  1. Knock me over with a feather. I don't know what this means for me.
  2. I recently found Wasa Crispbreads (www.wasa-usa.com) They are AWESOME! I can totally make myself a sandwich now without getting ill because of bread swelling in my tummy! It's FABULOUS!! I have a box of Crisp and Light variety. Serving size is 3 breads but for a sandiwhich I only use 2. 40 calories, 0 Fat, 8 Carbs. and about 1.3 grams of Protein. Tonight's sandwich was cream cheese, home made zucchini relish (zucchini, red peppers, onion, cider vinegar, sugar, mustard powder and tumeric) and some sliced deli turkey. Delish and a total of about 200 calories. 14 carbs, 20 grams of fat (all from the cream cheese LOL!) and 12 grams of protein. I know some won't be happy with the final carb count for this meal but when you're craving a sandwhich this crispbread will hit the spot!

    MMmmm Cottage Pumpkin Pie Cheese

Was wanting something sweet tonight and happened to have an open can of pumpkin. 1/2 cup cottage cheese 1/4 cup pumpkin puree pumpkin pie spice and sugar (substitute) to taste (because I didn't measure...and I used the actual spices not the pre mixed stuff LOL) Stir together...tastes like pumpkin pie to me (although a bit chunkier )
  4. FWIW. I wasn't arguing. :angelsad2: Just wanted to point out that we don't have a pouch or a stoma so that article isn't accurate for us. :shrug We have our pyloric valve to regulate our digestion and gasses will rise up in the form of burps. That's all I was saying.
  5. Ok maybe it's my wildly fluctuating hormones....but that seemed like a bit of a snarky response, to a pretty innocent comment/opinion.
  6. FWIW We don't have a pouch, nor do we have a stoma. We have a fully functioning teeny tiny stomach. So the article above regarding stretching of the pouch and stoma would not apply to us. And honestly the bubbles would not at all have the strength to stretch anything...we'd burp before that happened.

6 months post VSG and Pregnant

Thanks girls. The last couple of days have been a bit rough. No appetite and dizzy nauseous. No puking though so thats a bonus. Today I ate 3 bites of my daughters cheeseburger (she's 22 months she didn't mind LOL) and half a hot dog and some chips at the neighborhood halloween party. Not great choices, but at this point I think the 300 or so calories I actually consumed today is better than none. about halfway through the first trimester now, only more fun and excitement over the next 6 or so weeks. Hoping the Nausea becomes manageable soon Fingers crossed.
  8. So....I'm pregnant....still trying to wrap my head around that.

  9. I'm having Dizzy Spells...BAD ones. Not just "Oh I'm a little woozy" But like the kind where your vision goes dark and you're sure you're going to pass out, but within a few seconds you're ok. It happened shortly after surgery for a couple of weeks and I figured it was just adjusting to the lower level of food, and maybe not being well hydrated. But it's started all over and much worse. What's going on?

That is an extremely uneducated comment. Sodium is essential to life. Too much sodium is a bad thing, Too little Sodium is also a bad thing. http://www.medicinenet.com/hyponatremia/article.htm all things in moderation. That said. I don't think it's hyponatremia. I ate some fairly salty bean and bacon Soup sunday and today (home made yum yum) made with sea salt and the sodium in the bacon of course. It could be a potassium problem. I'll call my Dr. in the morning and see what they want to do.

    Dizzy Spells

I thought maybe I wasn't drinking enough, but the worst episode was on a day when I was sure I had drank at least 4 16oz bottles of Water. It doesn't matter when I've eaten. I was just "undiagnosed" with type 2 diabetes...my A1C is 5.3 now which is normal. It happens if I get up too fast, but not right away it's anytime between 3 steps and 20ft away from where I was sitting.
  15. The only make up I have on is some mascara and sheer lip gloss...this getting healthy business works
  16. two sips of carbonated beverage was enough for me....My body does not like fried food.
  17. Chicken salad...yummy yummy bedtime snacky

  18. yes in the cracker aisle. Where the "specialty" crackers are Breton, Water Crackers, Etc.
  19. 1. NO Balsamic vinegar cannot be used in place of cider vinegar. Balsamic is not acidic enough to preserve the vegetables. 2. This is a very simple canning recipe. Here are the steps I use. 1. Sterilize 1/2 or 1 pint jars in boiling Water or by running them through your dishwasher if it has a sterilize option...keep the jars hot! 2. Put the lids (not the rings but the flat lids) in a small pot and bring to a simmer. 3. Take a hot jar and a clean jar funnel (you can find them with the canning supplies...usually in the cook ware department. fill the jar up leaving about 1/2 inch of space at the top. Wipe the rim and threads of the jar with a damp cloth and then take one of the hot lids (get out the simmering water using either tongs or a magnet) place it on the jar and then secure it with a ring...finger tight. Invert the jar for about 10-20 minutes. Then turn it right side up. The lids will pop, test the seals by pushing the buttons on the lids. if they move they aren't sealed it may take up to 24 hours for the jars to seal. Any that don't seal store in the fridge and use within a couple of weeks.
  20. I need to drink more water dang it.

  21. I'm so sick of being "Stuck" HELP!

  22. In February my A1C (test of blood sugar average) was 11.1. Today I learned that my A1C is 5.3 NORMAL. The diagnosis of type 2 diabetes is being taken off my medical chart.
  23. I have 1.5 hours to do a crap load of stuff. (In Bob the Builder style) CAN I DO IT? YES I CAN! (Uh yeah I think so)

    Now what?/

Don't give up. Your Dr. is legally required to give you 30 days notice and/or transfer care to another physician. Which is sounds like he is doing. It really sounds like you are frustrated and scared. I would suggest calling up the office and speaking to the office manager to ask all your questions. It's unlikely that you'll get bumped down the road/calendar. Be proactive and pushy if you need to be. Hang in there.
