  2. Congrats on your date - I'm on June 10th, and theres quite a few of us in June.. so you're gonna have a lot of surgery buddies!! Good luck Kathy
  3. I think she was referring to it sounding like the other side of life, rather than of the op.....:confused1: Anyhow...Good luck Gator Mum.... update as soon as you can. Kathy
  4. Yeahh!! Well done Good luck Kathy
  5. Sounds like his bedside manner could do with a little work, but he may have done you a favour in the long run - get the tests and possibly a second opinion... but you need to be as healthy as possible before going into the op, otherwise you put yourself at risk. Good luck Kathy
  6. Can I ask are you taking tablets or liquids? When in the first liquid stages what do you do with the tablets, just crush them? Kathy
  7. Excellent news - welcome to the June club! :thumbup1: Kathy
  8. Good luck for Wednesday Andrea - Do let us know as soon as you can how it went. I have just over 3 weeks to wait... and boy I think it'll drag by!! Kathy
  9. Good luck! Let us know how you get on. Kathy
  10. Hi and welcome I can't speak of the band, except to say from what I read I decide against it, and then found out about the sleeve, which 'fits' perfectly for me. I know theres lots of peeps having revisions from bands to the sleeve for one reason or another... i decided against it mainly for the following reasons: Foreign object in my body No guarantee to loose, and having to have the band filled up to find your level to loose - and the cost involved with that, would rather have a one off payment (I'm self paying) to make sure its done rather than an unknown amount in the future. Good luck with your research and let us know how it goes Kathy
  11. Good luck - I wrote all mine down, and went thru them all, no matter how silly they sounded, and even have some others for my pre op consult as well on Thursday, as more things occur I just write them down to ask. They've heard it all before, and you can't go into this too prepared in my opinion. Let us know how you get on, Kathy
  12. Good to hear it all went well.... I guess every day will just get better and better from here on in.... well done on the 12lbs off.... awesome start. Kathy
  13. Pnw218 - some good tips there- thanks....I have a feeling I may tell more people in the end, but feel cautious to start with as you did. Thanks for sharing. Kathy
  14. I suppose I am already pre-planning in one way as I have managed to loose just under 19lbs since November on Weight Watchers, so I've had a lot of comments about that. At the moment I have stalled a bit - I think as I am sorting thru my head with my decision to have the sleeve, plus we've had visitors, and have also been away, so I am setting up the fact that I'm going to get more shifted soon... as hubby is on his diet now as well he is spurring me on...so I hope they just think that I've sorted myself out.
  15. I can't believe how quick this time is passing... under 4 weeks to go now until mine.... good luck to peeps starting their pre ops next week. I have my pre op tests on Friday, so will find out mine then - am dreading that part!!! Kathy
  16. Hi Michelle I don't even know what my pre op diet is yet, and fear I will have the same sticking issues... but hope I have the strength behind me to stick with it. My advice to you - 9 more days for something which will change the rest of your life?? Its a no brainer.... try to occupy your mind with anything other than food, clearing out cupboards, clothes, borrow some good films off someone... get stuck into a good book....go to bed! lol!!! Coachs idea is good with listing the reasons why you want to do this, and perhaps stick that on your fridge with a really bad photo of you that you hate??? Good luck - and so many congrats on the 2 stone loss - amazing!!! Kathy
  17. Breezy - I swear by this one all the time, and make friends use it too.... and it works for them. I think it stretches the muscle which causes the hiccups, thus stopping it convulsing and stopping the hiccups. Kathy
  18. HI and welcome. Good luck with your sleep study... let us know how you get on with it Kathy
  19. Fantastic news - and not long to wait for it either now!! Good luck - let us know how you get on. Kathy
  20. Thanks - I think sometimes I just think too much about things!! I love the waving about in the air bit tho!!
  21. I'm starting to wonder what to tell people....and wondered how you all dealt with it. I don't think I want lots of people to know, so at the moment only hubby and my best friend know. But we have a few close friends who own restaurants which we frequent, one on a weekly basis. Any idea on how to cope with this one? Am I just honest with them, or do I in effect lie to people - in which case it then goes on and on the more weight I loose.... and may end up in comments about eating disorders..... Being at the lower end of the BMI scale I don't want people to think I have copped out of dieting... infact I have battled (like most of us) for years with failed diets, and now I am going through with this it isn't a decision I have taken lightly. But I know failure to do this would mean that I will end up gaining more and more in the end. I would add that my husband is an entertainer, so we are semi 'in the spot light' as far as gigs are concerned, so we see a lot of the same people on a regular basis....but not sure I want them all to know...... ARGHH!!! Any advice gratefully taken!! Kathy
  22. Thats a great result!! Well done. Can't wait to be posting the same!! ( Still can't believe I can/will but that'll happen eventually). Keep up the good work Kathy
  23. Hope its going well... keep us informed when you can.
  24. Kzol - sounds like you got a fabulous surgeon. For me I know I was thrilled with my results, and after years of sagging I finally have a pair i am proud of.
