da1stladie reacted to SerendipityHappens in How's your weight loss going, slow, steady, stalled or goal?
I'm losing at an average of a pound to a pound and a half a week. Not exactly a breakneck pace for someone of my weight but I'm OK with it. I'm eating 1240 calories a day.

Progress is progress.....no matter how much or how little. I have to keep reminding myself of that. Now that I don't spend so much time focusing on the weight loss I am really enjoying this journey! I know I will NEVER go back and that is the most important part to me!

da1stladie reacted to Lisa's Hope in Maybe Thyroid Level is why I CAN'T get to goal! Progression Pics.
Back in 2008 I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. I had to have my thyroid ablated (RAI) radiation and had it killed off. So now I have a dead gland in my neck. I was 245 pounds then. After the radiation, I gained another 50 pounds which put me at my higest weight of 295 -299. I started on meds and my weight gain leveled off but I couldn't lose. So that is when I decided to have surgery. Anyway, my meds have been adjusted down 3 times since being sleeved and as I've lost weight. Just got my labs back and I'm hypothyroid again so I need to go back up on my meds a bit. I haven't lost any weight in 6 months really.Nothing has worked. My hair is still falling out and I've been an emotional wreck! I sure hope this helps me. I'm praying this adjustment on my medication will get my weight loss started again! Very hopeful! I want to be at 150! I decided to take some pics yesterday just to remind myself of where I've come from. At least, I haven't been gaining to much. Well, I did gain 7 pounds and lose two. I really think this is the reason. I pray that it is! Starting on new meds tomorrow.

da1stladie reacted to BigHappy in Anyone starting to get a slowdown in their losses?
I lost that much in about 5 months, and the last 2 weeks I was stuck. Figures as soon as I post this I start losing a lot again, so now I'm at 299. Nice to be back in the 200's, so I guess it was just a plateau, but down 130 lbs so far.

da1stladie reacted to Lorie269 in How's your weight loss going, slow, steady, stalled or goal?
I've lost 45lbs since my surgery on July 26th. I feel like I am losing at a steady pace and haven't had what I would consider a true stall yet. Some weeks I lose 2-4lbs and others I may not lose anything. But the scale has not shown any gain so far so I will take it. I know I will get to goal and I am trying my best not to obsess about how fast I will get there.

da1stladie reacted to CowgirlJane in How's your weight loss going, slow, steady, stalled or goal?
I have been at goal more or less since Feb 2013.
In hindsight, the speed at which it happened matters less and less... it is the getting and staying there that count.

da1stladie got a reaction from Jenni77 in I have already fallen off the wagon.
Remember the sleeve is a tool for us to use on this weight loss journey. We may fall off the wagon but get up dust yourself off and chance the wagon and get back on it. Remember life is a journey not a sprint, you can do this, get your head in the game. I have lost 90+ lbs since surgery 4/30/13 & 120+ since September-Oct 2012. So if I can anyone can, from a former true food addict. :-)

I had a 2 week stall once around 3 months. But now about 1-3 pounds a week which is fine for me. I met my personal goal, not sure how much further the sleeve will take me. But you're right it was worth it all. Happy happy happy

da1stladie reacted to Arts137 in What are some symptoms/signs of you not taking your vitamins?
Vitamins might be a distraction (though you need these suppliments for the rest of your life. It's part of the sleeve "deal").
What maybe, just maybe needs to be your first concern is getting back on the program. Please get your head back in the game and get control. I do not want you to regain all your losses, and that does happen. Consider talking to a therapist - nothing wrong with that!!!

da1stladie got a reaction from ldoyle in How's your weight loss going, slow, steady, stalled or goal?
Idoyle as long as we are all losing that's what counts. I had a hard getting my protien and Water in as well. It takes time and the new tummy has to heal. We will all get to our goals! In the beginning remembering to eat and drink, take Vitamins, minerals and so on becomes a part time job until it becomes second nature. Take care of yourself :-):-)
