Its Winter Time!
Paula they are saying it is going to get to 19 here! It is cold already! I guess I will just have to haul out my big heavy comforter, grab a nice hot cup of tea, sit in my recliner and don't go outside! It is raining here now, then we are supposed to get freezing rain, sleet, and 1-3 inches of snow!

What was the greatest gift you ever gave ?
I have two, and decided they both were worth telling. When my Mom was confined to bed before she passed away, DH and I decided to do a bunch of decorating for Christmas. My Mom always loved Christmas, it was our favorite holiday. Well, we went over to my parents house and decorated all the trees in the yard, she could see a lot of them from her bed. I also decorated the room she was in and I hung a big wreath with bright white lights on the wall. We decorated a small tree for her in the room. Everything was beautiful, and the look in her eyes was worth every minute of it. For weeks, she talked about watching the pretty lights at night when she couldn't sleep. The night she passed away, (Christmas Eve) I was holding her hand, and she passed away looking at the wreath with the bright white lights on the wall, she wouldn't take her eyes off it. Today, I have that wreath hanging in my house every year. The other story is about DH Dad. A few years ago, we decided to rent a big houseboat in Vegas. We ended up right outside Vegas in Henderson. We rented a 56 foot houseboat, and then we flew his Dad to Vegas to meet us. His father is really into nature, so it was the perfect gift to surprise him with. We couldn't have asked for a better trip. We pulled in to dock for the night, and we had a herd of longhorned sheep come down right by the boat. His dad was in heaven. We took movies of it and he talked about it for years. My DH had to go potty, and he ask his Dad to drive the boat while he did. He also told him to be careful because you can't turn the wheel much at all or he'd be in trouble. Well, this other houseboat was heading our way, (way out of bothering us) and he though he should move over. Overcorrected it bad! Well the next thing he was going both ways and we were putting a big "S" pattern behind us. My DH came up on top of the boat saying " What is going on?" You threw me right off the toilet! (He was also taking movies) My FIL tried to get me to take over driving the boat, but all I could do was sit there laughing. We had a great time, my FIL talked about that trip to everyone who would listen. He took his tapes in for his friends to take home and watch. This was the best gift we could have ever given him, and he passed away a few years later, so it was also a great gift for my DH to be able to spend that kind of quality time with his Dad.

December's Chat
Good Morning Y'all! I love all the good news on here! I got up bright and early this morning, headed to the office to get billing done so I could get back home. The are saying freezing rain this morning, it was raining when I left already, but not freezing. I got the billing all done and now I am safely tucked back home and my butt is staying right here the rest of the day! Dang, it is cold out there! Cindy - Your CHRISTMAS party with the kids sounds super. I agree, so many of them don't have anything at all at home. I will not stop using Christmas. I was happy to hear that Bush went back to saying Christmas tree instead of holiday tree. Sorry if I offended anyone, but Christmas has been here longer than me and I love it. I don't say anything about any one's holiday they Celebrate and never would. Hope you start feeling better too! I feel lots better today! Pat - New car! OK, we need all the juicy details. What color, kind, pictures..... How was your Mom's appointment yesterday? Beanie - You lucky dog you, getting to go meet everyone! Have a great time! I'm so jelous! :eek You better take a camera and get tons of pictures! Lisa - You will be fine way before Christmas! Congrats again! I know how excited you must be! Will Beanie fit into your suitcase? Maybe you could get two for the price of one! Zan - Good luck with your fill, sounds like you got a good one! Eileen - Don't work too hard! They are saying 1-3 inches of snow tonight and really cold!

Well, I don't blame you for not wanting to drive in Dallas when it rains. I don't either! They have a ton of accidents when it rains. Actually they said we are getting sleet/snow tomorrow, I don't know what Thrusday will bring though. We can plan on meeting when you come back again, just let me know when.

I wouldn't do it, why put the weight back on that you just lost? Just eat smaller amounts of what they fix.

Liquids for one week after a fill??
Every doctor is different, and by all means you should follow his rules as much as you can. My doctor has me do liquids the remainder of the day of the fill, and then he stresses to go back on solids the next day.
-
Self Sabatoge!
Throw out the ice cream for starts. Get yourself some broth, Jello, popcicles etc. and try that for a few days, at least 48 hours to heal up. Then move to mushies, but that doesn't mean ice cream again. Try some refried Beans, cottage cheese, pudding, then move on to solids. If after you have tried this and you still can't eat then by all means call your doctor. Just going on the liquids for 48 hours could solve your problem because you are probably swollen. Make sure to drink your Water too. Good luck, and keep us posted.

December's Chat
Good Morning Y'all! Feeling a bit better today thank goodness. My belly is still sore, but that is about all. Pat - I haven't been in the kitchen at all! But maybe that is a good excuse to stay out of there too! I just loved all your decorations, I wish you hadn't taken them off. I didn't get to look too close at them. Hey, I would welcome the drinks you took anytime over the Cookies :eek Lisa - Your brother is quite the looker! I bet in that uniform he has to fight the girls off! Eileen - Sounds like you had your day full at work. I hate it when you go on vacation and come back to a desk full. Hopefully today will be better. What a deal getting all that time off! Beanie - How funny! I bet you wanted to scream when you first opened that drawer! How is Thursday looking for you? Zan - If you ever see Jeff Gordon at any of these things, you can send him my way! He can put his shoes under my bed anytime! OPPS, did I really say that? Cindy - Sorry you are sick! Have you tried that Airborne? I heard it is really good! Last year we couldn't keep it on the shelves here in the Metro-Plex. As fast as they got a shipment in people were standing there waiting for it. I never could get any last year, but I got a bottle in the cabinet now. I also like the Zinc cough drops. They help me a lot. Oh, and stay out of the kitchen! Orders from Pat for sick people! Patty - I am so happy that Lewis's party went well. I guess sometimes it is best just to keep our mouths shut huh? I don't know if I will ever learn how to do that though! Jan - Welcome! Congrats on your banding date, and good luck! Well, going to get off here and get busy. Gosh, I won't know what to do with myself if I have to stay out of the kitchen.
