  1. Michelle - you took the words right out of my mouth!
  2. Hi Irisheyes! Welcome to LBT! Yes, with the right fill level, you have very little appetite and eat less. Good luck!:D

Kathy - You have missed your calling in life..... you NEED to be a writer! you are good!
  5. I know we have alot of readers that have swimming pools. Does anyone know of a good ALARM that floats around in the pool and sounds off when something submerges (like a child)?
  6. Karen, I was just wondering about the biotin. Someone (my docs nurse) recently recommended that I take it, so I bought some yesterday at Walmat. Does it really help? My doc's nurse said that it does!

What is the deal???? Trying to find shorts that do not show the fat thighs are VERY hard to find. I have a pair of old b/j shorts that come about an inch above the knee - and they hide everything that needs to be hiden - all the dimples and bumps from cellulite! Since I am so tired of trying on shorts, I got my tape measure out, measured the seam on the outside and started shopping & measuring the outer seam as soon as I found something long enough that caught my eye. But the next problem was the bottom part of the leg flares out and makes your thighs look bigger then they actually are. Looks like huge bells Im fixin to start my own designer clothes.... who ever makes plus size short shorts with flare out legs NEEDS TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!! Anyone relate?

Mary, at the top of this page, Geezer Sue gave us a chart for bra shopping. (by the way - where is she, havent seen her around in a while) So, according to this chart, you may want to try a 36 DDD. Again, its like anything else, different brands are sized differently. So you may need to take several brands of the same size to get the "right" one! *sigh* even bra shopping is a challenge!
  9. Hi Hamu, and WELCOME to LBT! My goodness, youve had a rough start! So glad you are healing though... slowly, but surely! I *think* "New Hope" AKA Marie also had this surgery at the time she was banded. You may want to PM her to get details. Good luck and keep us updated!

I havent seen here around in a while. Hope she's ok! DeLarla? You there????
  11. When did you get this fill? Most surgeons (and all of us here) recommend at least 24 hours of liquids after a fill, and another 24 hours of mushies. Are you having any trouble drinking Water? even sips?? If so, then you may be too tight. If not, then try taking smaller bites and waiting longer between bites. Heres a thread that we talked in detail about PB's. Good luck, and keep us posted on your journey! http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=4170
  12. Gosh, you are an awesome sister! And WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME to our family! ((hugs))
  13. John, I just noticed that you have lost 12 pounds in a month... OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!! You are kicking some butt here! :banana And you arent even banded!
  14. How neat is that??? You two are truly a team now! You & you sister sound like me and mine. Im hoping that my sis will get the band as well. What a great source of support!
  15. I asked this question a while back, but aimed at more of a CBC - general bloodwork. Some people say every 6 months we should get checked, just to see if we are getting everything we need, and that our levels are in a normal range. Here's the link so you can read what everyones response was... http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=6503
  16. gigglegirl, try cutting your meat into VERY small pieces - like the size of an M&M - and see if this helps. After you swallow, count to 30 before another bite. This will help you get into the habit of eating slower and smaller bites. Try eating about 5 (?) pieces like this. Just see if this works, and let us know! Monica, it has taken me a while to "figure" out what restriction actually is, so bare with me as Im going to try and give details of my restricion journey... after banding, I *NEVER* felt ANY type of restricion. THEN the morning before I recieved my first fill (4 weeks post op) I ate a piece of left over pizza and WHAM!!! got the tightness in chest and slime mouth. Until that point I had never experienced this feeling... remember now, this was 4 weeks post op! I dont remember much about this first fill, just that I seemed to never feel full - which is what we are all seeking in banded life . Then I got my 2nd fill. Doc gave me .2cc's more. Afterwards, I went into the waiting room to drink my Water and I could feel it gurggling in my esophgus (sp?) as the water was trickling through my band. This was new! hmmmm, maybe I have restriction! Although I still had no idea how to analyze what my body/band was telling me, I still ate even though I wasnt hungry. About 5 weeks later, I could only eat 1/2 of what I was eating at the time of my fill. would get the tightness in chest feeling - thats when I realized that my "fill" must have kicked in. Now, whats REALLY interesting is that 2 weeks ago I had a stomach bug. Didnt vomit, but was very nauseated and had diarrhea. Since this began, I have had GREAT restriction. NEVER hungry!!! Tummy doesnt even growl. And very small portions are filling me... Yesterday I ate a 1/2 sandwich, McD's icecream cone & for supper, a bowl of cerel . Thats it! SuPeR restriction! And last fill was in Nov!
  17. Starbright, get this... when my oldest was in kindergarden, he made friends with Justin. From day one, he and Justin were the best of friends. Whats strange? He and Justin were the ONLY 2 kids (out of 26) that had stay-home-moms. Now they are in 3rd grade, and yes! they are still best buddies! On the other hand, ever noticed that Nanny 911 always goes to the houses where Mom stays home?

Thanks Trish! How in the world did you do that??? It was time for a new one - the other one was taken at Christmas.
  19. What in the world is going on? Seems to be getting worse? And youve had this since banding.... dont like this! With these problems, you havent even been able to enjoy your 20 pound loss
  20. Yeah Margo! It will be here before you know it! :D
  21. To heck if you are not ready for some meats - who in the world could refuse to eat this feast? Im trying to remember when you were banded. You may be right - just give it a little more time for certain things.
  22. Hi Debby! Since we are having a big reduction of food intake - our output should be reduced as well. So your body just may not have enough inside to produce something! This thread should help you... http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=5215
  23. What did he recommend? Im like the others - gatorade, Powerade, etc should help. How are you doing? Any more leg pain?
