  1. Great question. I have been wondering the same thing. Thanks.
  2. I'm not banded yet, but I had this same concern and asked my PCP. He said almost all medications can be found in liquid form. My local CVS has a sign that lists at least a dozen or more flavors for liquid medications. Hope this helps.
  3. I'm so glad to hear cheese is not a problem for most of you. I love cheese and would really miss it if I had to cut it from my diet.
  4. You've come to the right place for information. I lurked for 4 months before introducing myself last week. I hope you find the information you are looking for and Good Luck with your decision.
  5. Welcome Brandy and congrats on your band. I am still in the pre stages, and new here to. BTW what are you studing? Good luck to you! Ang
  6. Thanks for the welcome sbee. I am not a teacher, I am an LPN and returning to school to get my RN. I look forward to getting to know you and everyone here. Ang
  7. Thanks for the welcome. Wanabthin, congrats on your band. I hear that Cincinnati Weight Loss Center is one of the best places to have WLS. I'm going to be banded at Barix Clinics in Groveport by Dr. Viglianco. A friend of mine had her rny there and she raved about the care she received. Lottie, your wait is almost over. 2-3 months and you will be banded. I can't wait for that day. My insurance company is Principal/Ohio Health Choice. I've jumped through a few hoops with them, but I am thankful they will cover my band. Thanks again for the welcome, and I can't wait to get to know everyone here.
  8. Wow, everything moved so quick for you. Congrats and best of luck!!
  9. I have my psych evaluation this Thursday. She said the appt. will be 2 1/2 to 3 hrs long. I thought that was a long time too, but my DH said "This is a major life change for you, not a month or even a year "diet", its your whole life. Whats 3 hours when you are talking about 40 or 50 years?" Didn't think of it that way, and it does make alittle more sense when you put it that way. Hope it helps to know we are all going through the same red tape you are . Hang in... we'll get through it together. Ang
  10. Hi all! I have been reading and gathering info from this board for about 4 months. I have learned so much from everyone here. I haven't posted before because I didn't feel like it was actually going to happen for me. Now here I am 4 months into the process and finally allowing myself to believe it. I have completed everything my surgeon required me to do, now.... yes thats right.... doing the insurance dance. I have finished 4 months of the 6 supervised diet, and now they say I have to do 6-12 months visits with a dietation. Why didn't they tell me this before?!? I am alittle upset, but I know these are things that everyone goes through. I have my 1st sleep over tonight at the sleep center, and Thur. I have my psych evaluation. Looks like I will be getting a date sometime after the new year . Alittle about me, I am married to a wonderful man (2 yrs in November) have 3 children adoped son 22, adoped daughter 24, and step daughter 25 (I call them all mine and would fight anyone who said anything different). I have 5 of the prettiest grandbabies in the world (all under the age of 5). I work full time and I'm getting ready to return to school in the fall. I have been over weight the majority of my life, and obese for about 15 years. I have PCOS, so I have stuck with a low carb lifestyle for most of my adult life....... Ok I have strayed once or twice . I have considered having WLS for a few years now, but just now got serious about it. Thats about it. I look forward to getting to know everyone here and sharing our journey together. Ang
