Iiiiiitchy!
So the area around my incisions itch - not the incisions themselves, but the areas that still have tape residue that I can't seem to get off. This is just plain torture lol. A little gold bond and I think I'll be ok

Where Are You 200+Er's?
I'm doing great. I didn't have big hunger after surgery. On day 4 I started to feel hungry, but nothing that the liquid diet didn't take care of. I have yet to feel unsatisfied with what I'm allowed to eat.

Where Are You 200+Er's?
I too have about 200 lbs to lose. I will tell you this thought YOU can't tell that you've lost 60 lbs - others CAN. Congrats on the loss so far!

Got Me Thinking
So my family wants me to write a cookbook of all of my recipes. I have a lot of custom recipes that they absolutely love. Most of them are ultra healthy but don't taste like it. Even some of my desserts are quite healthy I think I'm going to do it. I might also do a cookbook for small portions with the same recipes and others that i come up with. Might be a lot of fun I love love love to bake - but don't really eat anything I bake, other than a bite or two - then I give it all away. Holidays are fun - I send so much stuff to family and friends. I like the fact that I can still do that - and I'm going to work on altering some of my more...rich recipes to be more healthy and smaller portions.

Struggles With-In.
agreed - you don't have to be knowledgeable about something to support someone in their struggles. Activity here can definitely help. Having someone to bounce things off of seriously does help - I can definitely say that

Back At Work
If your liver doesn't shrink (mainly because of lack of pre-op diet) when they pull your liver out of the way, sometimes it gets sore. Happens more with bypass patients than others, but it can happen.

First Full-Liquid Meal
I had some cream of mushroom soup. It was delish! I pureed the hell out of the mushrooms instead of straining them - good choice. A little fiber goes a long way haha. I ate probably 1/2 to 2/3 a cup of soup slowly and stopped when I felt full. I'm quite satisfied with the meal and so far, my tummy has not had a problem with anything I've given it. I even had part of a protein shake today at lunch - It wasn't my favorite thing - but it didn't come back up or even give me any trouble. Just kinda sat a little heavy at first. It became easier as I continued on it.

I Haven't Stopped Regretting My Sleeve
That just stinks! I hope that you find out what is causing it! It very well could be lactose intolerance. Could you maybe try a soy or almond milk to check and see if that makes a difference? Its such a vicious cycle, feel like crap so you don't eat, which means less energy which depresses you which makes you feel like crap. I hope you find the way out of the cycle soon. Your tummy must just be super-sensitive. I hope you find a way to make your sleeve love you and you in return can love your sleeve!

When To Return To Work
Well, I do just sit in a chair and do research. Its nothing more active than watching tv and being on here I couldn't imagine going back to a labor intensive job before a few weeks at least. I wouldn't want to run the risk of a hernia or a tear or something. Like I said before, I won't lift anything that's over 10 lbs right now.

Am I Being Hypochondriac?
Its never a bad thing to call your doctor in a situation like this. Look, you already paid a good chunk of his second or third home off - I think you're entitled to a few calls You could have had something stuck too - I hope everything comes out just fine - better to call and have everything be a-ok than not call and have a problem

When To Return To Work
Just don't expect too much of yourself and don't push yourself. If its really taxing - take a break. Work a half a day. Tell your employer that you're shooting for this, but would like some leniency in case you aren't feeling well. Most are understanding especially when you're making such an effort

Superbowl!
One of my favorite things used to be hard salami with cream chesse wrapped around a sweet pickle. I LOVE that. Only way I'll eat pickles haha. January 2012 Sleevers!
Wow! Your post-op goes fast compared to mine! Have you tried Premiere Protein? I don't know what i would have done preop without it! The Max Protein from SEI Nutrition is amazingly tasty too - neither is chalky or have an aftertaste. I'm still on clear liquids till tomorrow, then full liquids for a week, then mushies/purees for a week, then introduce soft, moist foods, then full foods at 5 weeks.

Back At Work
About 2/3 of the way through the day and I'm feeling fine. Drank some broth and some cranberry juice today. I know i need to get in more calories, its just difficult to do with a limited selection. Gonna be able to do creamies tomorrow. I could have today I'm sure but I'm a to-the-letter kind of person with things like this. Almost done with antibiotics - just a couple more days THANK GOD. Pill cutters are your friends. Don't try to crush and dissolve - it tastes like I'm licking a paint brush full of latex paint.

Back At Work
I honestly could have gone back to work yesterday, however, I have had the easiest and most breeziest recovery so far. I got up and walked every 2 hours at least immediately after surgery. I drank my liquids, I walked every day. I have done everything to the letter, taken my antibiotics, etc. Cleaned my inscision sites. I think if you do that and you are typically a fast healer, its possible. But don't count on it. I have walked an hour every day since my surgery, not counting usual activity. I'm doing dishes, etc. I won't lift anything over 10 lbs and if it requires me to stretch to the point where it feels like it tweaks or pulls my torso, I won't do it. At least not yet. I wanna make sure my incisions heal properly. That being said - everyone handles pain differently too. Everyone gets a different amount of pain. I don't have any pain from liver retraction ( I guess I shrunk my liver well!) I haven't taken pain meds since the day after my surgery. I'm VERY fortunate. If you don't feel comfortable, DON'T PUSH IT. You'll do yourself more harm in the end. I promise you that. I felt comfortable sitting at my desk so I decided why not? I also have the luxury of walking away since I work at home. Talk to your employer and tell them maybe that's what you aim for, but can't promise it. I'm sure they'll be understanding - maybe even working half days for a week to get yourself ready to be back full-time

Back At Work
I go back to work today too - I work from home so its not like I have commute or anything I dunno - I don't really like the project I'm on and perhaps might be put on another project which is both daunting and exciting at the same time. I mean, I can handle the project I'm on now - but the fact that a new one might be worse bugs me haha.
