  1. I got the gummy vitamins from GNC. Can't remeber the brand, but they look like orange slices. Taste good and go down fine. Only 2 a day!
  2. I am 2 1/2 months post-op and have lost 47 lbs...NO REGRETS!!! Still eat what I want, still have my wine, etc. I do miss soda, but who really needs it when there is Propel? Good luck!
  3. Congrats, Andrea! My doc had me on liquids right after surgery. They did leak test the next day and it was really slow. He wasn't worried. Sent me home with all the normal instructions. My gas lasted in my chest and diaphragm for 3-4 days. So painful when I got home, I was having spasms with every breath. Never heard anyone else having that problem, so I wouldn't worry. Hope they release you soon...good luck!
  4. I have one 2-inch scar right above my belly button. I am only 2 weeks out, so the bruising isn't even gone yet. Not sure what it will look like, but doc told me it will be barely visible...he used glue (no stitches or staples).
  5. How was your follow-up today? I had mine today too!
  6. Ok, have to get a costco card! Tiff, thank you, but I have never been able to bring myself to drink tea. Or coffee for that matter. I am doing a little better now...just trying to get the Protein in. Thanks all!
  7. Hi guys! I am back at work today and feeling great. Rough 3 days after surgery, but pushed through. Thank you to all of you who prayed for me and my whack-job husband. Thank God, he did a full 180 two days prior to surgery. He was there for me and has been ever since. I am having a hard time getting Protein in and liquids too. I do well to get 1 to 1 1/2 bottles of Water a day. Just feels like I am swallowing a golf ball with every drink. Anything else I can try? I have been mixing powder with pudding and skim milk and drinking Boost and Special K Protein drinks. Anyway, I think I am down almost 20 lbs since I started pre-surgery diet!!! Woohooo! Thanks again for everything!
  8. I am scheduled to be sleeved on Thursday! My surgeon is Dr. Dirk Rodriguez in Decatur, TX and he will be using the SILS method...one of the only ones in the state, I think. You can go to www.mybariatricsolutions.com or www.drdirkweightloss.com to check him out. Good Luck!
  9. Hi Tia! I am having my surgery the same day...the 11th! My doctor had me on a high Protein low carb diet 2 weeks out. Then 1 week out, I had to switch to full liquid diet. 2 days out (tomorrow) I have to go Clear liquids. I can't drink anything until Friday morning when they do the leak test. Don't know what I'm going to do. GOOD LUCK on your surgery!!
  10. I am scheduled to be sleeved on March 11th!! Yay! Anyway, my question is...how long after surgery did y'all start having sex? My husband's birthday is on April 13th...will I be ok?
  11. Thank you all for responding. Dr said I can have surgery tomorrow if I want (not really, since I have to do the pre-surgery diet). After I had my son, I lost all my baby weight plus 9 lbs. LOL! Then I gained 10 back! My hasband is also overweight and I think he thinks we are fat and happy together. I have forced him to look at himself and that makes him mad. I feel awful for my children...I spend my weekends in front of tv and taking naps when my husband offers to let me. I want to take my kids to the park and on trips. We do nothing now as far as outdoor activity. I don't want my daughter to grow up thinking this is ok. Thanks again for the responses. I will keep you posted, but I am planning on scheduling my surgery for January 14th.
  12. My surgeon told me that if all goes well, I can be in and out the same day after having VSG. Anyone attempted this? My husband is not supportive of my decision at all. He is telling me that I will have stolen joyful things from our marriage if I go through with it. Champagne, beer, cake and ice cream...I told him I thought I would be able to have an occasional glass of wine. Anyone not able to tolerate wine? I am new to this forum, but have been reading your posts all day! So informative. I have 108 lbs to lose. I am 34 and have a 6 year-old and a 4-month-old. Am I crazy for wanting to do this surgery? I want to be healthy and active with my kids. Anyone's spouse bringing them down?
