  1. Was the food included in the total cost of your surgery or did you have to pay extra for it?
  2. Oh Also look into Protein Water The one I've been drinking is the Muscle Milk brand 60calories and 10grams of protein zero sugar.
  3. So I just punched in a sample diet into Sparks people....here's what I came up with. Breakfast 3 egg whites w/ 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese lunch 3 ounces skinless chicken breast 1 cup of salad (no dressing but you could add a small amount) dinner 1 4oz ground turkey burger (no bun) 1/2 cup of baked potato 1 cup of green Beans That alone is 546 calories. And 68 grams of Protein. If you add in 2 100 calorie Protein shakes that have at least 15grams of protein each you'll catch your minimum protein without going over your daily calories. I don't know what protein source you're using but I found a ready made drink called ZOIC that is 100cal and 15 grams of protein that tastes decent. HTH
  4. I feel nauseous not sure if that's from not eating/drinking anything or if It's because I am NOT freaking out. On a related note...yesterday Morning I was 5lbs heavier.. So I'm down a full 20lbs pre-op now.
  5. I'm 5ft 10 with a large heavy bone structure (seriously my head is off the charts LOL!) I'm having surgery on Friday and am wondering how low to go. I mean I was always a curvy girl (now I'm just lumpy) I was extremely active at 190lbs and think thats an Ok place for me to shoot for even though the charts say My top weight should be 178lbs. LOL Anyway I'm interested in how you do on this adventure to see if I end up being "normal" for a larger woman. OO and I just noticed that we are the same age (well I'm 5months older than you)
  6. I will be taken into the OR and have most of my stomach removed. Am I crazy? What should I expect from the surgery prep?
  7. Those are some heavy duty antibx be sure that you're either eating a lot of yogurt or taking acidophilus or other pro-biotics so your lower digestive tract isn't stripped completely of all bacteria.
  8. Hey Honey, While I was in California I decided to jump the border and donate 85% of my stomach to the study and prevention of obesity....so thats why I have incisions and am eating differently.
  9. I have had friends offer to make freezer meals for me which I accepted and will be picking up on Thursday (day before surgery) I also bought some things that I know my 4 kids and hubby will like but I absolutely will not eat ever (Hamburger helper blech) I have made 3 different types of soup (then blended and strained them) and frozen them in ice cube trays then transfered the cubes to freezer bags so I have a quick meal should I feel the need to make a hasty retreat from the kitchen.
  10. I think I'm just not going to step on a scale for the first month out LOL Then I won't be obsessing about the 1wk 2 wk 3 wk stalls I may experience I'll just b e like WOO HOO I lost 5lbs (or whatever)
  11. I have 2 more days before surgery (Friday Morning 8am!) EEEP. I'm freaking out a little more every day. Which I assume is 100%normal right? On to the TMI (AVERT YOUR EYES SQUEEMISH PEOPLE!) Elemental Iron has always given my digestive system fits...as in I have needed large quantities of laxatives after consuming it. Every single shake I have looked at or tried has 20% of the daily value of Iron in it in the form of Ferrous Sulfate which is bad when you're drinking 3-5of them a day. I know I haven't been eating anything solid for 5 days now which may be what is the majority of the problem, but I feel like I need to go...and can't! Or only go a very small amount. I'm not looking forward to the potential for straining post surgery (btdt w/ c-sections...NOT PLEASANT!!!!) gah I don;t even know what I'm asking....LOL I need advice I guess.
  12. As sole proprietor I have always felt it my "duty" to make sure my cupcakes and icings tasted good LOL. Guess I'll just have to trust my brain and bakers intuition now eh?
  13. Can someone tell me why I chose this profession? I mean really? Was it the being surrounded by sugar and butter on bake days that appealed to me or what? Sigh. Last order for the next 6wks going out right now.
  14. We'll always have PCOS, but the reduction in body weight means a reduction in insulin resistance. It may make conception easier for you, or it may be no change. I am one of the lucky few who has not suffered infertility...just weird cycles, multiple miscarriages(4 full term pregnancies in there too), weight gain since puberty, and some of the other less than feminine side effects.
  15. So glad that she understand now! (and I so hear you on the PCOS weight loss issues...urgh! CURSES on my metabolic system CURSES!)
  16. Today's your day, hoping and praying that you will feel comfort and love today from all those around you. That your surgery goes well and recovery is easy.
  17. I'll be recovering from surgery on Easter and since we don't live anywhere near any family and I'm not cooking I won't have to deal with it!! WOO HOO! I do feel your pain though folks, HUG
  18. Not feeling so desperate now, threw some protein powder and a crystal light packet into my 32oz of water. Still have to make the kids lunch treats for the week (home made granola bars) so used to snacking on the seeds and chocolate chips, maybe I'll just have my oldest make them with supervision instead of me....
  19. I want food so so badly...it's ridiculous. I'm hungry and can't figure out what will fill me up long enough to hold me. It SUCKS. I find myself wanting to eat every 2 hours or so. Any ideas to help? So far today I have had 2 Protein shakes 32oz of Water 16 oz of iced tea 12 oz of coffee 1 cup of tomato Soup w/ Protein powder 1 cup of butternut squash soup. 1 sugar free popsicle I'm going to grab another 32oz bottle of water out of the fridge. I can drink 3-5 Protein Shakes per day so I've done 3 (the tomato soup w/ protein powder counts as 1 of them) Maybe I'll do another this afternoon before dinner...which will be more soup w/ protein powder. I'm not sure what to do other than watch movies and drink water and sleep. 4 more days right?
  20. Very Good Omen...He's right there with you. Take it with you Monday.
  21. Surgery is in 6 days and I am having daily arguments with myself regarding if I should buy clothes in smaller sizes to have around or not. I think I'm going to see if my cousin (who just lost 60+lbs and is now in a size 8 so proud of her!) has any of her "fat" clothes still We're both really tall for chicks (I'm 5ft 10 she's just shy of 6ft) so I'm pretty sure her stuff will fit the length. Maybe I'll do that. I'm going back home in July I should call her and have her keep stuff if she hasn't gotten rid of it already.
  22. So I figured that Skirts would be a good clothing option to have since they are more forgiving than pants while losing wieght (no saggy seats!) So I went to good will (no sense in paying full price for something I might not be wearing for long) As I was browsing something caught my eye. A black shirt dress with a black and white grosgrain ribbon at the waist and a lovely burnout pattern on the hem. I checked the size...size 12...I have't worn a size 12 since...well since I was 12! I sighed and walked away from the dress. I kept thinking about it as I wandered the "Plus size/maternity" fashions section looking for skirts that are around my current size and could be taken in easily. I walked back to the dress and put it in my cart. Just to think about it. There is no way that I'm going to get to a size 12 right? No way I'd be happy THRILLED at a size 14/16 ya know. Just not in a sz 26/28 anymore. So There I was wandering around Good Will with two skirts, and a shirt dress I make look miniature. But I bought it. It's hanging in my closet now. What am I doing? I can't imagine myself EVER being a size 12 but there it is hanging in my closet...waiting for me. I'm so totally crazy.
  23. Are you female? :-D I ask because it is possible for your body to hold around 5lbs of Water weight right around when Aunt Flo comes to visit
  24. I am on "full liquids" which means as long as it goes through a sieve I'm good. The ONLY time I'm on completely Clear liquids is the day before surgery.
  25. 1 cup chicken broth, 1 scoop unflavored protein powder, black pepper, 1ts of powdered Parm cheese, light grating of fresh nutmeg. Stir heat, eat.
