Hey eveyone. I have not been on here much since my surgery but i have a question for anyone who can help. Im sure this topic has been discussed before but i cant find anything on it. My surgery was 7 months ago & all has went perfectly. I started at 267 and am down to 180. All is well except some loose skin in my abdomen area. Its not bad at all but im assuming all the sit ups in the world wont tighten the loose skin up. I also shold mention im 41 now so its all part of my age as well. Im wondering if there is a lotion or ointment or something that has helped anone else?? I dont have stretch marks or anything just loose skin. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Some tightening of the loose skin will most likely happen over first year after surgery. No lotion will help, but might feel good!

Unfortenatley loose/excess comes with the package as a result of rapid weight loss. You can't avoid it but you sure can minimise it by doing simple workouts/excersises. However, the skin will not just magically snap back to its original preop state you will have to work hard to achieve this.

There are no creams that i am aware of that reduce loose skin but since you are seven months postop i think your only option is to workout, at least walk/jog for 5 miles a day that should help a lot over a period of 12-18 months.

Unfortunately no creams, lotions, moisturizers or anything else will help you, or me for that matter lol. I feel your pain I am only a few weeks post-op but I had a c-section when I had my daughter in 2009. I also have some flab in the belly area. I am 26 but I know I am gunna have some hangy skin! I try and say I will feel proud. I am proud of my c-section scar, and I will be proud if I am thin but have some loose skin too!

That's what I say anyways, who knows how I will actually feel when I am in that position LOL.

You need to be working your abs every single day, and you need to be working the crap outta them. It won't be easy to get rid of the flab but if you put the work in you will get results. It won't be easy but you can totally do it. Good Luck.

I use a stability ball and do abdominal and oblique (sp?) crunches while sitting on the ball. I find it easier than doing regular crunches, and I still get all of the benefits. I'm 40, and I definitely have loose skin in my belly area. Still, I know my belly area looks a heck of a lot better than it did just a few months ago. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
