Congratulations!!! I use to have Aetna and had tried to go through them for the lap band and it has several hurdles you had to jump to get approved. Can't wait to hear your results....I am currently waiting on my insurance United Health to make a decision. I was told "no problem" just have the doc send us a predetermination, but I will get excited when i get the go ahead from them.

I work in advertising and have a lot of clients, and I know that they will be wanting to know where my weight is going when it really starts to show. It's natural to question a considerable amount of weight loss. I would do the surgery and after a month or so, you should see how it's going and do a blog about it somewhere and keep records of your weight loss, then when you're ready, tell people. You may encourage thousands of people to get off their butts and do it too. Plus you don't want the rumors to fly about what's going on, you know "did you hear so and so is dying from some rare disease, or hey did you hear so and so went to Europe and had some experimental surgery that they've only performed on monkeys?" You know how rumors fly when your in the eyes of the media....you need to be sure you have control over those rumors for the well being of you and your family. Keep us posted on your decision.

Wow, awesome job... I cant' wait to post those same things. I'm currently waiting on my insurance to approve my sleeve, but they had told me there would be no problem. I am loving this site and loving all the positive stuff people are filling it with. Keep up the good work!

I am at my largest weight ever and my lungs are slowly giving out on me. I can do a low carb diet and lose 50 to 60 lbs, but then I put it right back on and add more on top of that. So, I decided to go to a seminar and I have chosen the sleeve. My insurance told me the only requirements I had to meet for obesity surgery was to be over 21 and have a bmi over 40 and I wouldn't have to have any other symptoms to have surgery. Now, I'm waiting on them, the doctor has sent a predetermination. Can you guys give me a little feed back on ur results and would you do it again? Any side effects? Any helpful links you might know? I am so glad I found this site, I think it will be lots of help!

What is a good link for the surgery in Mexico. I am currently waiting on my insurance to make the decision on having my surgery. They told me that if my BMI was over 40 - no questions asked, they would cover it 90%, but, you all know when it comes down to it, they can all back out. How much does it cost to have it done in Mexico verses the U.S.
