300PoundsDown got a reaction from CRainwater in Eating Sensation Question
I probably shouldn't answer this b/c I never had the band. But I just wanted to tell you that I have met soooo many people who converted to the sleeve from the band and they have had wild success!! The lady staying across the hall from me did this and we have kept up a bit as we see each other at the doctor's office for follow ups. She has told me every time that her life is like night and day. She said she loves the sleeve and it has made a world of difference. I'm really happy for you! I think you will love it.
As far as the sensation of fullness...I will tell you how I feel. I don't know if I am different from others. Basically I get a feeling in my throat that tells me no more . Initially that is where I first feel it. It is almost like indigestion but not really. I can just feel the food doesn't really want to go down. And soon thereafter I feel full as well. My throat is the one that really keeps me in check. I don't like that feeling!
    Good luck!!

    Hi everyone!
I am so happy to see how many of us started at such high weights and have been successful. This surgery has totally changed my life in so many ways. I started this thread and I remember still writing that first post. I was so hopeless. I felt nothing could help me. I thought the rest of my life would be spent in a constant state of hunger. It took me years to make up my mind to have the surgery but in the end it was the best decision of my life.
I have lost 125 lbs in the past 7 months. I post regularly on my blog about my experiences and I love to hear from others on this journey. It has helped me so much learning from others experiences!

300PoundsDown got a reaction from pussnboots in Sleeve Size After Surgery And 4 Years Later
Wow this is really interesting!! Thank you so much for posting this!! I think this is one of the biggest fears people have about the sleeve. We always hear about this "window" that will close on us at a year or so out. But I think a lot of that is our anxiety. It's true that we can eat more as time goes on than we could in the beginning. But it's also VERY true that the stomach will never grow back and can only stretch but so much. Here we have an example at 4 years out even!! I love it. You have done a great service to everyone by posting this.

Don't stop thinking about it! lol....Enjoy it!! This is going to be possibly one of the most exciting things to happen to you in your life. It was completely life changing for me. I totally agree with the person who said research as much as you can to prepare yourself and if at all possible start an exercise routine. I would highly recommend the Leslie Sansone walking videos. Even if you did 10 minutes a day it would be helpful. Good luck!!

This just proves what a miracle this surgery really can be in someone's life. You know I just had a conversation the other day with someone who insisted that this surgery cannot cure people of diabetes. When I told her that I knew people in real life that had been able to go off their meds she literally didn't believe me. I tried to explain that it happens and within no time at all but she insisted it couldn't be real. Here you are living proof!

I started this post when I was looking into surgery so I thought i'd come back and update. I had the surgery in July and I'm down 95 lbs 5 months later. I wish I was losing a bit faster but I have not been as diligent with my protein/water/calories as others. Basically I have no desire to eat and I am never hungry. I've kind of been relishing in that feeling! I think it's amazing. However, I want to maximize my progress so I'm going to get back to being diligent about getting all Protein in. This has been a true answer from God for me in my life!

300PoundsDown got a reaction from TeamBrickHouse in Got sleeved 6/28!!
I finally got sleeved 6/28 with Dr. Cavazos in San Antonio, TX. I started my pre-op diet at 417. Prior to surgery I had to do a 10 day shake diet. I cheated a couple of days but the doctor said it still managed to do a good job shrinking my liver. 2 days prior to surgery I went on Clear Liquids. I've continued to be on liquids the past 9 days since I got out of surgery. Clear liquids being Water, broth, sf Jello and sf popsicles. I discovered the popsicles have an unfortunate 4 carbs each in them so I have been avoiding them. So in total I've not had any food in about 19 days. SO I'm hungry! I don't know about others but whatever stomach got left behind IS hungry. It's not the insane hunger that it used to be but it's definitely there. I'm going to assume that is normal. Yesterday I broke down and ate some creamed Soup even though I'm supposed to stay on clear liquids one more day but my stomach took it just fine and it was amazing! Tomorrow I go to post op and will be moved to semi solid foods. Wow I can't wait! I have so far lost 21 lbs total and I am under 400! So things are looking up:)
