Hello from Ohio

Hi all! I have been reading and gathering info from this board for about 4 months. I have learned so much from everyone here. I haven't posted before because I didn't feel like it was actually going to happen for me. Now here I am 4 months into the process and finally allowing myself to believe it. I have completed everything my surgeon required me to do, now.... yes thats right.... doing the insurance dance. I have finished 4 months of the 6 supervised diet, and now they say I have to do 6-12 months visits with a dietation. Why didn't they tell me this before?!? I am alittle upset, but I know these are things that everyone goes through. I have my 1st sleep over tonight at the sleep center, and Thur. I have my psych evaluation. Looks like I will be getting a date sometime after the new year rolleyes.gif.

Alittle about me, I am married to a wonderful man (2 yrs in November) have 3 children adoped son 22, adoped daughter 24, and step daughter 25 (I call them all mine and would fight anyone who said anything different). I have 5 of the prettiest grandbabies in the world (all under the age of 5). I work full time and I'm getting ready to return to school in the fall. I have been over weight the majority of my life, and obese for about 15 years. I have PCOS, so I have stuck with a low carb lifestyle for most of my adult life....... Ok I have strayed once or twice biggrin.gif. I have considered having WLS for a few years now, but just now got serious about it.

Thats about it. I look forward to getting to know everyone here and sharing our journey together.

Ang

Hi! I'm from Ohio too. I was just banded by Dr. Osbourn from Cincinnati Weight Loss Center on Friday. Just wondering where you are being banded at. Good luck! I'm so glad I didn't have to go thru all of that. Congratulations on getting this far. I hope the time goes by fast for you.

Hi Ang,

Congratulations On Your Decision To Go Through With The Lapband Procedure. I Have Not Been Band But Waiting Insurance Approval Also.

What Insurance Do You Have?

I Have Bcbs Of Alabama. They Require 6 Months Supervised Weight Loss. I Am Into My 4th Month. I Hope To Be Band Either October Or November.

Sounds Like You Have Wonderful Children And Grandchildren.

This Site Is A Wonderful Support. Join Us In The Chatroom Sometimes. The Group Is Wonderful And Everyone Is So Nice And Supportive.

I Look Forward To Helping You Any Way Possible To Support You During Your Journey. I Need The Support Also.

Thanks for the welcome.

Wanabthin, congrats on your band. I hear that Cincinnati Weight Loss Center is one of the best places to have WLS. I'm going to be banded at Barix Clinics in Groveport by Dr. Viglianco. A friend of mine had her rny there and she raved about the care she received.

Lottie, your wait is almost over. 2-3 months and you will be banded. I can't wait for that day. My insurance company is Principal/Ohio Health Choice. I've jumped through a few hoops with them, but I am thankful they will cover my band.

Thanks again for the welcome, and I can't wait to get to know everyone here.

Welcome to the Forum,

I'm from Ohio too. I saw that you said you were going back to school soon are you a teacher? I'm currently still in my pre-banding phase but I know my day will come and so will yours. Good luck
