  1. Good Luck to everyone! I am scheduled for November 30th.
  2. It's just the way it is unfortunately. You are basically eating nothing, you are gunna feel crappy. I am on my 2 week pre-op liquid diet phase, and it's not getting any easier the longer it goes on. Drink lots of water, and stay rested. I would say just relax and try to nap. My biggest enemy right now is head hunger. I know I am not really starving and I really don't want to cheat but it's SO FREAKING HARD! I am crabby and snippy and just plain old mean to everyone lol
  3. I love this idea. My sleeve bucket list is: 1. Throw away all of my clothes that I grow out of, I have always saved bigger size clothing "in case" I gained the weight back. This time I won't gain weight back. 2. Shop in the cute clothes section. This includes wearing a womans style shirt. I always buy mens t-shirts instead. 3. Buy and wear a pait of cute jean shorts for next summer. 4. Jog 5 miles without stopping. 5. Play with my 2.5 year old daughter without being winded. 6. Wear a pair of cute zip up leather boots, right now my calves are too big to zip them up. I have way more but that is what I have come up with for now.
  4. I am a size 10 so I am hoping my feet shrink. They usually only make the cutest shoes up to size 9, then your out of luck. So heres to hoping!
  5. Good Luck! I am hoping my surgery is early in the morning too because I want to be able to go home as soon as possible. I hate being away from my little girl, I still haven't cut the cord and she is two and a half years old LOL. I'm thinking about asking the surgeon if I can possibly go first on my surgery day.
  6. You need to be honest with your surgeon. It is important that they know what they are getting into when they start your surgery, for your health and safety. I just started my 2 week pre-op diet today, and I am completely commited because I want everything about my surgery to go super smooth. So, let your surgeon know. It will all work out in the end, even if the surgery is rescheduled. Which in my very humble opinoin might need to be. If you are having a problem completing a 2 week pre-op diet you may not be as emotionally ready to get the surgery. If you cheat on the siet after surgery you could seriously hurt yourself. Reflect on why you cheated and try to find the solution because you don't want to end up with complications after your surgery. Good Luck.
  7. wo0t! wo0t! I am so0o0oo excited for you! I am sending tons of good vibes your way.
  8. Good for you hun! I feel the same way, my surgery is Nov. 30th. It's almost like I can't wait to start my life over. To be a new me, the me I always knew I have been. Totally agree with your post!
  9. So, I had to do the same thing, not as long as you and I was still so pissed off. I had my consultation on Sept 26 and my doc told me then that I had to start my pre-op liquid diet then. I am like you're joking right.? I mean seriously why should I have to do that.? I am having surgery on November 30th so I have only been at this for two months. Now you may not want to hear this but I am going to tell you anyways. I have learned a lot on this diet for two months. It has been a time for me to practice being sleeved without actually being sleeved. I was able to fall off the wagon and not be completely ill, or hurt my new stomach. It's sucks that we have to prove anything to anybody, but why shouldn't we have to. In reality we are the ones who made ourselves fat. The doc and the insurance companies are about to spend a lot of time and money on you and they want to make sure you can actually succeed. I don't see what's wrong with that. Hold your head up high and take this time to find yourself. To learn some new things about yourself. Many people have to lose weight for insurance purposes, be happy you aren't in that boat. I felt the same way you did at first, but I am glad they did it. I cut out soda, I cut out sweets, I cut out Snacks. They good thing was because I had some time beforehand I was able to cut things down slowly, versus doing it all at once and having caffeine headaches and starving to death. Plus I have learned my food-triggers and I have learned when the worst times for me to snack are. You will learn all of these things about yourself, if you haven't already and will be better prepared for the surgery and what lies after that. Try and stay positive, with your mind on your diet everyday the time will fly by. Chin up! Good Luck!
  10. Congrats and Good Luck!
  11. If you have stuck to the liquid diet and haven't cheated you should have lost weight. Go and be proud.! And if you didn't lose (even though I am sure you did) be proud that you are stciking to this diet, because seriously this pre-op diet is freaking hard! Hold your head up high, you are getting healthy and you are going to feel better by getting this weight off. You are gunna wear non elastic pants, in fact you are gunna rock some skinny jeans! Just keep up the good work! I want to add you have to do what will make you feel most comfortable, whatever that may be. Good Luck!
  12. Congrats! It's such a good feeling knowing it is going to happen. :biggrin5:
  13. How are you have trouble? Is it making you sick, gag, or what? I would say try and switch what you are drinking. Or split it up throughout the day so you are drinking less amounts more times a day. Whatever the reason anyone is usually going to get sick of the same thing day in and day out it's a good idea to have a variety of options so you don't get tired of one. Good Luck.
  14. So I went thru a similar situation when I started my pre-op diet, I was addicted to diet pepsi. Like no joke I was drinking about 90-100oz a day and not drinking my Water. Seriously I drank no water. Anyways, when my surgeon told me I would have to give up soda for the rest of my life at first I freaked but in my mind being thin was way worth giving up soda. It took me about 2 months but I am now able to go all day without soda. It is one of the hardest things I have ever done. I have quit smoking, had a child by c-section, had many many many surgeries and quiting soda ranks way up there lol. You should at least quit soda until you are in maintenence. Then I don't see why re-introducing it back in would be a problem. I am still pre-op and like i said my surgeon says I have to quit soda for the rest of my life. HAHA he is sadly wrong, I will drink soda again- just not anytime soon. I quit by slowly cutting back how much I was drinking a day. I didn't get headaches or feel like I was dying or anything. I think it is because I cut back slowly. I did like 2 weeks at a 20oz a day. Then I cut back to small bottles of 16oz for 2 weeks. Then I bought the small cans that are 8oz for a week. I hate soda in a can, I like the plastic bottle or fountain. So I immediately gave up fountains and eventualy l drank from cans. Drinking from cans did it for me because it tasted wrong lol. You can do it, it really is hard but it's worth it to have a good solid recovery and to make sure you don't hurt your new small stomach. Most likely after the surgery you won't even want them anymore, lots of people can't handle sweet sugary things anymore. Good Luck!
  15. I wanted to also welcome you to the forum. There are a lot of helpful, caring, amazing people on here so you have made a good choice coming here! I am not having my surgery done in MX but I think there is an actual place on here that is dedicated just to people going to MX. I am not 100% sure but you might wanna look around a bit. Anyways, welcome!
  16. Of course we will lose weight on the pre-op diet, that is what it is meant to do. Don't physc yourself out. Most of us are overweight because we are unable to make the permanent lifestyle changes to keep the weight off. That is why the sleeve is so successful because it is making the permanent lifestyle change for us. It won't fix our mind and how we think, but I feel in a way it will help with that too. If you eat too much you hurt wich sends the signal to the brain not to do it. Same with drinking/eating too fast and drinking or eating bigger bites or gulps. So I feel like we are just retraining our mind and body to be healthy and thin. By the time we are able to eat real food like 6 months down the line we will be thinner and better prepared to handle our own food choices. So yes you could back out and stick to the diet you have been given for pre-op, in fact at my surgeons office many people decide to do that. But you know what will most likely happen? You will get fed up with the diet, quit, and probably go back to your prior habits that put you in this situation in the first place. That is what most of us have done our entire lives .I say stick with it, you will be so happy you did. :biggrin5:
  17. Every single time I go into the chat room on here there is never anyone on. Usually there are band people but no sleevie people...After checking for at least 5 days in a row I gave up.
  18. I have medicaid and I started this whole thing September 26th and I will be having surgery on November 30th. I have a great surgeon who believe in me having the surgeon and has done everything accurately and quickly to make sure I get the surgery sooner rather than later.
  19. Hey hun, I havent had the surgery yet but wanted to let you know that the sleeve surgery was the last thing I wanted. That's before I read all of the success stories on this site and before I did all the reasearch I have done. I'm wondering why you think the sleeve won't work for you?
  20. Hope all is well. We all have our breaking points. Good Luck. Glad to hear hubby is still alive lol
  21. My surgery is November 30th as well but I am having my surgery done in Southern Illinois by Dr. Sudakaran at New Life Weigh Loss center.
  22. My surgery is November 30th. i started my whole journey on Sept. 26th. So for me it had all happened in the blink of an eye. I am so nervous, even though my surgeon is amazing. I guess for me the nervousness comes from just not knowing how it all will be after I have surgery. I know how it "should" be, but I'm still nervous how I will actually feel. I'm nervous also that I won't lose any weight. That probably sounds silly, but I have been overweight my whole life and losing the weight almost seems like an impossible thing right now. I'm also very anxious about the actual procedure. I always hope everything will go smooth and complication free, but will it actually be that way the day of. So to answer your question, yes I think everyone goes through exactly what you are going through to some extent or another. Why wouldn't we be nervous or anxious? We are basically about to change our lives in ways we never have before. I believe everything will be fine. Have faith hun, you know what you are doing, and in about 5-6 months you will look back and giggle at how nervous you were. Good Luck. !!
