  1. Any good descriptions? I have 8cc/10cc VGB...I can still eat just about anything... Am I suppose to feel different? Rice gets stuck everytime but most everything else goes down too smooth.
  2. Any banders out there with a BMI of greater than 50 who have had success in reaching there goals? I have been on this "I should have had bypass" kick and I need to change that way of thinking. Look forward to hearing your stories. Also, any tips or links to easy meal ideas would be great. Thanks!
  3. Ji, My husband and I were banded exactly one month apart. We each needed that time to take care of each other. Even thought there is no real pain ( at least for us)...it was nice having someone to fluff your pillows. I went first. All I can say is I'm glad we BOTH decided to get this done. We thougfht about it for months! Good Luck to you! -Shoregirl
  4. Any stories of major weight loss and skin/ body parts that bounced back into place. I happen to be 38, and would like to hear from some people around my age who have some inspiration to share. Older people and people with greater than 200 pounds to lose will definately get a standing ovation in my book!!!! Good luck to everyone! Actually anyone willing to share their inspiring story...post away!!!!
  5. Hello Everyone, I had the surgery in April...I have lost 30 pounds since then.My doctor won't adjust me above 8cc/10cc band b/c he says I'm in my green zone. Is it wrong to want to strap 5 pound weights to each of my ankles and go in next week!!!!! I am wondering... Did anyone have a slow start at the beginning but finish strong? (hence tortoise/hare?) Anyone care to share their inspiring story about possibly fighting their demons in the beginning but evetually winning the race. (I coulde use the encouragement) Take Care Shoregirl :confused::confused::girl_hug:
  6. Hey Meltini, I know what you mean...I thought I would only be able to eat as much as a gastric bypass person...but that's not the case so far. It seems as if I don't have the control to stop. I was hoping this band would do that for me. Good Luck, Val
  7. thanks edieparks.... I think I am waiting for this band to magically start making me lose weight ... Val
  8. Will anyone share their story and (hopefully) happy ending.... I was banded on 4/3...haven't lost a pound. 1st fill was 5/4-4cc- i feel no restriction. I have a 10cc VG band I was told that the first 4cc of saline fill up mostly the tubing and band. I know this can work...I've seen it work but I am really having trouble putting this tool to good use. Is there anyone else out there who struggled with losing weight with the band? :help: Thanks, Val
  9. Hi! Has anyway used Dr. Onopchenko for their banding? i go on tuesday.
  10. txbecca I keep you in my prayers!
  11. Thank you for the encouragement Louise and Maudeispam. I'll let you know how it goes! Take Care, Val
  12. Hi Everyone, My Surgeon said I might have a hiatal hernia...the GI guy wasn't certain...has anyone had one? what causes it? Surgeon said he'll repair it while he's in there. Also, has anyway had a BMI of 50+ and had the surgery and was successful...I seem to see much lower BMI's. Be well
