  2. The next support group meeting at Synergy is Thursday Jan 30th.
  3. I watched it last night too! It was very hard to watch. But it's important to remember that everyone is fighting their own battle that we know nothing about. It's hard to watch people make mistakes but who are we to judge? She needs emotional and spiritual help just like any other person who is addicted to drugs.
  4. Hey Queen City! Just saw your post for your approval!! Great news! Hope your pre-op diet is going well! Good luck with your surgery!! My best advice is to take care of yourself and follow the guidelines you've learned as best you can after surgery. Be prepared for some discomfort after surgery but understand most of the hardship will be a distant memory in a few short months! Also I felt the nurses were great at sisters they took great care of me! Don't be afraid to tell them what you need! Also the patch for nausea worked wonders for me! I highly recommend you tell the anesthesiologist that pain Meds make you nauseous! And don't take the patch off! You can keep in on for 3-5 days! Good luck! ~Mary

    Rotten breath?

My dentist says it often happens with low carb diets.
  6. Jillette thanks for sharing! I will look for the shakes next time at bj's. I seem to only tolerate the carnation with added protein. But there are a lot of carbs in it. I was so sick of cinnamon bun that I threw the last couple scoops out with the trash I couldn't even smell it anymore! Lol! Amber glad you are doing well! The first week sucks but you will start to feel better everyday. Take it easy and don't overdue it!
  7. My surgeon also said no to gummies they said they don't digest well enough in the sleeves.
  8. I really enjoyed it! Had some everyday first week post op.
  9. I found them at tops! The orange cream and vanilla are really good also!
  10. It is good to go before surgery too. My pcp advised me to go while I was considering surgery. They had a PA there who talked she was very informative! I should see you there!
  11. There is a support group meeting this Thursday at 6:30 I am planning on going to. Anyone else?
  12. I also have a fear of throwing up. Before surgery I told the anesthesiologist and nurse that I would need anti-nausea medication. They hooked me up with a patch placed behind my ear. Then while in the hospital they have me anti nausea Meds every few hours. However, My first day back home I ate a whole Popsicle and threw the whole thing up and continued to dry heave and throw up a few more times and into Friday. Called Friday morning they had me come in and Nicole sent me home with some Zofran that would dissolve under my tongue instead of having to swallow (which swallowing the pills was making me gag too). It worked wonders and I haven't thrown up or dry heaved since. I didn't even need to finish the prescription either! Side effects of the pain Meds can be nausea so Nicole suggested that I could take extra strength Tylenol for the pain instead of the loritab which I had gagged on and the liquid version was just as gross! Once the Zofran was in my system I was able to take the Tylenol. Good luck to you! Don't be afraid to speak up when you don't feel well or share your concerns! Take care!

  15. Hi all! Just found this thread! I was sleeved by Dr Caveretta on July 23. I've lost 20lbs so far. The first week was hard, the 2nd week i suffered from dehydration and the 3rd week I feel almost back to myself. I actually love synergy! They took care of me every step of the way. They saw me the same day i called when i was so sick 4 days post op. After reading posts on this site I can't believe how much more knowledge I have than others. I feel that they armed us with great information. Of course I am a dork and read the packets through and through before and after surgery. I loved Ann Marie and Nicole. I loved the required classes we had to take. To me they were extremely educational and helpful. I met both Caruana and Caveretta both seemed a little stuffy but their successful surgeries speak for themselves. I can't believe it will be a month on Tuesday already!

    My fitness pal!

Just sent invitation! What great support!
  17. Got mine 2 days before surgery; I let the nurse know as they were prepping me and she totally took care of me. Gave me a whole pack of hospital maternity pads but no "cheese cloth" as I had at least hoped for. The bleeding did last longer than normal didn't realize it was because of the blood thinners. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal though!

    July 2013 Sleevers

I am also on myfitnesspal! But I can only add through an email address. You can add me at maryewrz@yahoo.com
  19. I got the recipe from another post which was originally from the website the world according to eggface. Check it out! There's even posts on Pinterest! Shelley's baked ricotta 8oz of ricotta cheese 1/2 c parm cheese 1 egg beaten Salt and pepper Italian seasoning 1/2 c tomato sauce 1/2 c LF mozzarella cheese Mix in a bowl the ricotta, parm, egg, and seasonings then spread over in a pan. I used an 8x8. Then top with 1/2 c of tomato sauce. Then 1/2 cup low fat mozzarella cheese. Bake at 450* for 20-25 minutes. It made about 9 servings. When family was over having pizza I had a piece of my ricotta. I really didn't feel deprived at all! Good luck!
  20. Also a big fan! My favorite was her one of everything diet...one doughnut, one green bean...don't know if I can read them now they always make me crave doughnuts and pot roast w/mashed potatoes!
  21. Sleeved July 23, am down 17lbs. I haven't been able to lose 17lbs on my own since before my daughter was born 5 1/2 years ago! I am down one size in pants and my tops are looser. Such a great feeling. My weight loss was definitely fast the first week and a half then has slowed down considerably to 1/2lb every 2 days or so. BUT I have lost faster than I have on any other wl plan. So I'll take it! My typical diet: Breakfast: 1 scrambled egg w/low fat cheese or a shake 4oz S: baby bell light cheese Lunch: 2.5 oz of tuna salad S: SF Protein pudding Dinner: baked ricotta (my new fav food!) S: 2-4oz of protein shake I was drinking Gatorade because I was severely dehydrated the 2nd week in. But now just add it to my Water throughout the day. Exercise: walking, light cleaning and 'running after' my 2 kids age 3-5. Also my resistance bands every other day. Hope to get in the gym 3-4 a week in the next week or so. Enjoying my journey one day at a time. This forum is extremely useful and helpful! Good luck all!

    Mood swings

Mood swings and depression could also be a side effect of some of the medications. Reglan is used to help with nausea; and depression and anxiety attacks are a side effect of this medication! Check the labels on your medication and ask for a different med or seek a therapist to help you cope in a more healthy way! I have found listening to meditation music when stressed to be relaxing and yoga is also helpful. A good workout is also helpful!
  23. My NUT said not to use boost or ensure it is to made for people to gain weight! And the Special K ones do not have as much Protein as you need. I did add unflavored Protein powder to the 'no sugar' added carnation with skim milk and have found it much more tolerable than the regular Protein Shakes.
