what tests need to be done. I was hoping to hand in my letters...PMD, psych, and nutrition eval right at the seminar. My insurance will cover 70% (I've already checked with them) so I guess being SO ready to do this...I was trying to get a jump start. Can anyone share in what order these things are to be done ? Or how you all did yours ? I am going to Hackensack in NJ for my doc/procedure. Thanks all, can't wait to get this started !!!!
  22. I want to be able to sit with my knees bent up to my shoulders and my arms wrapped around my legs ! :biggrin1:
  23. Thanks, my doc has 350, at least that's what's posted on the OH site. :nervous
  24. You consider 100, not enough experience ? What do you think is a good amount ?
  25. I've told everyone....I don't care who knows.....people talk about you anyway... might as well give 'em the facts !!!!
