Down 45 lbs, check up and everything A-Ok!
Wooohooo! Great job! I've seen that a lot of people end up going back to Dr. A for their check up, but no one ever describes their expierence with this like they do with surgery. Did you make all of your own plans while down there and then just show up at the hospital for a schedualed appt. Or do they help in planning your trip/accomidations like they do when you head down the first time? Could you talk a little about your expierence with this situation? Just curious. :-) I'm hoping to schedual surgery with Dr. A some time in September so I'm just gathering all the info I can now. Thanks in advance!

LOL Thank you Big! You beat me to that explanation for LAN. I knew right from the beginning what TB was talking about and was hoping some one else would clear it up for her before I did in just about the same terminology that you used! @ TB- I cant tell you when it will get better post-op cus I'm not there yet but what I can say is Good Luck with that! Get some strong candles and even stronger air freshener and put both in arms reach for time being! :wink0:

Hello bones, nice to see you again!
Congrats! So happy that you've found motivation and happiness in something that so many "regular sized" people take for granted. hehe I cant wait to be right there with you. I'm hoping that non-scale victories such as discovering new bones will keep me on the right path! This just makes me want my Surgery date to get here even faster now so I can join the club. :-)

Hi all! Just thought I would introduce myself!
Thank you all for the support!

Hi all! Just thought I would introduce myself!
Thanks Mary for the reassurance about Dr. A! I haven't set a date yet because I want to make 100% sure that we have all of the money together before I put the deposit down and schedule a date. That way, I will know for sure that I can have surgery on my scheduled day and not have to worry about if we are going to be able to come up with the money in time. It is a large chunk and we dont wanna be broke afterward...So in my mind it's best to get it all together first and then set a date. Did any one else deal with these $$$ thoughts/ issues?

Hi all! Just thought I would introduce myself!
Hey there everyone! I have been "lurking" (as many of you call it) here for a few weeks now and I can't even begin to express how much all of your posts have helped make this decision so much easier for me. Let me tell you a little about myself: My name is Bonnie, 21 from Orange County, CA and I am planning on having VSG with Dr. Aceves sometime in September or early October. I have already been approved by him to come down for surgery now but I am not going to be able to do it financially until then. I'm so excited and although that seems so far away right now, I know it will be will worth the wait! I recently got engaged and have started planning a wedding for November of 2011 with my AMAZING Fianc?' Kevin. Surgery was something I was thinking about long before he asked me to marry him but now everything seems to be falling in to place in order to make my dreams a reality. Kevin has been so supportive in me wanting to make this change and is willing to fund things as well. He was only slightly hesitant when I told him I wanted to go to Mexico and then I had him read all of Dr Aceves' reviews and now he is fine with it. (hehe Thanks guys!) He just jokes now and says "You can do side bend or sit-ups, or have gastric surgery...But please don?t lose that butt." haha  As for telling family and friends, that is a bit more difficult for me. I have told a few of my close friends that I want to have this procedure done and they have been supportive but I'm just not ready to tell my family. In time I most likely will but probably after I have the surgery so they don't try to talk me out of it. Haha Not that they could.. I just don?t want them to worry and every more so I just don?t wanna hear it. :001_rolleyes:There are a lot of other factors in me making that decision but those can all be discussed with them at a late time. Anyways...That's just a little about me and I hope that I will get to know all of you a lot better in the coming months. Your stories have all been so inspirational and I can?t wait to get on that losers bench with all of you! Feel free to add me as a friend if you would like to talk more. ~Bonnie
