  1. Thanks everyone! No, I didn't know that about Prilosec. Good to know about the erosion! I'll have to get that checked out. Thanks!!
  2. Hi All, I had surgery in Mexico in August. There is ALWAYS this hunger/ gnawing feeling. It was horrible the first day out of surgery..At the time I thought it was hunger pains, but learned it was acid. I've tried Prilosec, Zantac, you name it. But the gnawing comes and goes. Is this an ucler? Do I need an upper GI? Anyone else have this prob? THANK You all so much for reading!!!
  3. Krista, BELIEVE in yourself. I was in a NIGHTMARE relationship and will forever have the guy around, as I had a child with him. I did this weight loss surgery for myself in Aug and have never looked back. 45 pounds down, I feel like a new person. I'm starting to go online to the dating sites and whatnot and am still afraid to write the "cute" people. It's all about how you feel--- an attitude--- you DESERVE it. Whatever it may be in a man.. Go out and get it!!! I hope that philosophy works for me as well one day! Go for it! But again, it all boils down to YOU. Believe in yourself....
  4. Thanks everyone! I'll sound more educated now when people ask me. All I knew is that it sounded more dangerous and that it was more pricey. Haha.
  5. Hi! So, for me, this is kinda after the fact, since I am sleeved, but why did you all choose the sleeve vs. gastric bypass? They re-route your intestines for bypass, correct? Just curious why in your opinion, the sleeve is better than the bypass. Thanks!! (My friend's mom just did the bypass and it got my wheels in the brain turning.)
  6. Duh, I just noticed your posting is really old. Oops! Sorry! YOu can tell I'm tired! haha
  7. I'm also five weeks out and kinda hate life. Eating was ENJOYABLE before. I look at everyone longingly that they can actually eat yummy food. I'm so tired on the weekends that I'm basically worthless and just wait for me and my son's naptime! I hope this passes soon.
  8. I have that same yucky headcold from daycare. I was wondering if we could take anything. All good info! Feel better! I also got sleeved the same day as you. (In Mexico) Too funny!
  9. My Ex YELLED and screamed at me for WEEKS, months , years, and now, after Ive gone to Mexico. My parents have no idea I went. I lied and said I had to work that week and couldnt find daycare. Thank God my friends were 1000000 percent supportive. So, I feel you. My mother said the same kind of thing.... "you eat less with surgery, right, so why not do that without surgery"? They'd FREAK if they knew. Will I ever tell them? Sure, when Im thin and hot... But not now. So, I feel you. Hang in there. You need to do what's right for YOU. Sorry about the loan thing. I did mine on a credit card and did Dr Kelly , so he was a little less. But you'll find a way. Where there's a will.. there's a way!
  10. Thanks everyone! Back to broth today... Blahhhh.
  11. EXACLTY. Everything but popsicles sit in my throat. I'll try the pureed chili. Good idea! Hot chocolate at work seems to be my friend also. And that's about it. Thanks for the tips!
  12. Hello again party people! I know Dr Kelly said no advil or anything like that. Umm, so I guess Tylenol is the only option, correct? I forgot to ask! All of these questions seem to come as I trod along.. Baby steps! Thanks!!
  13. Hello! It seems like I'm always starving and when I eat a bite of cottage cheese, it just hurts going down. Were you all still on the broth stage at this point? Thanks!
