Friday works best for me too cuz I'm pretty slow movin on Monday mornings. Spending way to much time on here instead of walking and doing housework. This is sooooo much more fun! I'm blond and chubby too! I'm also 5'10'' so you can see me a long way away! I looked at Mer's info and saw a picture, nice smile. you look like someone I will enjoy getting to know. Anyone else coming? It will be fun!

hi guys! I have to change the time on the Auburn mall meet-up. I just heard from the nurse that I have to be at St. Francis from 6:30-12:00 for pre-op tests on Thursday and then I have my psych test after that so Thursday is out for me. Friday works for me. No appointments. Can anyone meet on Friday? Monday the 30th works around noon or Wednesday the 2nd is open. I just got hammered with appointments this morning so my window of opportunity is greatly narrowed. Who will be there and what will you look like. I could just ask everyone who is overweight if they are here to meet the bansters group but someone might get offended. Let me know!

I'm at Dr. Ohs office in Federal Way, not to far off of Hwy 18 and I-5. He has done thousands of LB's and is a 'center for excellence'. He has a 70% success rate which is high for the band. I really like his staff and there is quite a few of us on the Washington site who go to him. I've heard good things about Dr. fox too.

Jena - lucky you if you have insurance, welcome to the Washington bandetts (so far no men folk have shown up since I've been here) Hopefully the process will go quickly for you.

Jennifer - Merrillee has mentioned you I think. Are you going to be there in the afternoon? I'm at Dr.Ohs in the morning. You've lost a lot already, that's great! You must be doing everything right.

Merrillee - I have walked 7 days in a row. That's some record for me. I have to keep up the motivation.

How about Thursday April 26th at the Auburn mall. Is the carosel still there? How about on the food court side of the carosel at 10am? Does that work for people? I think that is in front of Cinnabons which is torture for those of you already banded or on pre-ops so if you want to pick a different place just let me know. I'm pretty sure I'm spelling carosel wrong but I don't see a spell check on this thing.

Almost Banded!!!
Stacy - hi there, I start my pre-op on 5/3 with surgery on 5/17. I had a little taste of the clear liquid only for two days before my scoping. I was just on one of the other threads that was giving lot's of great advise and ideas on what to drink when it's liquid only. This site has loads of info if you spend some time looking. Good luck and stay strong!

Cindy - I don't have my band yet. I'm scheduled for 5/17. That's why I'm looking for suggestions on Clear liquids. I start pre-op, liquids only, on 5/3 and can't remember at the seminar if they said clear or just liquid. I had a hard enough time on the two days of clear liquids before my scoping. I'm really wondering how I'm going to get through three weeks or more. Sue - I think 2 days constitutes the start of a streak. I took Puddin today on the Grandview walk. she did great but wanted to stop often to let everyone pet her. She did really well with the other dogs to my surprise but there weren't that many today . . . .good thing. I had to carry her towards the end for a small break after about 40 minutes, but she got down after 5 minutes and finished the walk. We will have to see how they do togther. FYI - Puddin is my 5 pound yorkie dog who is 4 1/2 years old. Yea! . . . i finished 5 days in a row on the walking. I'm committed to this!!!

nbjen - I heard somewhere that those headachs were from sugar withdrawl. I always get them on about day three of a diet. What kind of protien are you drinking? Can it be a powder on your Clear liquids pre-op? Is pre-op clear or just liquid, i can't remember. Maybe we should set a date for the auburn mall meetup and then see who shows up. I know Sue can only do it on Tuesdays and Thursdays because of work. I've got the 24th & 26th open in April or the 10th & 15th in May. Do any of those dates work for the rest of you? I'm off to walk . . .5 days in a row . . . a beginning!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
Tracey - I had a very annoying mother who was pretty much critical of everything I or my kids did. We moved eight hours away and things got better but she still ragged on my sibblings and their families. Anyhow . . . a year ago last February she had a massive stroke . . . parallized left side of her body . . . speech impairment . . . personality change. She is gentle and childlike now but I miss my old mom. All this to say, love the mom you got because you never know when everything could change. Gotta go walk, 5th day straight of walking, 2 weeks till liquids only, a new beginning!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
I start liquids 5/3 so I am finding this thread very informative. How do you keep your calories up on clear liquids?

Merrillee - Sounds like you are ready for mushies. . . .maybe to much Water and crystal lite? When do you get to expand your fluids into opaque land? We were talking about meeting at the Auburn mall so nbjen could come too. does that work for you? we could have a catchy name like the 'Ohs goes gang' or something. Sue and I also meet in University Place down on Grandview where the new golf course is going in to walk. They have a great place to walk and are opening a 2.5 mile walk that goes above the golf course and down along the water. It was absolutley gorgeous today! Are you walking? How did you add that ticker? Sue - nice you could join us . . . it's a great group of people here. I see that you figured out how to add stuff already. You know that doesn't surprise me one bit.

you are cracking me up! Quit thinking about eating and instead think about the weight that is just falling off because you are sooooo good at following the rules. Then remember how much you paid for this and how silly it would be to waste all that money. Then think about how much you could hurt yourself if you don't follow the rules. Think about all those great looking clothes that you will be able to buy from any department at Nordstroms and not just the tent and awning section. Now get going and do the right thing!!!! Remember . . . You owe me one pep talk in a few weeks. sounds like you are doing great so keep up the good work!

Tanderson - When I first decided to do this after my seminar on lap bands I had a 'eat before you can't anymore' mentality. I put on 10 pounds in about two weeks and freaked myself out. Now I know I start clear liquids in two weeks for pre-op and I started walking, watching junk food, and eating good food that is healthy. The ten pounds are off and I hope to have some more off before pre-op. I think a lot of us had the same reaction as you. It's time to get your head in the game! Good luck!

guess what guys?! I got a surgery date!! 5/17. It's clear liquids starting the 3rd. Boy I am going to need help on that one! nbjen - since you will just have finished with your two weeks post op about the time I start mine then you will have to share all your wisdom and ideas of what I can have. I think it is great that we are all following each other through the process. I'm thinking right now that I need to go eat all my favorite foods in the next two weeks. Is that sick or what. On the positive side . . . . I have walked for four days straight! Doesn't sound like much but for me it is. I have walked between 35 - 50 minutes each time. I really want to make exercise something I crave as much as I did food. Hey maybe we can meet bi-monthly at the Auburn mall for a walk around, jamba juice, and support. What do you think? Maybe nbjen can show us all how to put those cute little ticker bars on our replys . . .I havn't a clue.

Is that common then to have absorption problems with the sleeve? Has anyone else heard of problems wth the sleeve? I can't imagine being anemic all the time and having an IV every few months. It seems like the head issues are the real demons here that we have to fight. Any ideas on fixing whats in your head?
