  1. I posted a thread just for you yesterday. You had been on my mind. Glad to hear all went well.
  2. Well you already know we share that date!
  3. with the liquid diet, I thought I would lose my mind the first couple of days. However, day 6 is almost over and I'm definitely finding it easier. Just keep items that you CAN have on hand keep your mind busy. I've been busy all day and today has been really good. Just thought I would help give someone hope out there because I swore that I wouldn't be able to do this and I'm doing it!:thumbup1:
  4. Her surgery was yesterday and she's been on my mind. I hope all went well with her!
  5. I went to preop this morning and had nutrition class. My nutritionist advised me to do a chewable Multivitamin like Centrum, complex B and Vitamin D as well as a Citrical. Good luck to all of you. The 25th needs to hurry up and get here. I'm ready to get this show on the road!
  6. I'm finished with preop and my preop class. I've done everything and I'm ready to go. I even had the nutritionist check my journal to make sure I'm on target and she says I'm doing great. In 4 days, I've lost 9.5 lbs! Now it's just for the 25th to hurry up and get here......LOL
  7. Goodlife, I was told by my surgeon that he wanted to check to see if I had acid reflux, make sure there were not any ulcers in my stomach and make sure that I didn't have an poylops (sp) Thankfully everything checked out great and I'm so thankful!
  8. Thank you ladies! Good luck to you as well Kylie!
  9. I would be furious if the insurance coordinator would do that to me. I am a self pay but if in any way shape or form your ins will pay after talking to your surgeon, I would go up there and wait to see him even if you have to make an appointment! Good luck:)
  10. I can totally relate to the headaches as well. I'm on day 4 of this preop diet. I want to chew as well. It feels totally weird not to have a fork in my hand @ all. This isn't easy but when I get weak or start having a hard time, I journal my feelings to God. Friday night I got so depressed that when my husband and kids came back home from picking up dinner for themselves, I went upstairs and cried. Then I realized how much food is such a big part of our lives and it shouldn't dictate everything we do. However, that still doesn't make this easy.
  11. I haven't been told that yet but I read it in my "Bari-Bible" that I will
  12. Mini I did speak w/his nurse this am and she said he has never had a case where he ended up having to open a person up but that there is always a slight risk. I was just worried it would be more $$$ as I'm paying him up front on Monday. His nurse told me no that there would be no extra expense for that if it did happen.
  13. Wow I notice alot of people are seeing this particular dr in Mexico! May I ask how much he charges if people don't have insurance coverage for this procedure? I can't wait to get my sleeve but I'm doing mine in Lafayette, LA. Cajun what part of LA are you from?
  14. I had the scope done this morning. Thankfully that all came back well. When I left the hospital, my mom took me to Planet Nutrition and I got a Cookies and cream Protein Shake. I just looked it up online and it was 30 grams of protien. I'm nervous about this preop diet. Then my mom and I were just talking and she's like, what if you have complications and the dr can't finish the procedure laproscopically? What happens? She's questioning me because when I had to have my gallbladder removed, my dr wasn't able to do it laproscopically. I did have to be cut open. I will call my dr tomorrow to get answers but has this ever happened to anyone by chance?
  15. (((Lynda))) that's great! Congrats! So happy for you! I can't wait to join you on that loser's bench!
  16. I'm going to the grocery store tonight after I have my "last supper" and stock up on Soup, yougart, and will get some carnation breakfast. I am assuming that I can have SF Cappacinno, correct?
  17. (((Kelly))) Welcome to VST! I love it here! I wish I wasn't so stressed out right now though:(
  18. What are you favorite ones? I did buy the Curves ones this morning. A friend of mine who had the surgery told me she drove to Planet Nutrition everyday and had the strawberries and cream one but I need good ones to make @ home.
  19. I also start preop diet tomorrow and telling my favs goodbye today. My surgery is on 3/25. Good luck to you and I'm like you......just hurry up day!
  20. (((Barbara and Tif)))) I definitely will:) I'm so looking foward to the changes come my way. I'm trying not to focus on the 2 week diet as I am my eye on the prize such as being able to walk into any store and being able to buy clothes w/o going to the plus size section......Just the thought of that alone......I just can't even imagine........
  21. LOL I hear ya! I'll talk to my hubby about it when he gets home and figure out what I'm gonna do! I can't believe this is actually happening. I'm so excited!
  22. Thank you Krystal. I need all the prayers I can get! I wonder if I should do a last supper tomorrow since I start the liquid diet Thursday??
  23. Wow, I can't believe how fast this is going but when I know what I want, I go after it! I had my consult w/Dr Gary Stevens this morning and he was so nice. We went through my history and he asked me was I ready to get sleeved. I said yes the sooner the better. I'm scheduled for 3/25. I met w/the nutritionist this morning and she was so nice. I am a little weary about the liquid diet for 2 weeks but she gave me a sample menu of what I CAN have. I have to get an EGD done Thursday morning and a little nervous about that. I get my psy eval on Saturyay and then I go do my preop and class on Monday morning and then I'm good to go! I'm so glad I've found this site. I am looking for support from you all who are currently undergoing this process and from the ones who have been sleeved. I've long awaited the new me!
  24. Tif it's nice to meet you as well. I'm getting ready to head out for this appointment. I will share with you all my experience having this consultation. Thanks for your support too!
