  1. Tonight is Purim. Remember, no hamantashen. But the megillah reading should be fun.
  2. I'm glad things are looking up for you.
  3. I don't know about your dietitian, but mine told me not to eat squash or potatoes.
  4. I'm from Mass. I had a sleeve done at Emerson Hospital in Concord on July 8th.
  5. I'm not sure that a messianic Jew is actually a Jew. As for me, I consider myself to be reform.
  6. I had my sleeve done there in July! Edited to add that for insurance I have MassHealth with the managed care plan Neighborhood Health.
  7. I wanted to add that I was so happy to get back on Concerta. Like you, I hate Ritalin for the same reasons.
  8. I switched from Concerta to Ritalin for about 6 weeks until I was given the go ahead to swallow pills whole again.
  9. Congratulations!!!!
  10. I've recently figured out that I'm lactose intolerant. I'm 11 days post op and am currently on full liquids. The protein shakes are making me sick. It's not as bad now that I've stopped using skim milk and started using almond milk instead, but it still makes me a little sick. I think the problem might be the powders that I'm using. I currently use Pure Protein and EAS. Does anyone have any suggestions for protein powders that I can use?
  11. I have a toy size poodle. He weighs 7.5 pounds. He likes to climb on me and I'm afraid that his nails will rip off my steri strips because I'm only 8 days post op. So far, I've had other people in the household take care of him for me. However, I feel bad because I'm not really spending any time him. When do you think my incisions will be healed enough that I can spend some time with my dog?
  12. Welcome to the site!
  13. Congratulations on getting a date!!!
  14. Happy birthday!!! I hope it's a great one!
  15. Unfortunately, you have not been sleeved yet so you still have a normal stomach producing ghrelin so it's only natural that you're hungry. I have no real words of wisdom but I want to offer you my support.
  16. I was told that Tylenol is fine. I was told to either take liquid or crush the tablets.
  17. I also had surgery on July 8th and I started driving yesterday. My doctor told me I would be fine as long as I am off pain killers for 24 hours. That said, you should do what your doctor tells you.
  18. I was told not to lift anything over 10 pounds and no vigorous activity. I'm only 5 days out so I don't know if that will change at my two week follow up or if I'll have to wait longer. But I'd definitely consider horse back riding to be a vigorous activity.
  19. Maybe pepper, but I would avoid sea salt because I think you're supposed to be on a low sodium diet. At least I'm on a low sodium diet.
