  1. Wow, how exciting! Wishing you well for a super speedy recovery! HUGS!
  2. So, I just made my FINAL payment, and booked my airfare, and hotel for San Diego for the day before. It's done, I'm doing it.....I can't believe it!
  3. How long are you generally in pain after the surgery, and what type of pain meds do they typically put you on, and how much do they give you to bring home? I'm a big baby when it comes to pain, so I'm kind of scared....
  4. That's not a stupid question at all! I'd love to hear what people have to say. Normally I vacation in Jamaica, and tip my driver $5-$10, but there's a "no tipping" policy at the resort, because it's all inclusive.
  5. Jewel....I live in Pflugerville/Austin, and would LOVE to get together sometime for support!
  6. It depends on where I shop. I'm just under 5'10", so some places consider it "tall", and others "average". :-)
  7. I'm currently in 18/20 tall. Hopefully it changes soon after surgery, but by then, you'll be even smaller. :-) :bigear:
  8. Good luck, and looking forward to hearing your experience!
  9. Hi Cynthia, I'm scheduled for March 2nd with Dr. Almanza! I livere here in Austin, and would love to buddy up with you for support! Too bad we don't have the same date....we could fly out together :-)
  10. Does anybody have a tasty High-Protein Chicken Broth Recipe? I go in for surgery on March 2nd, and want to stock my freezer. I'm not a lover of "false broths". Thanks in advance!
  11. Wow! Mine jumped almost $100 in the past week. I better book ASAP! Looking forward to meeting you too!
  12. How exciting!!! I'm flying in on March 1st....possibly 2/29. What a journey!
  13. You all are so amazing. Thank you SO much for all of your support, and confidence :-)
  14. Good luck, and speedy recovery wishes to you! Looking forward to hearing your report. I go to TJ on March 2nd!
  15. I can't wait to hear all about the rest of your journey! God bless :-)
  16. Kathy, I'm going alone. I don't mind though, in fact it feels like I should go alone. :-)
  17. Wow Kathy, that was very informative. It's good to hear the success stories about Dr. Almanza. Thank you very much for sharing.....my surgery date can't come fast enough!
  18. You sound like me! Wow, I thought I was alone in this. I hope the hunger goes away after the surgery. I only have to do the pre-op for 2 weeks, and that alone scares me. Pasta.....mmmmmm....that sounds so good!
  19. True about bringing someone and being stared at lol. I suppose the next thing I need to decide is wether or not to stay at the recovery house or the Hotel.
  20. I'll be having my sleeve done with Dr. Almanza on March 2nd, and going all by myself. Am I nuts? Do most of you take someone along, or opt to go alone? This is my chosen path, as I feel it's my own personal journey. My family and friends however, think I've lost my mind for even considering the surgery, much less going alone. Any thoughts?
  21. Circa, I agree with you on this one. I haven't decided yet if I'll be staying at the Hotel or the recovery house yet though. Tough choice, as I will be traveling alone.
  22. Help! My biggest fear is being hungry. I'm having my surgery on March 2nd, and have literally tried changing how much I eat over the past week, and I feel as though I'm STARVING. I get headaches, feel tired, and my entire body starts to hurt. Is this some sort of food withdraw? I'm not even cutting down drastically, just a little. Am I alone in this? I'm scared I'll feel this way during pre-op and initial post-op. Any advice, or sharing your own stories would be most helpful.
  23. Congrats on your great start! I will have mine on 3/2/2012.
