  1. Thank You Tiffykins. You are always so helpful.
  2. I like you can drink alot in a short amount of time, especially if it is warm. However when I got to mushy food 3-5 small bites.Max. I think you are doing just fine. Keep up the good work.
  3. My doc said after a month I was good to go for real food. I have heard salad is really hard to digest and nuts are no good till 3 months out. Please share your thoughts.
  4. You look awesome. Great job and congratulations.
  5. When could you start eating green salads or nuts???
  6. It will get better. Congratulations! Just think in no time at all you will be posting about your weight loss and not the pain. Just try and get your fluids in a rest.
  7. Surgery weight - 205 Current weight - 182.2 Slow and steady! I can do this.
  8. Sarah first off props to you for asking for help and admitting your problem. I was thinking maybe you could send here a email. Kinda impersonal but that might make it easier to share everything. Then when you go to your next appt. She knows all and you guys go from there. Good luck to you. Keep us posted. I really hope you make it through this ok.
  9. Surgery weight - 205 Current weight - 185 My highest weight was my surgery weight. Had surgery 11/25/10
  10. Congratulations you will do great.
  11. When I was on the liquid only stage I was soooo tired. Now that I can have soups and mushy food the higher calories seem to help alot. I get about 600-900 calories a day.
  12. Congratulations! You are going to love your new tool. Remember sip, sip, sip and walk. The walking really helped with my gas. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
  13. I was off work 5 days. I am sitting most of the day so it wasn't hard at all. My biggest problem was being so tired and I think alot of that was from the liquid diet my first 10 days. I am 2 weeks out and still a little sore when I bend over (tie my shoes, ext.) Good luck.
  14. So now that I am sleeved I am telling. Still not saying anything at work but have or will tell all my friends and family. Now that surgery is done I really don't care who knows. Kinda crazy how that all works. Surgery went great and I am already down 17 lbs. In just 10 days. So I say judge that suckers:)
  15. I like stacy160 had a hiatal hernia found during surgery. I am just over a week out and have had zero heartburn. I use to take extra strength zantac up to 5-7 times a week. Depending on how bad I eat/drink. Good luck to you.
  16. I would call your doctor. It doesn't sound normal. A month out you should be doing pretty good. So sorry you are going through this. Just remember we are always here for you.
  17. I had the drain for the 3 days in the hospital as a precautionary measure. My doctor does it with everyone. It got drained twice a day. I didn't like it at all. It made it hard to breath. Like a really bad side ach. It never really hurt (sharp pain) hurt. Just a pain in the butt.
  18. I was sleeved on the 25th so this is day 6 for me. I am still on my clear liquids and very dizzy and light headed. With no calorie intake I am not really surprised. Working on the protein got 30 grams yesterday. Going to get 60 today. I also woke up with a sharp pain in my belly button only when I move. So I guess I was wondering how you got 600-800 calories in on clear liquids that are suppose to be SF for the most part? I am also down 10 lbs CRAZY!
  19. Best wishes to you. I was sleeved 5 days ago and am doing great. Just remember to walk ALOT and sip sip sip. You will be better in no time. I am praying for you.
  20. I got my sleeve. Now if only I could sleep. I am in some painand the only thing that relives it is standing or wilking. Well a girl can only stand so long. I am hoping the gas lets up gust a little bit. Julienick77 how did your surgery go. Thinking of you.
  21. (2boys & a girl) so sorry the hear. About the women at church. I swear no one wants to see us succed. I think we got all the support right here. So when they tell you to get up and walk after surgery. DO IT. I feel sooo much better standing and walking. Makes the gas pass easier. The breathing exercise helps alot too. Don't forget SF cough drops. I can't have anything for the first 24 hrs but after that I am sucking them down. Throat is a little sore. I am a little hungry but not bad at all considering I haven't eaten in over a day. Going to try and sleep I will check in the morning.
  22. I am 5 hours post open. Dr. ACEVES DID MY SURGERY. I am very happy with the care so far. I would do it again in a second. I plan on telling my PCF about the surgery when I get back. Give her all the xrays blood work exc. This is my support group however I know of a local one as well I will be going to. Cost was $9500. Well worth it.
  23. I did it!!! I'm officially on the loser's bench. I've had my sleeve for 5 hours now. There was a small hacial(sp) hyrnea(sp) that he had to repair. The pain on a scale of one to ten being the worst is 6/7, but more drugs were just administered to help. Have been taking short walks, and sitting up is much better than laying down. The worst thing overall is not being able to drink anything, I am soooo thirsty. So now that the surgery is over, I think I'm going to tell people about the surgery. If they ask, I feel it's only fair to tell them in case they have the same underlying weight loss issues. I was more worried about telling people prior to the surgery because I didn't want to deal with the negativity and the people who would try to change my mind, but now that I've had the surgery I really don't care what they think. It's a personal choice right .
  24. At the hospital. Will have my surgery in about 2 hours. Did all the blood work, ekg, and xray yesterday. Very easy and painless. The staff here are wonderful. I love Lucy. Everything is clean. Can't say enough good things. I will post form the loosers bench next time.
