  1. Today, I tried something different, I cut the shake out 220 Cal/36 Protein, cause i was eating enough protein and I wanted to save the calories for pizza tonite. I don't know if I'll be able to eat pizza after fills, so I treated myself, but want to keep those cals to 1000, especially since the scale isn't moving much. I also bought suger free cookies and Hersey chocolate. 1 or 2 of each fixes that sugar jones. And (I can't believe I'm going to say this, compared to my take on food 2 months ago):clap2: a peeled apple at night has also helped the sugar jones. I'll try fitday.com-thanx for the tip.
  2. I bought the Isopure bottled drink and wasn't too crazy about it either, but for the 1st week of clear liquids, I hung in there. Then, I got the Isopure Dutch Chocolate at GNC and mixed it with Skim Plus Milk--Gave me 61 protein and 330 Cals. Good for Liquid /Soup Stage. When I went to Mushies I reduced the scoops to 1 = 220 cal. 36 Protein. Just went off the shake today, since I'm eating so much protein. Another tip I learned was to Take a mouthful every couple of hours to space out your protein intake and/or take the edge off hunger. GNC also had a CLUB to join $ for discounts.
  3. Hi All, Banded 3/14/7 and my goal is 160. When I get to that I plan on working more with wgts. to tone things. I worked for a Big Name gym when i was in college and worked out about 8 hrs a day. I weighed about 145, And looked real good, but never a skinny Minnie. Muscle weighs MORE THAT FAT. Even right now the scale hasn't moved for 2 wks and I do 35 min Cardio each day. The inches seem to be coming off more than the LBS>
  4. Yes, we are. Hello. As of this date, I can't say that the band has yet to KICK in. I think we are at the "on your own" stage right now. But I'm trying to stay good. I look forward to the first fill cause I'm hungry. I try to eat 6 small meals a day to keep the edge off, :hungry: (cheese stick, yogurt, apple, low cal dinner) but when the evening comings my old habits have resurfaced--SWEETS CRAVINGS. I got some Healthy choice fudge bars, 90 cals. ea They are really good. But this weeks i started eating 2 or 3 in a row. :omg: These have put my Calorie Count past 1200. Bad girl! Seem to be losing more inches than LBS. Hubby notices. Old cloths(size 22) are resurfacing too! How about U?
  5. I too was banded 3/14/7 and started exercising 2 wks prior (was up to 30 min). I resumed 10 days post Op 15/18/22 min. now am up to 35 min. (walk, bike, eliptical). Even though I have pangs of pain in the port constantly, exercising didn't seem to aggravate it. Bending down from a sitting position, the other night REALLY did. GOT SCARED. So the following day I only did 10 min on the bike. What really hurts has been my BACK since the day after OP. 5 WKS--When will it go away!?!?!?!?!?! Heating pad, Motrin 600 and stretching doesn't help. ANY SUGGESTIONS???
  6. The gum idea is great. T U. I did swallow a piece the other day (accidently) and waited for a reaction, NONE. I was scared though. I'll be extra careful after the first fill. The info about the stretching is good. Doesn't matter if I paid $$ or not, it's a body invasive procedure and I'd rather protect myself from physical harm than financial.
  7. t u. I had read here that the pains were from the anesthia (? SP), Motrin 600, heating pad, and working out doesn't help much. I wonder if some of my inners got pushed around a bit to cause the almost constant pain.
  8. I started this whole process in Jan 06 and finally got banded 3/14/07. I was so psyched when approval came thru I started working out in Feb and lost 6 big ones. It only took 2 wks post Op to get back to my 30 min workout. Didn't find this website till April, though. Too bad for me. Awaiting first fill 5/3 and working out 35 min/daily. Loses more inches than Lbs. About 16 Post Op. So glad I did it. Just wish this dar garn back pains would leave.
  9. Banded 3/14 and food goes down well, first fill in May, I was told to wait 30 min., before and after eating, to drink anything. does that apply to this awkward stage? I don't think liquids would push anything thru the band since I'M WIDE OPEN ??? And when do these shoulder & back pains go away (lots o exercise). Please advise.
  10. Hi, stumbled upon this web site the day before my first post op support group and got most of my numerous questions answered. This is a wonderful site. Lost 16 post and 6 pre op. 30 min cardio each day and sticking to the diet pretty well. I read here that this is the time when i am "ON MY OWN"--first fill 5/3/07. I guess I am testing the waters now since I've been on solids for 1 wk. My caloric intake had increased from about 800 to 1200 in the past three days, IS THIS THE TIME I NEED TO BE MORE VIGILANT??? also read here that these back and shoulder pains are from the anestesia (sp). 4 1/2 wks later, when will they go away?
