  1. I'm so sorry to hear about this. Children in pain or suffering breaks my heart. I pray that your son has a successful surgery, and rapid recovery. God will guide your surgeon's hands. I do hope they can do it rectally, so he can bounce back quickly. BTW: I agree with Paula; Boudreaux's is VERY good stuff, and it's not that expensive. Our tiny local market, and drugstore even carry it because so many people around here use it. Walmart in the next town carries it too.
  2. arans rapw hhhhs!
  3. I thought it was cool, in a salvator dali kind of way
  4. You're right it isn't easy with the band. Because we are a society that celebrates and or commiserates with food, being unable to eat more than a bite or two when restriction is high is disappointing. Restriction is high for me when I'm up too late, up too early, sick, stressed, or excited. Celebration preparation usually increases stress and excitement...go figure. I lost a few pounds over the christmas season last year though, instead of gaining. I go up and down the weight scale with in 3-4 pounds until I'm down another, then up, then down another. I am after a year losing very slowly now, but still slowly losing. I can generally eat most band friendly foods. I just have to take it slow, and have a little at a time so, over time I get enough. I am down from a size 24 to some damned cute size 14's that I can buy anywhere. My underwear are no longer support panties, but low rise bikini's. TMI? I would absolutely do this again. Heaven forbid I should end up with complications down the road, but even with... after healing... I'll do it again. I thank god daily for giving me this chance to live life feeling great again.
  5. I love that, thanks for sharing it.
  6. I dunno what the heck you girls are doing up there... but I'm getting excellent tv reception!
  7. Better do the tootsie roll thing at quitting time... 5 second rule and all that... they also make mouse droplet looking cake sprinkles. Make the sign, then buy an air horn... if she pops open the door with food in hand anyway... well you get the picture. I hope you have a camera, cuz we want the picture too!!

She is an absolutely gorgeous little girl, looks DO run in that family don't they? She looks really happy, and her smile shows a confidence she must've learned from her ultra cool Auntie De! I have an ultra cool Auntie, who lives many many miles away from me too, and ya know, though we mostly communicate via email and pics, when we do talk, it's like no time has passed at all. We're as close as ever despite the distance. She is as lucky to have you, as you feel to have her, that's something that can last forever...despite distance.

I was very sore there, I believe for me it was where they stitched my port to the abdominal wall (on the inside) I had one stitch that hurt sharply and after a couple of weeks, popped itself loose (that hurt) but at the same time, felt immediately better. Is there any redness to the area, warmth/hot to the touch, or swelling? Have you had any fever? Those are all signs of infection and should be called to your doc ASAP. I agree with the others that if nothing else, a call to your doc might give you piece of mind.
  10. I have lots of family in the naples and nokomis areas. My prayers are with you all. Be safe!

  13. If he believes that the excess skin overlap (the sag) puts you at significant health risk related to potential for/or history of infection related to yeast growth etc, you could possibly get some coverage for the lift part. I can't imagine the "prosthesis" getting paid for, but stranger things have happened! I used to work for a major national health insurance company as a claims examiner. I used to be so dumbfounded by the much needed things we didn't pay, yet the odd ball things we did cover... it's all in the wording that's for sure!

LMAO! I can SOOO see that happening here!
  15. WOW! You two look drop dead gorgeous! Isn't it great to be a woman, and finally feel like it again?
  16. Delarla:"The truth is I woke up with scars. I have no memory. One day it was May, then I woke up in October with tube sticking out of my belly." When that happened to my friend Cartman, an antenna came out his a$$! <sniff...SNIFFFFF> does anyone else smell smoke? Moon? Are you still wearing the colander on your head? Just thought I should warn you... There's an ORANGE price sticker on the bottom!
  17. open some nasty cheap catfood, cook it in the microwave, then scrape it on top of the trash closest to her... tell her chris cooked and you had to bring it to work, but it's so bad you just can't eat it... shhhh don't tell him 'k?
  18. hey moon... getting anything? (handing up the metal colander...) Try this!
  19. I read Dr Phils weight loss books and one of the rules for creating a "fail safe environment" was to get rid of all food scented candles, room sprays, potpourri's etc... I buy the rain scents or fresh linen scents and love those, but still ate half a pan of brownies monday when struck by pms... go figure.
  20. From what I read I see that there are some suggestions that banding MAY not be as good as bypass, and MAY have more complications, and MAY not have as much weight loss.... but they need to do studies to prove that theory. THAT means, it's NOT a proven fact, it's just opinions. If you read this carefully, you'll find it contradicts itself somewhat. It theorizes that there MAY be less weight loss, and there MAY be more side effects. But over a period of years, the amount of overall weight loss is closer to bypass. Look at the news today... 1 in 29 chance of bypass death? I'll take 2 in 100 chance of reflux over 1 in 29 of death. These quotes tell me a lot about the whole article. <<"that concluded that LASGB had an identical weight loss curve to the open VBG performed by the same surgeons. Kellum (2003) concluded that “t is obvious that only a prospective, randomized series would definitively establish which operation is best in terms of safety and efficacy.” >> <<"The researchers concluded that more study is required to determine the long-term efficacy of LASGB." >> <<“For laparoscopic gastric banding, the available evidence suggests that weight loss at one year is less than that achieved with gastric bypass. More limited evidence on three-year weight loss suggests that this difference in weight loss may lessen over time.">> <<" Early adverse event rates are low following laparoscopic gastric banding, and are probably lower than gastric bypass.">>
  21. Duh... that means let the dog eat the cereal, we're too important to for such menial clean up, or maybe it's get the sink sprayer the vaccuum's broke... or holy sh!T I just pee'd myself at you idiots.... (flipping through my cheat sheets)

Decent amounts of Calcium vit A, vit C and Iron, but the sodium 1440 mgs!! That's 60% of the rda! I don't dare look up anything else... I'll surely perish without my weekly TB
  23. See? It's the illuminate at work... I went recently to get my teeth cleaned, when they realized I had dual dental coverage from my husband's employer and mine, they quickly found a few thousand dollars worth of work they could do for me to suck up that money..."it's there might as well use it, right?" translate, it's there WE might as well get our hands on it... they sent me home withOUT cleaning my teeth, but with appointment cards for several upcoming appt's to use up those benefits. I got a new dentist, and had my teeth cleaned nicely the first appointment. I'm to call them if I want or need anything else... It's all a scam anymore. The more visits you make the more money they make. I hate it... you have to go to the doc to make an appointment to see the doc for services... WTF??
