SURGERY DATE -Has been scheduled

Well On the 15th of AugustI went to visit my Dr. and Today I received a call that I am to meet with The Dr, again on the 22 of September for my pre-op appointment and on the 29th will be the beginning of my new journey.. I am excited but and nervous I feel as if I am about to have a baby or something just thrilled and anxious to begin my new journey in life..I do have one concern though, I am having surgery on Thursday and I wanted to know if I would be ok to go back to work on Monday after the surgery, I work in an office I pretty much have my own office handle calls, paperwork give my boss coffee and whatever is needed from me... If anyone has had the surgery can you please advise me on what i should do after the sugery on getting back to work..

LAP-BAND Patients

I can almost promise you that you will need to be off from work at least a week. I went back in a week and even with my desk job I was completely exhausted and still bloated. I would suggest one week if not two.

Gastric Sleeve Patients

Hi....I was just "sleeved" on 9/08. I can assure you that you will want at least two weeks off!! Its exhausting and you need to get your protein and hydration in and believe me thats a big job!! You need to concentrate on healing and recovering and nothing else if possible. My surgeon stated that he won't send any of his patients back to work before 3 wks! I'm trying for 4 if I can! My recovery is going well but the incisions are tender and I'm still bloated. Down 12.3lbs though WOO HOO!!

GOOD LUCK WITH THE JOURNEY!!!:P
