Is anyone NOT exercising???
I am so happy that you did it grey!!!! That is the way to take the bull by the horns. You know what you need to do. You know your not superwoman. But, you don't have to get to that point again. You know what pain is and now you can stop and say, whoa, I need to slow down a bit. That is what is nice about having exercise experience like you have had...you now KNOW when to cool down to not get hurt!!! You rock, girl!!!

Is anyone NOT exercising???
Wow!!! It seems like the you don't know me comment hits hard. All of the people who have posted to exercise KNOW that is what has got them to goal and is KEEPING them at goal. I was you are one time also. I had severe sleep apnea. I was self pay for this surgery and I was bound and determined that if I paid $13,500 for something I was going to get the most out of it. I started walking around the hospital a few hours after surgery and have not quit moving since. I made up my mind I was gonna do it. I walked around my back yard for a week. Then over to the park. Then soon I was walking a few miles, then 5 miles. Then I tried running. That did not work for me, so I bought a bike. I have myself bought, 5 bikes since July of 07. That is not including the 7 others for my family. I found out that biking is MY thing. I started out with a el cheapo Kmart bike. Moved up to a sport comfort bike. Went to a road bike. Then a mountain bike. Upgraded to my current road bike. This is the trick to exercise. Something that you love to do. You have to find it. I knew after being able to walk 5 miles, I was bored. Running didn't interest me, but when I got on a bike, I felt like I was accomplishing something. I do know what it feels like to fall asleep during the day, trying to stay awake while driving. It is not a fun thing. Just don't think that everyone who exercises has never experienced what you have. We just KNOW what it is going to take to do this and to keep the weight off. There are plenty of people who lose weight without exercising at all, but they lose their muscle as they lose the weight. Muscle is what keeps our metabolism up so we can burn more fat all the time. There is lunchtime at work, walk during it. There is time to find to exercise. Like WASA says, if you have time to be on a message board, you have time to exercise. We are not being rude in the least bit, but we are motivated to help others who may not know or understand the importance of exercise. Where I was banded, I had a team that helped me through. I had a dietitian, exercise physiologist, RN, and the doctor. I got it right away that the exercise was important or the physiologist would not be spending 15-30 minutes with me every time I went for a fill or check up. I, for one, would rather weigh 200 with all the muscle I have and all the energy I have, than 150, with no muscle and no energy. Its a choice and its not what most people want to hear, but its the truth. No one said you have to be a marathon runner. Maybe running is not for you. But, you do need to move your body. That will help with your energy, help you sleep better and soon you will be off your C-pap, then what excuse will you have???? Just start, even if it is a ten minute walk. Put your son in a stroller, and go!!! Good luck to you!!!

I am so so so angry and need to vent with those who understand, hopefully
Not only is the a very important post for people to read, but also people need to research the band too!!! Too many people go into this with their eyes shut, evident by the amount of posts that say something along the lines of, " I didn't know I was going to have five scars", or " I didn't know I couldn't eat solid food for weeks after surgery". People really need to study and read as much as possible. I knew so much about this surgery that I was telling the staff things that they didn't know!!!! Thank you for posting this!!!! Everyone, check out every single thing!!!

gained weight!!!!!!
Its so easy when you are pretty new at this to get alarmed and worried when you aren't losing. Some people lose from the first day and never stop, some people don't lose anything, and even gain weight before they reach their sweet spot, and some lose and then gain and then lose and then gain. Everyone is so different!!! You will be fine. Your body is trying to get used to what just happened to it!! Just rest and try not to worry so much about the pounds falling off right now. It will come, I promise. Good luck to you!!!

Which foods can you not eat?
Apparently, lima beans are not my friend. Since I didn't learn last night at dinner, I decided to try again for lunch today. And no, they are still not my friend. I think it was the tough skin and too big of bite...

Oh, and that is a GREAT NSV!!!! I can't wait to go to Lagoon in Utah and ride the rides. The last time we were there, I was the carry on person....ya know....the person to carry everything that others could not carry on the rides..... I did get to go on the Haunted House ride.....and I got stuck trying to get out of my seat....the kid who was running the ride, would not help me get out...it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo embarassing.....

TG, glad you found a new seat. I can't give any advice on the daily plate thing because I have just started using it too. Hopefully we can get this worked out!!

A thought...especially for the moms on the forum
Well, the first thing you need to do it to get off that sugar!!!!! You are feeding your addiction with sugar. NOT GOOD!!!! Stop!!!!!! If you are so tight you just eat junk, get an unfill for awhile so you can eat something that is good for you. The only way is to NOT eat sugar. Later on you may be able to add it in, but if you can't without losing control, then don't. You can do this. You can do this for you!!!!!

New To The World Of Lap Band
RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH....that is my advice. Know everything that could happen before, during and after surgery. Know that you will not be eating solid food for awhile after surgery. Know that you will not get a fill and then eat solid food that day. Know everything. SO many people get on and have all these questions about the band and what is happening, like they have no clue what is going on. This is the best decision you can make for yourselves, just know all that you can and arm yourself with information. Good luck with your journeys!!

Pre-Op stage..inspired by folks on this site
Its probably your computer. Good luck with your journey!!!

Anyone else noticed?
It would seem they hear about the Lapband and then go to the doctor, demand the Band, and THEN decide they should know a little more about it. It is crazy. WASA, that is a scary story. How many others are out there doing the same thing in the name of el cheapo?????? Dumb, just plain, dumb.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!
I just read that link that was posted by froggi, and my doctor took me off my insulin resistance meds, BP meds the day after surgery. My cpap is gone and has been for quite some time. Do they think they have magic thing there, that they only get to get off meds???? Hmmmmm, very weird.

Anyone else noticed?
I am in on this one with you guys. Is this where you all hang out if you can't handle reading any more intruductions, like the one today that said...."I didn't realize I would have five scars".....WHATTTTTTTT???????? How much did you really research this???? Its scary, and it gets quite annoying.
