Seriously About To Give Up Food Entirely!
Part of the reason you're probably having trouble with so many foods IS the dehydration. You may need to go get rehydrated if its that bad. I'd nip it in the bud before you end up admitted - a trip to the ER or to your doctor's office might be called for here - they can give you IV fluids and send you on your way with a better start!

Ask The Person Below A Question, Answer The One Above.
absolutely! Its only right! Question: If you could pick one person in history "why did you do that?" Who would you ask and what would you ask them about?

Period Question
yeah I went thru that too - had mine on my preop - but eventually the scale plummeted! That's always a nice feeling to look forward to!

No Family Support
People's self-imposed ignorance is kindof humorous to me. They have no idea how much they sound like an idiot. I typically laugh at it because you can't enlighten those that demand sitting in the dark. All you can do is nod and smile. I'm sure by the way you're talking that there's no "M.D." after your mother's name, so her opinion on your medical condition and your ability to have future children is really quite moot. I personally am the kind of person that would say "yes, I'm not going to have another grandchild, I'm afraid voluntary stupidity skips a generation and I don't want my kids to get it from you" but hey - that's just me. It really doesn't matter what you tell her - she's not going to change her mind until she decides to change her mind. Live your life, let her do the panicking and worrying.

Exercise Poll
perhaps try walking on your lunch at work? Its a start! I know its hard to get started, but its worth it - it can actually cut the exhaustion!

Can I ask where you got your information about a "nicked artery"?

Dr. Kelly Drama, Coordinators, Etc.
Actually, there has been a lot of talk about the "death" - and that it very well may not have happened as was told by "A lighter me" - irregardless, 1 death in a surgeon's career, while tragic for the family and the surgeon himself doesn't not make him a bad surgeon. One death does not erase hundreds and hundreds of great successful surgeries - especially when the patient's condition was unknown. There has been no medical report released to the public about the cause of death of this woman. For all I know, she had a pulmonary embolism and died from that days after surgery. Dr. Kelly is a member of FACS - you don't get there by making mistakes.

Exercise Poll
Well for me, I did run and work out every day - then I got sick and was basically bed-ridden and then put on huge amounts of steroids which actually made me sicker. Other people have had food addictions that, like ANY other addiction has taken priority over exercising and other activities. The thing about food addiction that makes it a MILLION times harder to kick than any other addiction is that you can't quit cold turkey - you can't really 'DETOX' because you need food to survive. That's where the sleeve and a lot of internal work come in. Can I ask why you aren't able to exercise?
-
Exercise Poll
I'm not far enough out to really "hit it hard" but I do make sure I walk for at least an hour every day. That will increase to circuit training and jogging as soon as I'm able.

1 Day To Go
good luck! There's plenty of room on the losers bench! Things are so much different on the other side - while the diet is pretty much the same for the first week post op, its actually quite satisfying because you're not really hungry. What hunger you do have, the broth completely takes care of. Good luck and let us know how it all goes!

Mixed Bag, But Mostly Good!
Awesome! You absolutely can do this! It gets better every day! Keep walking - even if just around the house! It makes the difference!

Just Got Sleeved.... And The Scale Is Not Moving Yet?
You're 4 days post-op. You know all those bags of IV's they dumped into you? Those all need to come out still. Your body tissue is swollen from being poked and prodded in. Your body is adjusting to the changes - its not going to be all that ready to let go of anything excess until it starts to heal. its quite normal to not have lost anything yet - and even normal to have actually gained. Ditch the scale for at least a week. Oh and dont' panic if you get your period and the scale goes up again - totally normal. Just get your liquids in - once your body realizes that you're going to keep giving it what it needs, it'll give up all the excess. Just be prepared to pee a lot! Make sure you have plenty of toilet paper in the bathroom! haha

One of the things that can happen when you have trauma when being overweight, is that the injury doesn't heal because of the weight affecting the weakened area. So yes, your doctor is probably correct that your weight has a lot to do with it. Those injuries can heal a whole lot faster when there's no stress of excess weight on them.

Only Sleeve In A Gastric Bypass Support Group Meeting ...
I would totally go hang out with you if I lived there! It did amaze me at all the different support group meetings and nutritional meetings I went to how clueless people are. And yes, 99% of them seem to be bypass recipients. "Yes, but I like pizza, when do I get to eat pizza" "So I can have beer on superbowl sunday, right?" (their surgery was 2nd week of January) The people left needing blood transfusions because they're so Iron deficient, etc. Its SCARY to me. and I'm soooooooo sorry for saying this, but i couldn't help myself! SAN DIMAS HIGHSCHOOL FOOTBALL ROCKS!

Dr. Kelly Drama, Coordinators, Etc.
All of these doctors are exceptional doctors. The problem comes in when the doctor gets tired of the drama and stops using a coordinating service. Then they lie about him. Look at the actual true stats of a doctor. Its important to do so. Not all coordinators are drama queens either. Some are very helpful and nice. I was fortunate to have that. I can tell you that I researched every surgeon in Mexico thoroughly before making my decision. I didn't choose one over the other because of some 7th grade game of telephone that some jaded coordinators were playing. Please don't consider whether or not a doctor chooses to work with a marketing company as a reason to trust or not trust that doctor. Call and talk to the staff at the hospital if you want to know what's really going on.

Period Question

Confused And Depressed -- I Don't Want To Regret This!
boy do we have a lot in common - mine wasn't accidents, it was actual poisoning. Our lives seem to be near replicas. Now we're both on our way back to the healthy lifestyle we once thrived in You are truly, truly NOT alone I do know what you're going thru.

Confused And Depressed -- I Don't Want To Regret This!
This too shall pass. Have you tried maybe using an unsweetened almond milk instead of regular milk for your shakes? The only person that knows besides my husband is one of my sisters. I understand not telling people. Everyone's post op diet is different from every doctor. It amazes me too that some people are on solid food less than 2 weeks out. I couldn't imagine that. As for the sounds, that's usually acid - are you on an acid reducer? Please just take things one day at a time and know that you're not alone. There are lots of us going through issues that lead to depression or other rough feelings. Just know that you're doing this for your health, both body and mind. Your mind and heart can't be fully healthy if your body isn't, in my opinion. You will overcome those feelings. We're always here to listen!

Eight Weeks Out And Im At A Stall, Why? What Can I Do To Jump Start This?
I would definitely up the calories a bit and see if that makes a difference. Everyone's body stalls at a point where its used to being at. In the past, have you dieted or been stable at this weight? Your body does tend to "remember" things - it will pass though

Tastes Much More Sensitive
I have noticed it. I used to enjoy the bitter taste of nutratsweet - now I cannot stand it.
