  1. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work the next Monday. I too have a desk job. My only suggestion to you is take a small pillow for your back. But only needed it for a couple of days. Good luck with everything.
  2. During this time I enjoyed tomato basil soup and golden squash soup. I didn't even know I liked squash! The tomato basil reminded me of the sauce on raviolies. Also, I had some hot and sour broth with plain protein powder mixed in.
  3. Welcome to the banded world. And vent away! The people around here all went through the same phase and it will pass. I'm 3 1/2 months out from my surgery and it is a distant memory. Just focus on healing yourself. Again, welcome to the club.
  4. Awesome and congrats! I hope to be in that same place with my next fill!
  5. I like myfitnesspal as well. It syncs with my fitbit and let's me know how well I'm doing.
  6. A Fluoro fill is done under a fluoroscope ...kinda like a real time X-ray. It helps locating the port and then can be used to see a barium drink going down past the band.
  7. I had my third fill yesterday. My post fill days are 2 days of liquids. I think its because of possible swelling due to the fill. My PA has been pretty aggressive. I go every 4 weeks. Had 3cc's the first time, 2cc's the second and 1.5 yesterday. Hoping I'm getting closer to green!
  8. Great to hear things are going good for you. I was banded a little before you. I'm down 28 lbs. Bravo to us for making it through the holidays!
  9. Congrats to being on the banded side! I also had an overnight stay. So glad I did! Get up and get walking as soon as you can. Best wishes.
  10. Every doc is different. I was banded the day before you and have already had 2 fills. I go for my third on Jan 6th. My doc sees me every 4 weeks. I had 3 cc's the first fill and a little over 2 cc's the second - in a 10 cc band. I think I need just a little more to be where I need to be. Good luck!
  11. How awesome! You have certainly put in the work this past year and it shows. Congrats!
  12. Beautiful! Love the bright colors!
  13. Have you invited your friend to this forum? At least the advice here is coming from those who have been through it!
  14. Sometimes I get that same feeling. No pain but just some pressure. It's usually relieved after a small burb. Not sure if this is the same cause as what you are feeling.
  15. I am self pay too but after my first year it will be $250 per fill - done under fluoroscope. Hoping to be in the green zone before that happens!
  16. Great to hear you are doing well. I'm 8 weeks post op and I've also had 2 fills. My PA is being aggressive. I have a little over 5 cc's in my 10 cc band. The 3 weeks between fills were rough and I gained 4 lbs back. Since my fill last week, those 4 have come off plus another 2. Feeling more in control again. I don't know about you, but I think I can get through the holidays and face the new year with my head up high! Cheers to us!!
  17. I've had the same issue, but if I wait on the blank page for a minute or so, it finally shows up
  18. I see it on my iPad app too. I don't even try to read they when they have all of the code around them.
  19. Hi there. Congrats on getting the band. I'm not an expert by far, but recently had this done myself. I was banded on Oct 15th. The first few days I was only supposed to drink Clear liquids...broth and such. I was able to move to full liquids like the Protein shakes a few days after surgery. I slept in my recliner the first 4 or 5 nights. I just couldn't lay flat. I probably had the gas pains for a week or two....however, it got less painful each day. I found that the pre-made shakes were easier for me to drink then the ones than the powders. I'm feeling great now....I've had one fill....lost 14lbs since surgery, for a total of 22 including my pre op diet. Down around 3 inches from my stomach!! I also had my gall bladder removed several years ago and didn't have any gas pains...not much recovery time. I thought this was going to be similar, but found out it was a bit more recovery! Good luck on your journey.
  20. I was banded on a Tuesday and went back to work at a desk job the following Monday. The only problems I had was sitting straight up. I couldn't slouch because of the incisions. I brought a throw pillow the next day and it was so much better!
