  1. I had left should pain when my gallbladder was out of whack. I had to have it removed because it wasn't functioning properly. Whenever people lose a lot of weight very rapidly our gallbladders may need to be removed. Other than that I totally agree with Lissa. Always cal your doc, that's what they are there for.
  2. Awesome NSV! I love any type of clothing NSV because I love clothes lol. I actually have about 5 pairs of jeans in my closet right now I am in a 16 I also have an 18 just to remind me. I have a 14 and a small 12 too. LOL I try them on at different times just to see. Hopefully one day! Anyways congrats to you!
  3. Okay let me start off by saying I do not mind people giving me some truthful harsh criticism. I have been stuck and I can't get out of this bad place. I am exercising anywhere from 3 - 5 miles of brisk walking a day. Am I doing too much, not enough, I don't get it. Now as far as eating I make my protein shakes with skim milk. Should I cut the milk out? I have also been eating cheese a lot, because it has tons of protein. Maybe that is causing this I have no idea. I chew everything very well, and I can honestly only eat small amounts. Maybe 2 cheese sticks, or a yogurt and I am full. I don't graze or anything. Seriously I know my surgeon is going to be pissed at me but I don't know what to do. I am thinking of going back to strictly protein shakes but the ones made with water and do that for a week or two. How many carbs should I be getting in a day? Anyone have any ideas or anything at all. I can't stand this stall any longer, and believe me I am measuring myself and there isn't much of a change there either. Please HELP me!
  4. NSV all the WAY! Go You Go You! I want to do that one day but I am so scared! lol.
  5. I'm still working on this. I am the same as UX, actually exactly the same. I hear it's normal not to feel full yet. I am still trying to find that balance between full and TOO full. It's trial and error. Nausea can mean you have eaten too much. or you have eaten too fast, or you are not taking small enough bites. I get naseous a lot now especially if I forget to eat. Then it's hard to catch up and get back to "normal". We will all get this, just take it slow. Everyone says slower is better. I still sometimes scarf my food and then boy oh boy do I regret it.
  6. I really needed this post today. So THANK YOU! I have said this before but I am doing this for myself first, but my beautiful daughter second. I can not imagine her life to be anything like mine as I was growing up. I do not want her to look to her mother as an excuse for being over weight. I want to be healthy and full of energy and able to keep her weight under control by exercise and healthy eating. I am also doing this for my future children, when that time comes. Spending a life full of ridicule, hurt feelings, and negative thoughts is no way for any child to grow up.! I love my sleevie because I can only take a bite of the things I love and walk away, I also hate my sleevie for the same reason. Last night all I wanted was some Diet Pepsi. I am still having that craving today! It's going to be a rough day. Especially because I stepped on the scale and am still stuck at 224.0 ! ARG! I almost threw the scale! I actually debated buying a new scale because I am sure this one is broken! LOL. This is a great time of year, and without me focusing on the food I am focusing on all of the other more important things. Like how excited my 2.5 year old daughter will feel when Santa comes! Food is still controlling my every thought, but I am still pushing on and I will break free sooner or later. Love Your posts. Thanks for this one today.
  7. Unfortunately no creams, lotions, moisturizers or anything else will help you, or me for that matter lol. I feel your pain I am only a few weeks post-op but I had a c-section when I had my daughter in 2009. I also have some flab in the belly area. I am 26 but I know I am gunna have some hangy skin! I try and say I will feel proud. I am proud of my c-section scar, and I will be proud if I am thin but have some loose skin too! That's what I say anyways, who knows how I will actually feel when I am in that position LOL. You need to be working your abs every single day, and you need to be working the crap outta them. It won't be easy to get rid of the flab but if you put the work in you will get results. It won't be easy but you can totally do it. Good Luck.
  8. I find that sometimes even now I have a hard time burping, especially if I eat too much. I usually can take a walk and it helps, and also chewable gas-x tabs help. It allows me to work out the gas out of both ends. Also if I take smaller sips and swallow more often it helps me. Good Luck it should get better over time. Maybe talk to your surgeon and hopefully they can do something for you.
  9. Welcome to the losers bench hun! Sounds like you are doing good. Bad habits are hard to break but you will get the hang of it don't worry.
  10. I agree that the kids menus usually don't have a ton of great options. I know this mainly because I have a 2 yr old, and she usually gets to either have chicken tenders, mac and cheese, or like a grilled cheese sandwich. Most places are the same way but others are better I'm sure. So since I have my daughter I order a adult menu item and share it with her. Soup is an awesome choice, but I have personally found that soup tastes like crap ever since surgery. That's totally a me thing I am sure. I order everything special and I just pick pick pick. I actually love my sleeve because I can take a bite of my BF's food, a bite of mine, and a bite of my daughters and then I'm full, how awesome is that! lol. I figure it's a trial and error thing but in time you will figure what works the best for you. Good Luck.
  11. I jut started briskly walking in hopes of running as soon as my legs can carry my fat butt lol, I am only 3-4 weeks post-op. BUT I have seen a ton of posts, tickers, and etc about people who are running marathons and whatnot. Congrats on your Diva run, it sounds amazing. I can't wait to have that type of feeling from RUNNING! I mean seriously I am 26 and when I was in high school I couldn't even walk the mile in 30 minutes! To see myself as a runner doesn't even seem possible.
  12. No I can't eat anything. I can have pureeds. I ordered a Soup that was crappy and ate 2 bites and was full whilst he is eating loaded yummy nachos and slurping down delicious looking soda! I just wanted to dig in. I also ordered some chicken quesadillas, (as I mentioned earlier I am a cheater) and well the chunks of chicken were too big to eat but I did manage a few bites. It was our first time out to eat. It was super hard and very depressing. Not to mention I look around the restaurant and I wonder why I was so worried about my weight in the first place, almost everyone there was overweight and larger than myself. I started doubting myself and this whole decision. I always think I could have done this on my own and then I could have had a damn cheat day if i wanted! Then I look at my super awesome 2 year old daughter who is my motivation for all of this and things always seem a bit brighter. I can't imagine her being made fun of her whole life for being overweight like I was. I tend to think if I am overweight she will think it is okay to eat and be overweight like me. I DO NOT want that for her. Exercise does indeed help, I will admit the first few times or even weeks totally sucked for me! I try and briskly walk anywhere from 3-5 miles a day on my treadmill. Like I said I have cheated and it wasn't worth it. I am supposed to be on pureed's. I have had mac and cheese, I have had chex mix, I have had chips, I have had cheese, I have had quesidillas, I have had popcorn, I have had peanut M&Ms, I have been a BAD sleeve patient. BTW that was all the things I ate just YESTERDAY! I tend to think I know everything and my surgeon is just babying me. Well now here I am wondering if I stretched my sleeve, wondering if I will have a leak, and I'm telling you I felt like complete crap after eating those things. My stomach was bloated, I got sweaty, I had to lay down, and I didn't get my Protein or liquids in for the day. It was so not worth it for me to advance. I would call your surgeons office about the support group meetings, if you havent already. Otherwise on here they have a ton of local groups and although I'm not entered in any I'm pretty sure they get together from time to time. It sounds like you are losing weight too, I ended up cheating because of the fact I hit a stall for so long and I got mad and ate food. Congrats on your weight loss and all of those NSV's. Time will pass and hopefully things will be better. I tend to think since I can't change what I have done I better just try and make the most of it. Keep up that exercise and the weight will melt off.
  13. I like the weekly weigh in idea. But I must admit I will prolly cheat lol. Maybe I can make a promise to myself to weigh less and by the time I am in maintenence I will be free from the scale (6 months to a year from now) LOL. It will prolly take me that long get over my addiction.
  14. I know what you are referring to and like some other people said we cant all "cheer" for people all the time. People tend to make blank statements when they are angry and then people respond accordingly. This forum, just like real life, has a mixture of people and we will see many different responds to the same post. That's personally why I like this site, lots of people and lots of different opinoins. I believe a lot of people have been sleeved lately and a lot of people are feeling crappy right now. I for one sometimes need a hard slap in the face with some honesty thrown in VS. someone saying "oh hunny everythign will be okay". That's me though. I am truly sorry you felt attacked or thought other people were being attacked. Has that person said they felt attacked? Or was that your own interpretation.? JW Anyways I agree if it is happening it should stop, but as for myself I haven't noticed anything like that I could be wrong though. I respect you for standing up and saying something and defending others though, that takes courage, good for you!! Not everyone can do something like that.
  15. Rosy, I also replied to a topic you posted and well you were feeling down and plain pissed with that one too. I am feeling your pain believe me, I hated my clear liquid phase, it was awful. I'm glad to see you are a little more optimistic about everything. I am sorry you regret your decision too, I am hoping sometime soon you won't feel that way. Let's be honest you might feel that way forever who knows right? This whole getting sleeved thing was a emotional rollercoaster for me as well. There are numerous times in the day when I regret my decision. Many people say they don't regret this because they are further out and people tend to forget the bad stuff when things are seemingly brighter. I hated my life when I first got this surgery, and last night when my BF was shoveling food into his mouth and I am sitting there like WTH I hated this sleeve then too. We all go through bad times especially with huge life changes like this one. My surgeon started me on an anti depressant a month before surgery to level me out before and for mostly after surgery. I find that with many of your posts you are up and down and you very well deserve to be, your life sucks right now. But maybe an anti-depressant could help you.? Many people take them, if your not taking one already. Do you have an oppurtunity to attend any support group meetings about this near you? My surgeons office has them quite frequently and many people say it helps. Just a thought. I really hope you start to feel better about this, considering there is no going back at this point and considering the way your feeling, there is no where to go but up. I have cheated a couple of times on my diet. I want to tell you hun it wasn't worth it. I felt like complete crap not only physically in my belly but emotionally as well. Not only that but now I worry that I may of hurt my sleeve. It wasn't worth it and I am sorry I did it. I want to say again I am sorry your feeling this way but I am here if you want to PM me and just vent. We all need that sometimes. Good Luck. Keep us updated.
  16. I am only 3 weeks post-op but I weigh myself every single day. I can't help but to step on the scale. I do get excited if I lose and depressed if I don't. Right now I am in a stall but I try not to let it get me down. I definetly know how great this would be for you. I knwo how hard it can be to keep off the scale. Good Luck! I am definetly cheering for you on this one!
  17. The gas pain in my shoulder was so bad. Finally my BF rubbed it really hard and after that it seemed to seperate and dissappear, I have no idea if that's why but boy did I feel better. I agree you should be walking, it helps. I loved my electric blanket in the very beginning, it helped me through many nights of discomfort. Also, I slept in my recliner, It really helped to be sitting up vs. laying down all the way. Good Luck, you will start feeling better in no time.
  18. I am 3 weeks out and I still get very dizzy and light-headed when I stand up or get up from like a squatting position. We aren't eating a lot of calories so the body does that. You should be drinking about 8 oz over an hour, or so I was told. In the beginning I would always feel so crappy when I didn't have enough fluids. You can always do jello or SF popsicles. Good Luck hun, I think it is normal though.
  19. I'm really liking yogurt right now. I eat the yoplait light and the carbmasters from kroger. The carbmasters have 8g of protein which is really awesome since I don't like greek yogurt. I also made some broccolli and cheese soup, it was super yummy but I could only eat 3 bites lol.
  20. I was sleeved on 11/30/11 and so far I have lost 16 pounds. At my consult on 9/26/11 I was 250 and I weigh 221 right now.
  21. You look amazing! What a change!? Congrats on your success!
  22. Congrats that is so awesome! I am at 222 right now and I can't wait to see the number 200 on my scale. Hopefully it will be sooner that later! Anyways enough about me congratulations to YOU!
  23. So I have this exact problem. Try grabbing a sugar free popsicle or Jello. Some people have even said sucking on ice cubes helps, I don't care to do that but I do munch on popsicles. Keep drinking your fluids! That's the best thing for you to be doing. Here are some things I do when I am going crazy for munchy Snacks. I take a walk, I do my nails, I put lotion on,I shave my legs, I tidy the house, I vacuum, I do wordsearches/crosswords/sudoku, I do leg lifts, I grab some small weights and work my arms, I get online either here or I play games at iwin.com. This one is silly but I color LOL. I have a 2.5 year old daughter and when I'm really bored I will grab her coloring books and crayons or markers and color. My boyfriend actually told me that when he went to rehab that coloring was something the therapists encouraged the people to do. It is theraputic I guess. Just try and stay busy, keep the junk out of your house, and keep sip sip sipping. You sound like you are doing really good just keep up the good work. Good Luck!
