  1. I know the dimensions of the plane seats... I am just curious how they compare to seat I sat in yesterday that I didn't quite fit in...
  2. Has anyone who has flown recently been to the pepsi coliseum? Are the seat sizes at the coliseum smaller, same or bigger than plane seats? I know SWA has 17 1/4 in width seats but I didn't have a measuring tape with me yesterday and I can't find the seat dimensions online. If plane seats are the same or smaller than the pepsi coliseum I now know I need to buy 2 seats. If the plane seats are even 1/2-1 inch bigger I can make it work (albeit uncomfortably). I can force myself into the pepsi coliseum seats but its rather painful. I ended up moving and sitting on the stairs. I did find someone online on another forum about the coliseum saying that they are about avg size and can barely fit so I am hoping the coliseum seats are just unusually small. Also, I haven't flown since about a month after my first was born and he turned 5 yesterday, so its been a good long while so I don't remember this part. At the coliseum the arm rests were at hip level (which is why it hurt)... are plane arm rests @ waist or hip level?
  3. I'm pre-op and just kinda taking a test run of things (protien shot, gatorage Protein drinks, the shakes and greek yogurt). It took me awhile to finish the shake and I was very full when I was done... I can't even imagine how you post-op ppl do it . I *thought* protein shots where gonna be the way to go but the one I got tasted h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e!! So, I have another question... if its normal for the shakes to fill you up like that how on earth do you have room to EAT anything post-op?? I have my entire stomach still and after drinking that the mere thought of eating made me wanna purge! How on earth do you get the rest of you nutrition in the rest of the day???? I am serious I was so full I considered drinking a couple of those a couple times a day from now till my sleeve to help me lose some of the weight (tbh I even though about it as an "instead of" idea, but I know it wouldn't last forever, eventually I would want real food and gain it all back) but I don't know how healthy that would be and I also don't want to lose so much that they won't do my surgery (like I said, I know it will come back w/o surgery) so If it was THAT potent for a non-sleeved stomach how on earth do you sleevers manage????
  4. I tried an 8 oz glass of Protein shake last night does my reaction make sense? Initially, I felt satiated and was loving the fact that I had absolutely no interest/craving for food, although I couldn't figure out why I suddenly was so tired (isn't protein supposed to give you an energy boost?). Then I kinda got nauseous.... I started belching ALOT (with a little "re-uptake"). Hours later I was still uninterested in food when I laid down to go to sleep. Normally I am not interested, even remotely in eating until noon at the earliest, but today I woke up STARVING! Is this pretty typical when adjusting to Protein drinks, or am I a total odd ball??
  5. I am sorry you are going through this. (((((HUGS)))) The gallbladder is one of those organs that we can live without but that we do need. I had my gallbladder removed @ 16 and basically went through hell for 2 years after and could barely keep anything down without choking down this chalky stuff, and I honestly believe its the reason I have IBS now (because of the bile). Your doc may have been hoping your gallbladder issues would have worked itself out. Honestly, after what I went through to add that to the sleeve..... well, I am glad it worked out as it did *for me*
  6. I subbed you! I am watching your vids now BTW, its not much.... a little lame even, maybe... I don't know. Never done this b4, lol, but I also have one which you can get to via a link in my signature. The link takes you to my written blog that contains a link to my Vlog, I just didn't want to lose that first post untill I can create a montage or something to replace it.
  7. BTW, can someone plz tell me how to reply on the persons channel? It is such a pain to watch a vid, then turn around and have to find it outside the channel page just to comment! NVM, I FINALLY figured it out... its all the way at the freaking bottom!!!
  8. As many posts of your's that I have seen I can't believe I missed that! Doh!
  9. I have been watching the vids of those ppl I could find that had them but I have been able to find 1 or 2 ppl so far. So who all has a YouTube Vlog chronicaling (sp?) their WLS journey??
  10. Sounds like things are really moving along for you!!! YAY!! Good luck! I bet you will love everything about you new bod... might even help you start thinking thin KUP! I can't wait to see pics!!
  11. I USED to be that way. I remember one time (it happened more I am just recounting the once though) that I was about 11 or 12 and we were moving. adults were working on getting heavy stuff out and there was a recliner in my way. I had been told not to left things that heavy b4 many times because, according to them, it would "mess up my insides" and I wouldn't "be able to have kids". Well, I didn't want to get yelled at for not helping at all and the chair wasin my way so I couldn't get anything else and I figured if I am gonna get yelled at I might as well DO something to get yelled at for. So I picked up the recliner, by myself, and carried it in the house. I actually DIDN'T get yelled at because it was in the house b4 the other came out of the bedroom they had taken a mattress and box springs to. They each assumed the other brought the chair and and no one had a clue lol. So, anyway, like I was saying I USED to be really strong. Then I got older and got preg was only allowed to lift up to 5 pounds (which doesn't leave much you CAN lift) for 9 months and my muscles atrophied and since have only gotten worse since having surgery on my wrist which makes it painful to lift things. My muscles were very compact though, never bulky (except my calves) so I am not worried about bulking up too much. Although I do plan to get close to goal b4 I worry about strength training so I *don't* bulk up. With my frame I look too much like a man as it is lol. If I bulk up, my boobs deflate and I cut my hair ppl are gonna call me sir lol.I would love to get my strength back.... but I don't wanna look like a dude
  12. If I could "spot treat" I would do the same. I have what I have always heard called "cheerleader calves", and always have. I used to think it was fat so I started targeting that area during my workouts and they got BIGGER! My youngest has them too but at least guys don't get a second look if they have huge muscular calves. I am kinda concerned what my legs are gonna look like when I lose the weight on my thighs and my calves remain HUGE!! :behindsofa: Or worse... get bigger again from working out!! :dizzy::faint:
  13. Many have said they received a post-op "bible" with all their post op info from their physician b4 heading home. Does Dr. Aceves also give these out? I am interested in being as informed as humanly possible about my post-op life BEFORE I have the surgery. If he does do this is there anyone willing to scan the pages (or clear pics would work too, I have software that can enlarge things without harming the integrity provided they are clear shots and this may even be easier for you) and e-mail them to me so I can read them? If so please PM me and I will give you my e-mail addy. Thanks in advance!
  14. CONGRATS!!! Good luck and KUP!!
  15. LMAO!! I do know they come in pills
  16. Basically it talks about how the body is reluctant to burn fat so it will burn muscle instead. we want our body to be anabolic (muscle building) instead of catabolic (muscle burning). He recommends exercise and creatine, glutamine and whey protein to help signal the body to be anabolic. It talks about how they gave it to muscle builder and it helped them, then elderly and it helped them as well so they gave it to elderly to improve brain function and it helped, then they gave it to mice and gave them a stroke and it decreased the size of the stoke, so they gave it to mice in general and it increased their life span by I think it was 10%. That is ALOT of benefits from just a few supplements that we either could be taking or may already be taking (like in some protein drinks). I found it to be quite impressive!
  17. Yay for today and good luck with your second opinion!!
  18. Good luck Wednesday! Just keep busy tomorrow by making sure everything is clean and packed and you have post op supplies so you have less to worry about the day of your sleeve and when you get home.
  19. either in that video or another one he said you can get them a "walmart, GNC or amazon" so I am pretty sure it would be at walgreens or CVS or the like.
  20. I know, right? I had never hear of it until today. There is another one mentioned in another video.... seratin or something like that.... you can watch the vid for for yourself if you would want to know what it is... just follow the link.
  21. This video was made with bypass patients in mind but I think it is really good info for ANY WLS, and even b4 WLS. It discusses the prevention of muscle loss in WLS patients. I found it to be very informative, hopefully someone else will too! <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SZ8Z4TAew-A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> More really informative videos found here: http://www.youtube.c...u/3/6SHQ20ssAgg
