  1. Prayers coming your way! Please keep us all updated on how your doing!
  2. GREAT IDEA! My name is Julie. I am 35 and the proud mother of three wonderful children. My son Josh, will soon be 20, and is in college, my daughter Crysta will soon be 18 and my youngest Felisa will soon be 16 (yes I started young). I have a wonderful boyfriend who is 6 yrs younger than me and keeps me on my toes but makes me feel like I'm 6 yrs younger than him. I love being a mother and hope to become a wife soon. I have a wonderful career at a University in which I absolutely love running an online program for secondary teaching certifications. I have a few animals. A horse Mia, 4 dogs, Deke, black lab, Tabby, black lab, Franklin, yellow lab and a little bitty black fuzzy dog we call Foxy, not really sure what she is.lol Horse back riding is my favorite past time and is like the highest level of meditation for me. Now that I have lost weight it is 100 times more enjoyable. I also love to cook and create fun stuff with my girls in the kitchen. I love reading and watching movies as a family. I am thankful to be active enough to go do fun stuff with the girls now. Shopping has gotten to be so much fun now. As I really hated it before. I look forward to a long life now instead of just making it day to day. I am grateful for my wonderful life. God bless.
  3. So I haven't updated photos lately .... so here goes.
  4. Congratulations!! Walk walk walk but don't over do it. Take it easy. It may hurt right now but in a week or so you will be telling everyone how easy it was.
  5. I found one called Odwalla I really like. they have them here in the Kroger signature store in the natural foods section. The Chocolate milk flavor has the most protein in it.
  6. Thanks everyone! This has been such a blessing.
  7. Today I'm 5 months out and I feel wonderful about my weight loss this far. I'm not too far from goal and I feel like i will be there in less than two months with the work outs I have planned. The work outs are on the back burner right now because I have a pulled muscle in my hip-upper leg area from playing laser tag with my teenagers.lol I guess if you gonna get a pulled butt muscle, get it having fun. I have an upper respiratory infection right now so it's kinda hard to talk about all the wonderful thing's I have accomplished since being sleeved but I'm going to try. I have the energy to keep up with my wonderful daughters. We can go shopping at the same stores now and they don't have to wait on me while I shop at Lane Bryant for something I could both afford and that looks good. I can actually fit in some of my oldest daughters really cute jeans (she's 17). I have met the most awesome man in the world. He is truly a blessing to me. Never once has he made me feel less than perfect and I hope that feeling never ends. He is wonderful to my kids and has stepped up as a wonderful father figure they have never had. So, some of the things I miss since I had surgery...... ....... ........ Well, this is harder than I thought..... Really the only thing is... to be perfectly honest.... I really would love to sit down and eat a whole steak or go to a nice restaurant and have a whole meal. I eat pretty much what I want but sometimes it just tastes soooo good I'd like to finish it while it's hot and not left over. But then, I say to myself....that's what got you a fat ass in the first place and that feeling disappears.LOL! Some of the things I don't miss since I had surgery..... Sore knees Sore feet Sore back Snoring Not being able to breath High BP Migraines from the High BP Shopping at LB Walking from our parking garage to my office and breaking into a gushing sweat. Heck... I barely sweat at all now. The feeling that everyone is talking about how attractive I "use" to be. Having the biggest jeans in the laundry. Not being able to wear the stylish boots that come above my calves. I could go on and on but really I just feel so much better. If I someone has any doubts about this surgery, I can honestly say I would do it again in a second. Thank you everyone on this site for being here though my journey. I have no intention of leaving because you guys are the greatest! I'm sure this last 20 something pounds are going to be the hardest yet so I will need all the support I can get. Thanks Julie
  8. At a week out I was still swollen a bit. That may have something to do with it????
  9. I love this subject. All I can really say is you gotta love yourself first. All of us has taking a long journey to get to where we are today. My boobs are not the same and my tummy is ugly as all get out...oh oh and not to mention I have no backside what-so-ever now....but, I know I did the right thing for my health and my children and that is what matters to me. My bf is 5'6" and weighs about 135.... Little bitty guy, who is rock solid from years of gymnastics..... and sees me naked everyday.... Not once has he said anything bad about my boobs, tummy or backside. He loves the person I am and how I treat him. Good luck sleeve sisters. You are all beautiful women!! BTW...... I WONDER WHAT THE GUYS WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS TOPIC.......ANY OUT THERE?
  10. I bought a new belt yesterday.lol It's is helping with my jeans so I will have to go get some new dress slacks for work. Goodwill here I come.
  11. You will do great! Calm down.....breath......LOL! Best advice I can give you is not to expect to wake up and be at your goal weight. This was something I did unknowingly so when I wasn't loosing as fast as everyone else I was really discouraged. Take your time to heal. I over did it the first week out. Pulled internal stitches hurt like H E double L and I have nerve damage now that may or may not heal over time so DO NOT OVER DO IT! I'm so very excited for you!
  12. You are doing awesome! Great pics! I wish I had your confidence. I have had three kids and look like a road map. You look so great!
  13. LOL! I know exactly what you mean. My boyfriend looked at me this morning and shook his head and said we gotta go shopping. You know if a man said that I should really go shopping.lol
  14. I live in a college town so all the thrift stores around here think there stuff is new.lol I tell you what though...I think I'm scared of trying things on. I was always so disappointed before when things didn't fit. I just don't want to go through that anymore.
  15. BTW... A really sweet friend of mine gave me a whole bag of beautiful blouses. Thank the lord for the nicest friends a girl could have.
  16. All of my pants are falling off and I refuse to buy any until after Christmas. All of my size 10's are too big. This is great but now I look all frumpy like I did before when I was trying to hide the fat rolls.LOL! Humor is the best medicine right? Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!
  17. Living life! I have the confidence to get rid of the people in my life that were holding me back. Quit a second job that I really didn't need so I can spend more time with my beautiful daughters. Life is good now. I really enjoy waking up everyday to see what the world is going to throw at me.
  18. Hey Sherry. Do you have your date yet? I will be 4 months out on the 4th of next month. I'm telling you this was the best decision I have ever made!
  19. So wonderful!!! You are doing amazing! food kinda still controls me though...just in a different kind of way.. I have to eat healthy ... but to me it seems like such a hassle to eat at all. You see, because I'm never hungry (not even cravings) I tend to forget to eat. I have a friend that has the same problem so we are working together to make ourselves eat now.lol Sounds kind of strange after eating away 10 yrs of my life .... but I will take this over that any day.
  20. I can't wait for that to happen for me! I'm sure you are on top of the world!
  21. Irene. You are the entire reason I went through with my surgery. You being so positive and honest about the entire process was what got me through the days after. You have helped me in some many ways you have no idea. I hope you know that there are some that may never comment on things being posted and are just kinda hanging in the shadows but they are soaking up everything. Thank you for being the person you are. You have made this world a better place. God bless you.
  22. Here in Texas (I'm sure other states do too) we wear big blingy, shiny stuff. Well... I was always able to wear the rings and necklaces and stuff like that but was always too self-conscious to wear the belts. Well... my cloths are all falling off and I needed a belt.... I don't and haven't owned a belt in years.... like since the silver laced belt was in style (hope everyone knows what that is). So.... I'm in my room and I have a pair of pants on and every time I bend over or walk or do anything my pants were falling down around my hips and I was complaining about wishing Christmas would hurry up and get over so I could spend some money on some new cloths. Having two teenage daughters my money goes on them and not on me. Anyway,.... My 17 yr old daughter, who is a size 4, walks in and says "Here... Where my belt." I told her as I was putting it through the belt loops that there was no way in the world that her belt would ever fit me. Then it happen.... I buckled it on the second hole. The SECOND hole! I almost cried again. Now I'm going to go buy me a very pretty belt to wear. May even save me some money on jeans.
