Hey there...I was sleeved on Sept 8th and I totally can relate to what you are saying!! I am down 34lbs and I definately feel thinner, but mostly because my clothes are starting to get so baggy. I still look so big to myself tho and feel like I have so far to go. I'm trying to take one day at a time. I'm starting to get hungrier tho and that scares me a bit. I'm a "grazer" and its sooo hard to break that bad habit. I get

discouraged with the slower wt loss, but try to tell myself its for the good so I don't flap in the wind with the extra skin...LOL! Good luck with your journey. Sounds as if you are doing awesome!!!

I agree with Caitlyn. It is way too soon for you to enjoy the benefits of the surgery. Just get lots of R&R at this time and try to distract yourself with other things to fight the "brain hunger". I struggle with that also but I am almost 7wks post op and I'm down 31lbs...woo hoo!!! I'm feeling well and trying to keep up with the exercise regiem.

Not back to work yet..that shall be the ultimate challenge! I can't tell you how nice it feels to have looser clothes. Way better feeling then being stuffed with food!!

Good luck with your journey...Don"t give up, give yourself a chance to heal and change your mindset. Remember, the sleeve is a tool and you need to use it with a program that fits your lifestyle.

I too, am a so. cal kaiser pt and went throught the options class in Fontana, Ca. I am one mo. post op now from having vsg surgery with Dr. Fedorka. So far so good!!

I am down 25lbs...woo hoo!! At first I was fatigued and felt like I was tired alot but now I have my energy back and it feels so awesome to be loosing weight and having my clothes fit looser. I just returned from a 4 day vacation with my sis (somewhat of a challege with the eating) but weighed this am and lost 3 additional lbs. Man, was I thrilled!!

Never in my lifetime have I lost weight on a vacation?!! Awesome!!! I am 55 years old and have 2 adult children. My husband and children are supportive of my journey.

Can"t get use to the feeling of feeling full after one scrambled egg and applesauce...a blessing!! Good Luck to you!! The Kaiser program is a long haul but they are awesome and very good.

Who is your surgeon?

Keep up your good work with your pre-op diet. I wasn't that good...lost only 4lbs prior to surgery!!

Hi....I was just "sleeved" on 9/08. I can assure you that you will want at least two weeks off!! Its exhausting and you need to get your protein and hydration in and believe me thats a big job!! You need to concentrate on healing and recovering and nothing else if possible. My surgeon stated that he won't send any of his patients back to work before 3 wks! I'm trying for 4 if I can! My recovery is going well but the incisions are tender and I'm still bloated. Down 12.3lbs though WOO HOO!!

Hello there....I was "sleeved" on 9/08. I didn't experience the gas pains that you talk about (thank God) however, I did have lots of nausea. I had nothing in my stomach so when I would try to vomit, nothing came out so it was painful because of the incisions. I too got the scopalamine patch and it seemed to do the trick.

I'm home now and trying to rest and recover. I've lost 10.3lbs according to the scale...woo hoo!!! I'm focusing on trying to get my protein in. A difficult task for me cuz

most all the shakes I've tried are gross!! No real hunger yet but my mind is playing tricks on me and when my family is eating I still seem to crave food!! I'm hoping that

subsides.

Today is exactly one week post op. I'm planning to go for a nice walk this am. Looking forward to getting out and getting some fresh air

I am taking the multi vitamin (chewable) x 2/day. dissolvable prevacid, biotin and vit b-12. no calcium supplements yet

Hey there!! I just had my VSG last Thurs 9/08. The surgery went fantastic, so I'm told! The immediate post op was a bit rough. I became very nauseated and it lasted about 3 days. Had to stay in the hospital for one extra day because I couldn't get my fluids in and needed the IV support. But, I am home now and recovering nicely.

Hardly any pain (only taken my liquid vicodin x1) Trying to keep hydrated and get the protein in which is quite the task!! The protein shakes are difficult for me to

injest. I know I have to though for proper healing.

Anyhow, best of luck to you with the procedure. You won't remember anything in the OR.
