I started boot comp this Monday 12/17 to get back on track for the holidays. I weighed this morning and I was down 11.4 lbs!!! This really helped get my focus back on the basics and what my new stomach needs instead of my wants. I am going to continue it until Christmas eve but even then I will hold on to what I have learned. Thanks for this posts!

    Hey guys,
Just wanted to share some pics, cuz we all love it when others share pics! . This is my first time sharing photos, aside from my avatar. I'm 9 months out of surgery as of yesterday, and initially, I was having my hubby take pictures every month. I kinda fell off over the summer, but finally remembered to have him snap a few this morning. I cried a little when I put the 'before' and 'after' side by side. I was self pay, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Rejoicing over here!! Woot!
p.s. not sure if I'm doing this right, so hopefully there are pictures here!

I cannot believe it, I'm one year out from my sleeve surgery. I remember my doctor told me this would happen. Last night I moved my SIZE 6 dress pants into my closet!!!! Even though my doctor said it would happen, that I would get down this small, in the back of my mind I had my doubts. But I'm here! I did it and according to my doctor, I'm not finished. He says I should/WILL get down one more size into a 4. Absolutely, freaking, fantastic!!!

So my fiance and I have been living with the in-laws for a few months after my surgery and the whole family is doing so well! I've been doing a lot of the cooking, to take some pressure off my MIL, so I'm making high-protein, healthy meals every night. My MIL has been coming with me to the gym and my FIL will go with me on walks around the property where he likes to scope out the deer and check the wildlife cameras. When I visit my parents, my dad goes to the YMCA with me to swim almost every day and he started using MFP to track his food and exercise intake.
Recently my FIL has lost some weight and my MIL's cholesterol is down so much her doctor told her she doesn't need to go on medication after all! My dad had a physical after prostate surgery and he got a flawless bill of health. I'm so glad my journey to better health is having so many good effects on my family. Sometimes we can inspire people around us without even realizing it.

I need to do some more recent pictures but for me ( a very pear shaped girl) I lost it from the top down... face then shoulders, then boobs and waist and back and then the butt and thighs. About 73pounds down and half way to goal. My boobs have deflated as my husband puts it, still lots to loose on the bottom half, it is going, I love the change- fit in every chair now without issue. I am sure that I will always be pear shaped, always was even at half my size.

I don't understand why every time someone on this board says that he/she is hungry that others try to persuade he/she that he/she is confusing hunger with gas or thirst. We are all adults and know by now the difference between hunger, gas, and thirst. I was absolutely starving today but yet so many people on this board would seemingly have us all believe that I can't possibly be hungry on a 600 calorie diet! It really is ridiculous that everybody who claims to be hungry after surgery on this board is never taken seriously. It is entirely possible that the multitude of people who experience severe hunger after the surgery on a 600 calorie diet are actually...wait for it...HUNGRY.

January 11th will be my 1 year anniversary. Two weeks before that, on the 28th, I started my liquid diet in preparation for surgery. I took a day off for New Year's as I do a prime rib roast every year, but I think I lost 16 pounds in that week.
I am so thankful for the gift I have been given. I was 5'1", 246 pounds with a BMI creeping towards 50. I wore a tight size 22 and 2x tops. I was just diagnosed as diabetic, had high blood pressure and sleep apnea so bad that I actually stopped breathing 6 times a minute. Yes, a gasp every 10 seconds. I was so depressed I played the sick card every time a social situation came up. Actually I was starting to feel really horribly sick. I didn't even want to walk down the street. My knees and feet hurt.
Today I am 150 pounds and wear a size 6 or 8 or 9 depending on the brand. The diabetes is gone. The sleep apnea is gone. My BP is 120/60. I hike, bike, kayak and horseback ride. Yesterday I mounted a very tall horse and easily swung into the saddle. I didn't know I could do that.
I think I am going to do a bit of a fast, but a high Protein One with the Protein shake recipes I got from Eggface, AKA Shelly. I will do a lot of the pumpkin and cranberry shakes I think.
Now I don't expect to lose all that much, but I think I want to do a fast for both discipline and maybe even for a religious one. I want to give thanks to the one from all whom blessings flow. I want to remember the Father and remember the sacrifice Christ made for us.
This country and the world is in terrible shape. I will take the money that I did not spend on food for myself and use it to buy food to put in in the box we have at church. There will be lots of food for Christmas, but people still need to eat after Christmas.
I am going to spend the period between the 28th of December and the 11th of January in fasting and prayer.
I just wanted to share. Yes, there are those of you who are not religious. I am not proselytizing. I should be though LOL. This is just my own testament.

Stalls happen. Patience is key, but I know that's easy to say, harder to do. Try throwing your body some curve balls for 2 or 3 days. Go back to liquid diet. Completely change your workout to something you are not comfortable doing. Or take a couple of days off from the gym altogether. Up your Water. Get more sleep. These things may help, may not. Most of the time the stalls end themselves.

Go get a new photo when you are close to goal. Go in at that point and tell them that the change you have made makes a new photo necessary, the current one is unrecognizable and causing problems when you have to varify your ID using your liscence. I think it costs about $25 and would be an awesome reward for your hard work and success.
I will agree with you that the before pictures are so difficult to do, but must say I am so glad I did them, and nothing fellow sleeve buddies show me, inspires me more.
2nd idea is - Do you have a good friend that would go with you. It always helps me to take a friend when I have to do something difficult.

1 year ago today I was being rolled into the Operating room thinking that this is my last chance to change my life. This is the last chance I have to get healthy and make a change for the better. This is the last chance for me to for me to stop just existing and start living. Growing up I was always the largest kid. In high school I went from being a 5 foot 8 kid to being 6 foot 4 man wearing a size 15 shoe. In high school I was athletic and worked out daily. After high school my family moved to Atlanta so my sister could receive better treatment for her MS. During my time in Atlanta I started to gain weight .I was sedentary and but still eating like an athlete. My sister lost her battle with MS and it affected my family severely. I started eating and packing on pounds , and me working a call center job working second shift did not help. In early 2011 I started looking for a way to get healthy. At this point I had not been weighed in at least 3 years. I went to the doctor and stepped on the scale and it read 540 pounds. My mother started crying uncontrollably at the doctors office, she saw 540 pounds and then saw me in a grave next to my sister. That was the day I decided that I have to have WLS, I had did diets and lost weight but it always came back. I started my journey at 540 pounds with back and joint pain, High blood pressure, borderline diabetic, and un-diagnosed sleep apnea. I was able to get down to 490 the day of surgery. I am down to 330 pounds as of today with a total loss of 210 pounds. I still have about 40-50 pounds to go but I am more than happy with my results. My life has improved so much in the last year. Physically I am able to walk for 10 minutes without my back being in knots and my joints screaming in pain. I am able to get a full nights sleep and not wake up tired. No more high blood pressure, no more back or joint pain, no longer borderline diabetic. Mentally I have become a different person also. My outlook on life is positive. I have become a stronger person inside and out. I no longer let negative people or issues get me down. I was just diagnosed with MS October 15th. Usually this would get me down especially since my family has history with this disease( my deceased sister), but I just started living again, I will not let this control my future. I am not going to stop living until I am dead- and I am not dead yet. I will you leave you guys with a quote that I live by. Stay strong and stay positive everyone.
"Now we are the masters of our fate, That the task which has been set us is not above our strength .That it's pangs and toils are not beyond our endurance .As long as we have faith in our cause and an unconquerable will-power Salvation will not be denied us ! "- Winston Churchill
