  1. BB, I believe there are three of us going to school, one getting her Masters!!!! I have been a housewife and so am just starting my second career. I have had jobs off and on, here and there, but nothing that paid anything that I would want to do it the rest of my life. I am looking forward to be in the working field and NOT HAVING TO STUDY ANYMORE!! Yes, HP, this was the time I disappeared last year and then went on a plateau too. As I look back at my weight loss, I dropped 30 pounds from August 07 until May 08....not so good. But at least it was not a gain. I dropped the majority of my wieght in the first four months of banding. Hopefully, I will not let that happen again this year.
  2. Welcome tiger!!!! HP, did you have a great weekend or what????? I love your new avatar!!!!! A ticket??? To see me????????????????????????????? That is way way way cool. You HAVE to bring your bike though!!!! I don't know about fall...school starts again on the 25th, I go all day and have a night class two nights a week.. Spanish in healthcare. I speak no Spanish now...it ought to be interesting thats for sure!!! Glad BG and J are safe and not in the hospital. I can't wait to see pictures....can you put a link???
  3. Oh, just to let you know, I got in 23 mile ride this morning and now am officially under 25 miles to go until I hit my season goal....yippeeeeee me....It really really was fun having a goal to attain that had nothing to do with losing weight!!
  4. We are going camping today!! Hopefully it will not be too hot. HP, have fun camping, as well. J and BG, have a blast doing MB, and please be careful!! Have a great weekend everybody....talk to you soon!!
  5. In fifteen months I have only PB's once and that was on hot dogs mixed with baked beans. I had left overs from the Fourth of July. I will not have hot dogs ever again. I have slimed really really bad and felt like I was going to throw up (saliva rushing into mouth, queasy stomach) but only the once a PB and I just assume keep it that way!!!
  6. I can't believe he would give you a fill if you have been vomiting. That just doesn't sound right. I would, quite honestly, call him and talk to him.
  7. Agreed!! Drinking liquids forever is not my idea of fun. Also, a person could potentially GAIN weight, if taking in the right liquids, such as shakes and high calorie drinks.....Sounds quite suspicious to me....I think they are wanting a huge loss to report
  8. Awe, Long, bless your heart!!! I am sorry the second surgery in such a short time, but it will be nice to not have the pain. Does the doc think that the gall bladder is because of the weight loss???
  9. The day I saw the surgeon they scheduled my appt for surery. I had two weeks from that date. I saw the dietician that day and got the two week pre op diet. I was self pay though, so that is why I went so fast.
  10. That is absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. JC, I know you will get a handle on this!!! You can and WILL do this!!! When the fill is at the right spot, it will come....you know this...hang in til then!!!! We miss you a lot!!
  12. Oh, I CAN'T wait!!!!! This is almost like Christmas as a eight year old!!!! I see JC lurking on here!!!! He better say hi!!!!
  13. Hi, Denise, welcome to LBT and good luck!!!
  14. Yeah you!!!! Good luck and you will do fine!!
  15. Oh boy, do I know where you're coming from!!! You are on the road to a great new beginning if you choose to do this!!! Good luck!!
  16. Welcome to LBT!!!! Hang around and enjoy!!
  17. oh yes, you are totally normal!!!! I think most people think it for awhile until they 1) start losing 2) are feeling much better from the surgery. I cried all the way home from the hospital the day after. I didn't know what I had done to myself, and why would my DH let me do it. I was much better about a week out, when I realized it was going to be okay, and that I was going to do just fine. Hang in there!!!!! You have done a great thing for yourself!!
  18. Amy, you win!! You get the prize!!! It is sooooo hard to cycle when you are heavy and you are doing it. Its really easy for people to say, just ignore it, but when it happens, it hurts. It hurts really bad, down deep. But, you are going to make it and one day, you will be cruising past one of those kids, and they will NOT be able to catch up to you!!! Good luck, and keep it up with the biking!!! I have bought five bikes just for myself in the last year!!!!! And thats not including the 7 we bought for hubby and daughter!!!
  19. J, definitely know what your saying. I can do the same thing, and do at times. Sometimes I justify it by saying, well, I burn a lot of calories riding my bike, so I NEED more food. Guess I don't since I am having a hard time losing. HP, we can think of these two nuts together, whilst we camp, and relax away.....
  20. To get rid of gas pain, get down on your hands and knees, put your forearms down on the ground and put your head down too, leaving your butt up in the air. This releases the gas out. I don't know why or how, but it does. I still do this if I get all gassed up and it still works. An ER doc told me to do this after I ended up in the ER after surgery from such bad pain, I thought I had a blood clot. They took a CAT scan and there was a huge gas bubble they could see. I went home and did it and it came right out!!! Pain gone!!! I can imagine it won't work for everyone or everytime, but you can try it!!
  21. Change up your walking. Walk up some hills, or walk faster. What about riding a bike? What about some swimming? Just some ideas....good luck to you!!
  22. J, good job on the pound lost!!! How do you do it? Do you eat a certain number of calories? I seem to sit at the same place for weeks, then drop a pound. Then sit at the same place for weeks again. Frankly, I am getting sick of it!!!!! One hint for you with the MB.....DON'T LOOK DOWN!!!!! So you guys sit right on the edge of going into the next age category, that is funny. Not funny as in ha ha, but funny as in weird. You are gonna be having so much fun, I doubt you notice when you fall off anything. Just kidding, I hope you don't fall off anything.
  23. Oh yeah it does!!! I am amazed almost daily at something I can do or WANT to do now!!
  24. You are so smart!!!! You have figured out what the problem was!!! That is the first step, now take the next and then the next and soon you will be right back doing what you were doing when you were losing!!!GOod luck!! You can do this!!
  25. Hey, I rented a carpet cleaning machine today. Got it at 10am, got home started cleaning, of course vaccuuming three rooms and one hallway. I was done at 1:30. That was three hours time. Now, for the NSV. It used to take me ALL DAY TO DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have to stop every few minutes and sit down and rest. Wow, am I impressed with this weight loss thing!!! I just can't believe that I am done and everything is cleaned up and ready to go back to the store......:rolleyes2::thumbup::tt2::thumbup::eek::thumbup::seeya:
