  1. my husband has seen me yo yo for many years. he was always amazed of my will power. but the last 2 years i couldn't lose no matter the diet i was on. every medication including insulin caused weight gain. when he saw me in the ER and my heart stopped he got post traumatic stress syndrome. it freaked him out. when i got home from the hosptial he started helping me with medications and started doing more things around the house. he even started calling me from work to see how i was. when i first mentioned the wls he was all on board. reading all the articles on the internet going to my meetings etc. my family wanted me to live and know how hard i tried to lose wt. he just told me today how amazed he is with my inner strength. ahhhhhhhhh
  2. ya me too! i couldn't believe how supportive all my different doctors were to wls. it made me feel good knowing i was choosing right. but i think all of our life's stories are similar.
  3. a little leaflet that explains how to give your heart to Jesus.
  4. i betcha a million that she is the one in the fast lane being the speed police. but as parents we have a choice. don't take your children to her house. i remember my mom when the church asked all members to put religious tracks in bags instead of candy. my mom refused. she said that halloween and every other holiday is a chance to celebrate and have fun and we have so little time for fun. i love my mom. she is a very wise woman.
  5. yes i do but i was talking so fast with my fingers i put in the wrong name ss you guys are so funny!
  6. my doctor put me on medication that helps prevent gallstones.
  7. i am giggeling because eric the administrator congratulated me on my 100th post. now i have been called a babbling brooke and a rambling rose on occassion and i've been asked if i was finished talking yet? but on this wonderful site i can ramble on and state my opinion whenever i want and than get congratulated. life is good.
  8. there is one more i used, it was called Betty Lou's. i chose this one because it has a low glycemic value. gluten, sugar and hormone free. it also has a digestive enzyme and probiotic. i was using it all the time pre-surgery but than i did a protein calorie count for the day. it has 20 grams of protein but 180 calories. i just think i can get in my protein with 100 calories instead of the 180. but if all the minerals, vitamins, etc. is important than this is the protein for you. it has an excellent taste.
  9. don't know but would love to find out what you find out
  10. You are doing quite well actually. to lose 13 lbs this quick after surgery is good. but yes feeling hungry is part of it. liquids and mushy foods just doesnt stick with you long. just try and remember your diet knowledge. low fat, low sugar, low carbs, low calories to get you through until you start getting some restriction with fills. good luck
  11. i use nectar 20 grams of protein 100 cal. i use alot chike coffee protein. it is 130 calories and 20 gms of protein. i really like this one a lot. if you need a pick up in the morning i suggest click espresso protein drink. it is120 calories and 15 g. of protein. i am into chocolate and coffee. i do all my shopping on amazon. the prices are right plus you can find all the varities available including snack food.
  12. i am truly sorry you had a bad experience. my main goal as with most of the ppl on here is to be supportive and educational. please don't hold 1 persons bad manners against this web site. it is a great web site. you will learn a great deal from the ppl here that are on different levels of band life. i promise you will be supported.
  13. my surgeon didnt give me a choice. mine is on the right side below the rib cage but above the waist line. it doesnt seem to get in the way at all. i have very little trouble with the port.
  14. i don't weigh myself at home at all anymore. it is my downfall. if there is a gain i will starve myself for the day if i lose i let my brain tell me it's okay to eat. and i can't seem to stop that voice in my head. just like your voice is telling you that mushies are making you gain weight so you want solid food. our brain is such a powerful ally or it is a powerful foe. try not to listen to it unless it is being a positive voice.
  15. i take everything i took before the band. i have severe allergies. so i take claritan, floriside nasal spray and benedryl at night. fall time in the northwest is the worst for me.
  16. yesterday i had a protein shake for breakfast. was going shopping and had a early start for the day. lunch was a avocado sandwich on 1 piece of bread. a tsp of lite mayo. dinner was homemade sloppy joe. i used bread one slice instead of a bun. since it was saturday i treat myself with popcorn that i pop myself in a pan. Sat. is a cheat day for me my protein was 61.2 calories 1112. today for breakfast i had 3 eggs scrambled with siranchi chili and chives. like missy i don't restrict carbs. they are a good way for me to have real food and not just sliders 3 times a day. i will eat about 900 cal. today. fish for dinner with salad. protein drink at lunch.
  17. nope, but i like strong assertive women. and i like your humor. it's dry wit which i like. did you see how many ppl responded to your er visit.?
  18. i am only a side sleeper. slept on my side even in the hospital. sometimes i even get on my stomach. no problems.
  19. everyone has a different recovery from surgery. you had a tube down your throat for surgery. it could cause soreness, hoarseness. sipping fluids is about all anyone does after surgery. i was in the hospital for 2 days and they had given me a bottle of crystal lite and i think i drank about a quarter of it in the 2 days. i found that those little sponges they give you to brush your teeth with was my life savior. i put it in ice cold water and sucked on it. just make the sips of fluid your goal on a 24 hour basis. and remember to take your pain medication. either chew it or crush it . good luck to the two of you.
  20. welcome to this site. everyone on here is very supportive. it's been a life savior for me.
  21. glad it resolved. i also get a fill on the 31st. happy halloween to the both of us. is there liquid snickers out there? lol
  22. i am wondering the same question. what does it feel like to be in the green zone?
