  2. Wow... I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. I had my surgery in MX and was very worried about having a distant surgeon. Mine has happily been very uneventful and my team has stayed in touch constantly even though it's in another country. I have seen many on here with staples for closing incisions. Mine were adhesive and healed super well. Call your DR time and time again if needed..... don't take no for an answer. He has a reputation to worry about so- you take care of you- I know your scared... this isn't like having a pedicure. Dr's sometimes have a bit of a GOD complex... they have to be kept humble yet confident. I hope it's just nothing... but if not.... I wish you all the best from my heart.
  3. Good job... I was sleeved 8/21 and I can't even believe I'm on the other side. 28 lbs down.....things are looking up and I've not had a moments trouble. I was worried in the beginning.....because I'd never been under general anesthesia. It was fine.... took me a couple hours to assimilate to the real world again. I went to MX and flew home the second day....no problems at all. You'll be at three weeks soon and you won't believe the difference. Glad you're doing so well..........we are on our way.

I was sleeved the day before you! Congrats on your new journey! I already made a very soft scrambled egg with cheese...it was wonderful, but don't be surprised you wont be able to eat much at all, I got like half down before my FULL signal went off. FULL is very uncomfortable huh? I'm pretty sure I'll never eat like others do and I'm glad for it....lol I just wish the next 6 months would hurry up and come and go.... I wanna see what I'm gonna look like!!!! ROFL
  5. I am one week out... was sleeved 8/21. I went back to work yesterday. It was a little push but I am not sore at all.... mostly I think it's being tired from not enough food. Literally.... remember by 4 days out you really haven't eaten anything to speak of unless you want to count popsicles and jello. My job is pretty sedate. I own a salon and am a nail tech. So I sit....I even have done two pedis. If your job is more demanding I'd take more time. Every surgery is unique....you might feel great.... you might feel terrible. Prepare for both. That way you will be covered.
  6. oh I'm "wanting" everything right now....but only 3 days post op. I do believe it's normal to not "trigger" the same as you used to. I think there may be different foods but you won't want much so it probably will not matter.
  7. unjury has a chicken soup flavored protein powder too...
  8. so besides shakes....what do you tolerate well? I'd try adding unflavored protein powder to it. Maybe yogurt? or crème soup? Just don't get the powder too hot. (140 degrees I think) if it gets too warm it'll clump...
  9. Wow...love your story...keep writing. My hubby and I enjoyed imagining what I may be going through this time in two weeks. I'm getting excited. Thanks for your perspective.... luck, love and prayers...
  10. Thank you for giving us a view into what it's going to be like. I love t read everyone's take on it. As far as your arm goes.....from what I've read, I think that may be the gas you were looking for. It can cause shoulder/arm pain. Good luck on your journey...it's going to be amazing!!!
  11. I understand your thoughts on this....and I LOVE "hateration" lol.....funny. I am hoping to have my own surgery soon and am dreading the comments from the peanut gallery also. I probably won't tell most people in my life except those closest.
