I have definatly lost weight in my feet. My favorite Kenneth Coles that I bought even though they were too small for me.. now actually fit... and are really almost too big now.

How Many Incisions and IV's Did You Have?
I had 4 incisions & 1 IV. Three of my scars are so tiny i can barely see them anymore, the largest one is about 1 inch and it's in my belly botton so it's hardly noticable. Good luck with your surgery, I know you've been waiting for this day for a while. Yay

Birth Control after VSG
I stopped my bc pills 1 month prior to surgery and was able to start them 3 weeks after my surgery per my surgeon. I was stupid and waited only 2 weeks after surgery. Well Guess what. I got a blood clot in my mesentaric vein. Dr said it was due to starting the bc pills early, It's horrible. I have to take Coumidn (blood thinner) for at least 6 months! and also get blood tests every week to check my levels. And, periodic CT scans to see if it has moved or dissolved. I've never had any history of clots, noone in my family has had clots, I don't smoke. Just the combination of major surgery and starting my bc pills early caused it. And now I cannot have any type of hormonal birth control. EVER again. Please listen to what ever your DR says, and follow his orders. I wish I would have.

Longest Stall Contest
I'm about 9 weeks out and I've had a 22-24 day stall. During that time I bounced between 218-220. Yesterday i was so happy because I finnaly broke my stall and weighed in at 216... Well today, guess what, back to 118. Needless to say I'm not a happy camper about that. But, I know it's ok, I just need to relax because it'll happen. It's true, my clothes feel bigger. People at work keep complementing me and guys are starting to check me out, lol. I just want to get to Onederland SOOO bad. The other stall I had was about 3 weeks out and that lasted for 10 days, but then I dropped 6 lbs overnight. Yes. They suck!!! But, you will lose the weight. Keep us updated on your progress!

Do you sleep hunger free?
I haven't been hungry since my surgery. I have had a couple dreams of eating pizza, lol. Before you have the surgery it's hard to imagine not being hungry. I thought there is no way I'd not be hungry... BUT it worked. Sometimes when I see others eating something that I used to love I wish that I would be able to stuff my face then I have a couple bites and I'm good. The craving is gone and I feel full. I'm happy with my sleeve and it feels SO good to be losing weight and it feels even better knowing that it's gone forever! ~Kelli

Parmesan Cheese Chips
I just remembered this super good snack that I used to eat when I was doing the low carb diet So I made it today!!! Parmesan cheese chips they are SO good. In 1/4 cup of the cheese there is 110 cal, 1 carb & 9 Proteins. I use the Kraft shredded parmesan cheese, measure 1/4 cup then seperate it into 5-6 piles and pat down on a cookie sheet with parchement paper. (if you don't use parchement, you'll need to spray some nonstick cooking spray on a cookie sheet) Personally I like it better without the spray. Then bake on 350 for about 5 minutes or until the edges are a light brown. let them cool and the should be nice and crispy and FULL of yummy flavor.

6 weeks I need more protein
I'm having a hard time getting mine in too. I'm only getting about 20g but today I had the Carbmaster yogurt (Kroger brand) that has 12g of Protein and 4 carbs in 6oz. I'm going to start eating at least 2 of those per day. I also just remembered this super good snack that I used to eat when I was doing the low carb diet. I made Parmesan cheese chips they are SO good. In 1/4 cup of the cheese there is 110 cal, 1 carb & 9 Proteins. Surgery Scheduled Jan. 20th (Next Week) No Passport Yet
Hi! I work at an airline and you MUST have a passport to travel internationally . Yes a few years ago a valid ID and birth cert would work, but not anymore. Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery! You're going to love your sleeve.

Do you have BCBS Insurance?
BCBS of GA didn't require that. I had to be over 40 bmi or 35 bmi with two morbitities like high bp, cholesterol, sleep apnea, etc. Good luck, I hope you get approved!

Smoking---Yikes!!!
Smoking increases you odds of gettin a blood clot. To me that wasn't worth the risk. I quit a month before surgery which was my DRs orders. I havent cheated once. BUT 20 days after my surery they found a HUGE clot. Every nurse and DR would ask me if i was smoking or on the BC pill. I quit them both preop and haden't started them since the surery. Clots are danerous so maybe if you think of the complecations that may come from smoking before surgery, maybe it'll help you quit. I'm on blood thinners for at least 6 months and possibly the rest of my life. I don't know how long after the surgery it's safe to do it. ~~Kelli

NO SLEEVE FOR ME!!!! : (
I wouldn't have had any other surgery but the sleeve. After researching it so much and reading the stories and actual personal experinces that people post on here. I've heard of people who have GERD get the sleeve done and as long you find a PPI that will work for you. My Suregon said in the seminar that most people will have heartburn for about a year after surgery. I'm 7 weeks out and have only had it once and that was because I forgot to take my PPI. And Ive seen many people regain weight with RNY because they are still hungry, with the sleeve for the most part we are never hungry. I'd check around for another DR who would do it. I know mine in Dayton OH would. So if you don't live that far, msg me and Ill give you his details. Kelli

No appetite for anything...blah
I found some great soup from a Chinese takeout restaurant. I'm a vegetarian so I got the vegetable soup and just ate the broth but if you like any of those like wonton or egg drop that might help with you fluids. The first night I tried the soup I had about 2 1/2-3 cups and it was the most Fluid I had in a while. It was great! Just remember it is packed with sodium so it's probably not a good idea to have that much in one day. When i have some now I limit it to about 2 cups at the most otherwise I just feel even more thirsty. I'm almost 7 weeks out and still struggle EVERY day to get my liquid in, I only get about 20-30oz. I'm thirsty all the time I just can't drink much no matter how much I sip sip sip.

3 week post op and cant keep anything down!
I'm dealing with that problem too. Feeling dehydrated is awful! I have been dying for a pop aka soda recently and I just found some pop flavored freezer pops at WAlmart, it's like dr pepper, 7up, rootbeer and orange.. I've been eating them all day. They're not sugar free but at this point I just needed hydration and this helped a little. Maybe you could try that. The medicine cup sugestion that Oregondaisy said works very well too. Good luck

What PPI are you taking?
I take the RX omeprazole 40 mg, They are too big for me to swallow at this time and make me gag. The are BIG capsuls with beeds in them, So I asked my Pharmacist today and she suggested I open them up and put the little balls in a bite of applesauce to get them down. It worked, thank God. Otherwise I would of had try the OTC Omeprazole 20mg and take 2x/day for pCK OF 42 the Walmart brand was $19.99, My insurance charges $5 for the Omeprazole 40mg which is generic Prilose. Maybe you could tell your pharmasist that you prefer generic.

Surgeon for someone in central Ohio
I had my surgery with DR Donovan Teel at Premier Metabolic Batiatrics in Dayton Ohio at Miami Valley Hospital. He was great and his staff is excellent. They are a Center of Excellence which is one of the reasons I chose him.

One month out, new pain
I ended up having mesenteric venious thrombosis (blood clot) AND pancreatitus! It was absolutly horrible. I spent 9 days in the hospital. Since you are able to get liquids down I'm sure it's not that. I read with the pancreatitus nothing will stay down and it's true! These new sensations without a stomach are crazy.. I don't really know how to explain it but I just feel like everything is not stuck together anymore. I notice it most when I am in bed laying on my side. It kinda grosses me out. My abdomen feels like a bag of marbles. It's not near as bad as it was in the very begining but i stll feel it. Do you have those same feelings?
