  1. I know how frustrating that can be. I have slid into many cute pairs of pants that look great on my thighs and butt only to button them and POW there is tons of belly flab. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I do feel your pain. I recently bought a pair of super cute bright pink pajama pants, I bought XL cuz I like them baggy and comfy, well they fit so good. When we went back to the store I saw another cute pair of bright purple ones with stars so I grabbed an XL and when I got home they were very tight. I was so upset and sad. The nice thing is that eventually they will fit. Determination and hard work and in no time your pants will be looking FAB on you. They may even end up being way too big before you even know it. You never know. From looking at you ticker it looks like you have done an amazing job. Don't let one pair of pants bring you down, keep your chin up girl it will all be fine. (((hugz)))
  2. Those are both great victories! Congrats! I have always thought that it's such an awesome feeling to try on clothes that once fit fine and now are too big. I dunno why but having clothes fit bigger sometimes (to me) is a better victory than a scale loss. Congratulations again this is an awesome post! Good Luck on your pre-op diet and keep us posted!
  3. Yeah longer-life I was the one on a never ending liquid diet. But I am glad they finally gave me a date. And in all honesty I am glad I was on the liquid diet for so long because i feel more prepared now for how things will be after the surgery. I fell off the wagon many times, and I cheated many times, but now I am doing great and feel so ready for surgery. Thanks for worrying about me. After you said you would switch surgeons I went to my surgeons office and said i want a date! They still couldn't give me an exact date but he gave me a general idea which was good. I am the type of person that will call and annoy the nurses all day because I have a million questions lol. at first they hated me but now they love me lol.
  4. Hi Everyone, Just checking in I have my surgery scheduled for November 30th. Yah! I am so excited. For me this has all been a blur. I started this whole journey on Sept 26th. So all of my testing and everything only took 2 months. Wowie. Thru the testing i have found out that I have central sleep apnea and also bipolar disorder. I can't believe I had both things and had no idea. So I am lucky to have had all the testing done. Now I just have to attend my pre-surgery class and one more support group meeting and I am done. If there are any sleevie buddies who wanna add me as a friend that would be great. We can never have too much support. BTW I am keeping my sleeve private until after the surgery is done. My family is very negative about it and i will not let them persuade me one way or the other until it's already done lol. Then they can't do anything about it.
  5. Yeah it does seem hypocritical to do that. But many people quit long enough to have surgery and then start smoking again after they have healed and gotten thru the post op stuff. I quit smoking when I was pregnant with my daughter that was like 3.5 years ago. I still crave cigs but I won't do it. I know if I buy a pack that will be the beginning of the end lol.
  6. Everyone has said so many great things, I really don't have much to add. I don't think you are motivated because you are stuck in a bad cycle. Eat something bad, feel crappy, get down on yourself, eat something bad again, etc.. That's how I usually end up getting at times and that's what you might be doing. You have done so well. You most likely have not stretched your sleeve any more than any other person at your stage in weight loss with a sleevie. I think you should stop "thinking" so much. Stop thinking you have completely destroyed your little belly. You haven't! You have just gotten into a bad eating pattern that you need to break out of. We all do it, don't be so down on yourself. Get back on track, you can do it! Good Luck, I am here if you want to vent or rant or whatever just PM me. Everyone else on here, well I'm sure you already know, they are great and awesome too. :biggrin2: You can do this I know you can. If you didn't believe in yourself you would have never gotten the surgery in the firstplace. (((((hugs)))))
  7. Thanks Liliana! Yeah we will be sleevie buddies! I can't even tell you how much I enjoy having you and everyone else on here for support. Thank you for giving me some hopeful and encouraging words. We will both do awesome! I was just having a small moment of weakness.
  8. I just got my date today it is November 30th.!!!!!!!!!!! I am super excited!
  9. Wear something you think is nice, and if your mom says anything tell her exactly what you have said here. Tell her you won't waste your money on something you are only going to wear once. Tell her you are sorry she feels you won't look nice but you will put a lot of time and effort into what you wear and you think you will look FAB! Also, I hardly ever dress up but when I do I usually wear a cute pair of dark jeans and a nice button up shirt. Since no one ever sees me without my yoga pants or sweats they almost always think I look nice. It's not about anyone else it is about YOU. Like someone else said you need to feel good about you and that's all that matters. The more confident you are on that night the less likely your mom will say anything. I have always heard confidence makes the woman. Good Luck and keep your head held high.
  10. My doc does the same thing for me it is just some more blood work and I think to check the weight again. He also talks with me and goes over everything one more time.
  11. My mom took it well too, totally threw me for a loop. lol. I keep expecting her to say something negative about it, but she hasn't. I think at some point moms just realize we are adults and really just want the best for us. I'm just happy I have her for support as I am sure you are too. Just take it and run with it. Good Luck!
  12. Just try and relax, go out and have fun. Don't get wasted, but enjoy yourself. Like everyone else said go for it!
  13. I haven't heard anything about that I am going to browse the internet for the story though. I'm not sure if I should read it though it might just scare the crap out of me before my surgery lol. I do agree with what KristeyK said though. Anything can happen during any surgery, the more complicated the surgery the more risks involved. When I had my c-section 2 years ago they gave me way too much anesthesia. They weren't communicating properly and i wound up being numb throughout my entire body instead of just the belly down. They had to pump me full of medicine to start my heart because it was slowing down so much. People I'm sure have died during bariatric surgery or shortly after but that's a risk you are willing to take when you sign up for this. Lucky for me my doc has no fatalities so I am pretty confident going into this.
  14. I know how you feel! My fridge is full of Jello and my freezer is busting open with sugar free popsicles. LOL Usually the doctor does know best, I have been on a pre-op liquid Protein diet since Sept I have hated it and have fallen off the wagon many times. I know now that my doctor did it because I needed that amount of time to really be ready for my surgery. I have to do 2 days of Clear liquids prior to my surgery. Good Luck.!
  15. I tend to agree with what Day Dreamer has said. This is what yy doctor will have me doing 2 weeks after surgery Clear liquids only Then 2 weeks of pureed foods Month 2 thru Month 4 soft foods only After the 4th month regular eating I'm not sure if thats the norm but I will follow everything my doctor says perfectly. he is the one digging inside me so i won't be pissing him off anytime soon LOL Good Luck.
  16. I was nervous for mine too but it went so great. The Dr. was very nice and I actually found out I have bipolar disorder. We don't know why I have it it could be from untreated depression and/or my sleep apnea going untreated. I didn't have to do any type of testing or anything. Usually as long as you know what your getting urself into by having the surgery the doc is fine with clearing you. You are well on your way to a new you. Good Luck!
  17. So I got a call today from my surgery place and my date is November 30th! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Lately I have been thinking of backing out. I know i am only hesitant because the surgery will hold me to standards that I don't hold to myself. That is the one reason I wanted the surgery. I can't cheat because everyone is watching me and weighing me and keeping their eyes on me. But now I am wanting to back out because I want to be able to have cheat days and eat little things here or there. I know that sounds crazy, but I have lived so long like this it's hard to break the habit. I am not going to back out though I am going to do it. This is my time to get healthy and stay healthy. I got off on a tangent there but anyways SURGERY on NOVEMBER 30th!! WOOHOOOOO Thanks for reading this. =]
  18. I just try to stay busy. I read, I come on this site a lot, and I watch tv. Sometimes watching tv makes me wanna munch on food so I have to find something else to do. Whenever I think I'm hungry I drink a bottle of water. It doesn't always work but most of the time it helps. You should be able to have sugar free jello and/or pudding and also sugar free popsicles. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
  19. That is so awesome, congratulations. Like previous person said it is one of the hardest habits to break, and you are well on your way to becoming a healthier you.
  20. Good Luck! I'm sending well wishes your way. I hope you have a flawless surgery and a speedy recovery.
  21. I'm going thru the same thing. My surgeon told me he wanted me to lose 10-15 pounds before he would do my surgery. I initially lost about 12 pounds but now I am stuck in a bad spot. I have jumped up to only having a loss of 6 pounds. I am worried that when I see him on the 15th he will be angry and postpone my surgery date. I hope he won't, I have switched medications and I am on my period both of which can cause weight gain. I'm hoping for you. Like someone else said drink lots of Water and try not to stress. I have heard stressing can stall weight loss. Good Luck I'm sending good thoughts your way.
  22. I'm glad you posted this because I have been worried about sipping as well. I am a huge gulper. I try to sip now while I am pre op but I always end up gulping. I'm pretty sure after surgery I will have a rude awakening when I gulp and end up in pain. That will probably teach me lol.
  23. Congratulations on getting your date!!
  24. YIPPEE for you! I am so happy for you congratulations. I bet you are just super excited, especially after a year of waiting. Good Luck. :biggrin2:
