Maybe pepper, but I would avoid sea salt because I think you're supposed to be on a low sodium diet. At least I'm on a low sodium diet.

Making it doesn't have to be complicated. I buy a whole chicken. But for broth only purposes just buying some cut up bone in pieces and boiling them with salt pepper and garlic powder will work. When the chicken is falling off the bone it's pretty much done. Take the chicken out and you can shred it off the bone and freeze or use for your family that week, strain any pieces out of the broth and there you go!

Store bought chicken broth is very salty already, so I wouldn't add salt to them. If you buy lo sodium broth, you're doing it for a reason, so why would u add salt to it?

I would say pepper, hot sauce, other spices would be fine. Good luck! I'll be joining you in the liquids only on Monday (surgery is Tues)

Thank you I appreciate! We're you required to do any diet prior to the clear liquids day before? I'm just curious? Because I see a lot of others were and its making me nervous why I wasnt

I needed the salt. The protein shakes generally don't have any salt and the body needs salt. Drinking broths gave me energy -- because of the salt!
