  1. Right back atcha! Keep me posted in your journey!
  2. Blqberey- who was your surgeon and where did you have surgey??
  3. I went through Fontana. I started classes on January 10th, finished on March 27th. Right now they are giving us the option of having our surgery at other Kaiser facilities because of the wait time. I opted to go to kaiser West la. I will be having my first consult with the surgeon this coming Friday. Hopefully after that, the process will fly and I will have my surgey late July/ early August. I'm praying for July. Good luck to you on your journey!!
  4. Looks like we are in good hands with Dr. Z!!
  5. Newgrandmother- I have my appointment the day after you on the 22nd. Keep me posted girl!!
  6. AHHHHH, I can't wait to meet him! Which the process would just hurrrrrry up already!!! Congrats Katie!!!! I feel pretty good about him, seeing all the positive posts.
  7. I guess it depends who your with. I have Kaiser, mine lasted approximatly 20 min. I was asked a lot of questions. Do/did ismoke, did I have any depression, do I drink alcohol. I heard some a bit more extensive though. They just want to know that we are mentally stable and able to handle the changes.
  8. I LOVE chewing gum, (Haven't been sleeved yet, but went through Kaiser's options class). They said that gum has sugar alcohol in it and that could lead to ulcers in the stomach/sleeve. I don't know what I am gonna do ( I LOVE my GUM)
  9. U went through the Fontana Kaiser
  10. Okay...it was short and sweet (I am with Kaiser Southern California). I didn't have to take any test. I was asked a whole bunch of questions about my past, whether I smoked, took drugs, what issues am I dealing with, if I have support. All went well. They are submitting the referral to the surgeon and I should hear something within the next 2-3 weeks. EXCITED!!! Can't wait!!!
  11. I am keeping mine a secret. I have only told a select few- dad, hubby, son, and 3 friends and my boss- no one at work. A lot of people are judgmental, and I just don't want to hear anything they have to say. I try to keep myself and those around me positive. So I feel the same way as you. We don't have to validate anything to anyone. Our lives, and we are on a mission to get healthy. Good luck with your journey. I am still waiting to to get sleeved. No one's business but ours. I posted something similar to this - check my previous post.
  12. Have my mental health evaluation this afternoon...inching my way to surgey. Wish it would hurry up already. Anyone know what I need to expect out of this appointment?
  13. Can someone send me the pre-op diet plan???
  14. Good luck- your in our prayers!!
  15. Awesome!!! Still waiting to get sleeved!
  16. You go girl- awesome!!! So looking forward to my surgery!!
  17. Happy surgiversary to you!! love your enthusiasm!!
  18. You have to have all of your labs done before class end. After class completion you meet with the bariatrician to discuss your medical history, etc, then they schedule you for the mental health eval. If all goes well with both appointments and each of them see no reason you cannot proceed with surgery, your next appointment will be with the surgeon.
  19. Congrats! Just finished the options class at the end of March. I have already had my appointment with the bariatrician, and am already scheduled with for the mental health eval in 2 weeks. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you. What stare are you in?
  20. Awesome letter!!! Very touching and inspirational!
  21. What does the pre-op bariatrician entail? I have an appointment on Monday, just wondering what to expect. Any input would be appreciated- thanks!!
