  1. I have a huge bag full of "skinny" clothes when I used to weigh 130 lbs in high school because these are super cute and super expensive outfits that don't really go out of style and I can't part with. I'm hoping to fit in them by summer or the end of summer Can't wait!
  2. Hi everyone! I'm 2 weeks post-op today and wanted to know around when can I start swallowing a capsule instead of mixing it in food. My doctor put me on Actigall in order to prevent gall stones when I go through my "rapid weight loss" time. I haven't been taking my medicine everyday because the taste is extremely bitter and makes me want to gag...
  3. Thank you!! I was sleeved on 2/11...tonight i'll be joining a support group for WLS patients so I'm looking forward to that.
  4. I'm sooooooo happy!! Finally!! I weighed myself this morning and I'm officially out of the two's!! 197.6!! I can't wait to be in the 170s! Sury
  5. Nagaraj, You are right. I going to try and stay calm and focus more on my Protein intake. I haven't been writing anything down and today I started doing that, just to make sure I stay withing 800-900 cals. I have my first doctor follow-up today so lets see how it goes. I'll keep you updated. Thanks again for the words of comfort :001_tongue: Sury
  6. Tiffy you look great! You are truely such an inspiration and thank you do much for answering all the posts! I've been feeling really down this week because I haven't seen a lot of weight loss for myself and you give me hope! Thank you! Sury :tongue_smilie:
  7. Pumpkin: You are not alone. I feel the same way regarding not being able to eat yummy food! I was sleeved 2 days after you in Houston, TX by Dr. Miranda. I feel miserable on this liquid diet! I want to at least eat tuna or chicken or even Baby food!!! When I smell food that others are eating around me my mouth waters! I think about sushi (my favorite food) and my mouth waters! I know this is all mental but it is really disturbing me! I have an appt with a doctor tomorrow and I'm going to discuss these feelings with him and hoping that maybe I can join a support group or something because it's worrying me! :tongue_smilie: How much weight have you lost since your surgery? I've only lost 9 lbs and it worries me as well, don't know If it's ok or too little... Sury
  8. I know Mini-Me you are right. I'm freaking out. Funny enough, my friend and I weighed 211! The same! That's why I started to panic! :tongue_smilie: Hey, can you tell me how I can post a new question on here? Thanks
  9. Hi Kerri! I just had my surgery in Houston as well at the Surgery Specialty Hospitals of America...in Pasadena. This coming thur. will be 2 weeks post-op for me Good Luck with your surgery! Sury
  10. Mini-Me, I'm the same. I love sweet! I want everything sweetened! You are not weird :tongue_smilie: Sury
  11. JeepChick, That's so awesome about your weight loss! I'm very worried because I'm almost 2 weeks post op and have only lost 9 lbs :tongue_smilie: Does that sound normal? My friend had the surgery on Feb. 11th the same day as me and she has lost 17 lbs!! I'm still on my liquid diet (and hating it) and don't understand! Am I doing something wrong?
  12. That's awesome Nagaraj!! Ok, I need some comfort because I'm worried! This coming Thur will be 2 weeks post op for me and so far I've only lost 9 lbs!!! I started at 211 and I'm not at 202! My friend that had surgery the same day that I did also started at 211 and is now at 194!!! What am I doing wrong! I feel so depressed :tongue_smilie: I am still on the liquid diet and believe to be doing everything fine! I don't understand what is going on? Am I not meant to lose weight? I'm sorry I'm having a breakdown here Also, can someone tell me how I can make a new post?? I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find it ! Thanks Sury
  13. Kerri, Who is your surgeon? I just had surgery in Houston, TX with Dr. Fernando Miranda. I definitely recommend you stay at least 1 night! I have a very low tolerance for pain and after surgery I was in quite a bit of pain, plus you get to have a morphine drip (at least I did), not only that but you need to be on IV fluids for at least 24 hours! I don't see how this can be an outpatient procedure. Does he give you the option to stay hospitalized? Ok, keep in touch....when is your surgery scheduled for? Sury
  14. Mini-Me: I'm drinking Water and chewing on ice chips with no problem, I'm just worried that I won't have enough of it and might get dehydrated! The last thing I want to do is end up at the hospital with an IV :biggrin0: I also have the SF Popsicles. We'll see, I'm going to buy the Crystal light and that Special K water to see how it goes. Thanks for your message :001_smile: Sury
  15. Shauna, Congrats!! Tomorrow will be 1 week post-op for me! I'm still very sore in my abdomen and having problems intaking enough Protein, but I think it will all get better! Welcome to this side of the road and good luck on your journey! Sury
  16. Wow! Reading all these stories is just amazing and encourages me so much! Well, I am just 1 week post-op and so eager to start losing. But before I got to a horrible 211lbs I used to be a very active girl. I used to jog, ride bike, do spinning and step classes at the gym and most importantly used to compete in Duathlon and Triahlons. I want to be able to compete in a triathlon again. Be able to easily transition between a swim, bike, and run without any problem at all or feeling like my heart and longs were going to pop out and collapse! I am so excited I have made this decision and so eager to get to the point where a lot of you are at!!! Thanks again for all these wonderful posts! Sury
  17. Hi, Tomorrow will be 1 week post-op for me, and today has been a very bad day! I have hardly had any liquids and I feel like I have pigged out! I feel very fulll! The most I've had is a sugar free pudding cup. I was just chewing on some ice because I'm terrified of dehydration. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks! Sury
  18. Shutterbug and Thinoneday: Thank you so much for your messages! I was really scared last night! Thought of ripping my sleeve were going through my head! Needless to say, I didn't fall asleep till about 2 am! The episodes went away, but I really do think it was the yogurt that was too thick and too late! I did call my doctor's office today and the nurse confirmed it was most likely that. She said I could have yogurt, however to make sure I dilute it with Water and make sure it's not that cold so that my stomach doesn't have any spasms. This morning I have that "full" feeling, I couldn't even finish my 4 oz Protein shake! Now I know I learned my lesson. And I'm so anxious to be over these "healing" days!! Thanks again for your quick responses!! Sury
  19. Ok, I'm freaking out! I'm about 1 week post op and i'm experiencing these weird stomach pains that come and go! Feels like small contractions! I've been doing pretty well on the liquid diet, but tonight I had a small amount of yogurt mixed with my medications (yuck) right before bedtime and then a little while after that the pains started! Has this happened to anyone else? Help! Was the yogurt maybe too thick?
  20. I'm almost 1 week post-op and I'm burping a whole lot! One weird episode I had tonight was weird stomach cramps that come and go. It felt like contractions! I don't know if maybe I ate too late or the yogurt I had was too thick but it freaked me out! Has anything like this happened to anyone before?
  21. Hello Everyone, I was just sleeved on Feb. 11th and now still a little painful in my abdomen. I am also having problems crushing and taking my pills. I tried it with Jello and it made me gag. Next I will try apple juice to see how it goes. I fly back home tomorrow and I'm a little worried about the pain and going on the plane tomorrow. We'll see....has anyone been able to take in all the Protein and Water they are supposed to have? I'm at about half of it.
  22. Wow congrats hope everything went well and that you are feeling no pain! My surgery is less then 1 week away!! I'm sooooooooooo nervous!!!
  23. Hello! Ok, my surgery is scheduled for Feb. 11th and I started my liquid diet yesterday! I can only say this is one of the hardest things I've had to do. I've done pretty well, just cheated with a very small piece of cheese (brie) and I was wondering if I can have a small piece of grilled chicken? I am just starving and have 2 exams to study for
  24. I saw my doctor this past Monday and he told me if a leak is going to occur it is most likely to happen within the 1st week post-surgery. I get sleeved on the 11th of this month and I'm extremely nervous! I just want to get it over with.
  25. Hi, congrats on your surgery! I have my surgery done on Feb. 11th. I will be getting it done in Houston, TX. How do you feel after the procedure?
