Love these success stories! And I love my band, too. As you say, it is a tool but having that appetite monster off of our backs makes it easy to make good decisions. Here's to health and happiness. Thanks so much for posting -- makes my day to hear from other banders (we are a rarer and rarer breed these days).

Hi there and congratulations, welcome, etc. The plication people do very well -- I had not heard of it when I had my surgery in 2013 or I think I may have been interested. Weight Loss Surgery is such a great relief. I love having my hunger dimmed and being able to life my life in a whole new way -- wouldn't trade it for anything!

The WOO HOO heard round the world!!! It's done. I'm an ex!!
I spent four hours in a conference room before the trial negotiating with, for lack of a better word, the terrorist. We settled at 3pm and signed at 3:30pm. We avoided trial. The judge accepted our settlement and declared us divorced.
I fought for, and got, all of the provisions I wanted in the agreement, including taxes, tuition, insurance for the girls, and more. He didn't wear me down and I didn't give in on points my lawyer thought were tradable but I did not.
I have not felt this powerful in years. My new life has truly begun.
Thank you all for your support. I felt you with me today.

I got down to 175 briefly and wanted to lose another 10-20 (still not sure what will be ideal weight for me). Instead I promptly gained 12 or so pounds, which meant I needed to lose 25. That felt like "same old, same old" and I definitely wanted to nip that in the bud. I love my collar bones and hips -- and my size ten jeans, etc.! Friends (non-WLS) and spouse went on Whole30 program which is basically Protein and veggies, a little whole fruit, some nuts, etc. but easy on all that -- basically meat, fish, chicken and veg. It's how I need to be eating anyway and I have been able to get back on track for myself that way. Feels good. With a band it's really important to chew, chew, chew and to avoid slider foods. Of course it's easy to come to rely on those yummy things like yogurts, fancy cheeses, etc. Oh, and alcohol apparently does me no favors as far as the scale is concerned. Avoiding the constant wine & cheese party mode is very helpful. I am back in the jeans I had before and hopefully on my way to the next pair that are waiting.

Hi there -- a gorgeous Sunday morning. Just Watch Me, a finish line is finally finally in sight -- we will be thinking of you. That phrase "keep on keeping on" comes to mind. We are in the same weight range and I just looked back at your stats: 124 Pounds, WOW and WOW. Way to go! I would like to enter winter below 175 and work on the next ten pounds -- still not sure where I "should" end up as I am not a skinny-mini and don't want to be too thin. 165 could be the right ballpark for me. We are going on a beach trip and I just ordered up bathing suits to try on and send back what doesn't fit. It was something to go through all the sizing and try to pick out a flattering suit, but it was not emotionally painful. I am actually looking forward to their arrival and trying them on. Having fun clothes is definitely a huge benefit of weight loss.

Well Hellooooooooooooooo Lap Band Land! I haven't been her in a while, but, next Wednesday, September 29th I Celebrate FIVE years with my lapband! I am holding rock steady in the 130s! My highest weight was 218 and being only 5'1" I was miserable. I waited/contemplated many years about having weight loss surgery! I am so happy that I decided to jump into the unknown!
Never in my life would I have dreamed that I would be eating real butter, cheese, and balanced meals. I still say the band is a tool. You have to take care of it, respect it! I eat about half of what I use to before surgery. My choices are better. Actually nurturing my body has become a way of life. Protein up! Walk! Enjoy Food!
Did I mention my bloodwork is awesome? No more high blood pressure, rarely go to the doctor at all. Have not been to my lap band doctor in years. Love John Bagnato in Macon, Georgia! He is marvelous!
Looking forward to the next banniversary and the next and the next.....Will post new pictures soon! Change is good!
Everybody take care, take charge and above all Respect the Band!!!

Honestly...all you can do during such a stressful time is not go totally off the rails. Keep on with the support system(s) you have in place and know that we have your back as much as possible in this virtual world we are in.

Hi friends. I hope everyone is doing well with the change of seasons. My weight's been bouncing between 176-179 for a couple of months. I know that to lose the next chunk of weight will require even more f ood changes and/or exercise. I guess I'm just not willing to do that right now, but I'm pleased with the progress I made this summer.
Three weeks left until the divorce trial. And it looks like we will be going to trial. I've started house hunting. Such a daunting task. It's hard to "window shop" without a firm budget. But it will happen in due time. It's funny. I left so much stuff behind when I moved in with my mom. And I don't miss any of it. Wherever I end up, it will be sparsely furnished for quite awhile.
I've been soaking up support wherever I can. Therapy, 12-step meetings, c offee, d inner and outings with friends, podcasts, meditation tapes and spiritual readings. As stressed out as I am, I can't help but think how much worse it would be without all those positive things going on.
I've had bouts of insomnia recently, but a little better the last few days.
Anyway, that's where I'm at. Glad to have this group of fellow WLS travelers who understand the extra issues with f ood.

Hi Debbie, so sorry to hear you are suffering back and leg pain. I know how difficult it can be to find the right kind of medical care -- put those professionals to work and don't give up! We've lived in a thirty-year pain scenario for my husband, who was in a serious car accident a long time ago. He's had three huge surgeries (the last one he was in the hospital 24 days). That was four years ago and he now says his back is the best part of him. He has residual leg/food issues (that sciatic nerve does not kid around!) and wears a brace, but we are out of the woods and forever grateful. I was thinking of you the other day because we are going to a dance party next weekend. I'm so excited! My husband will dance a slow one with me if I'm lucky but I will dance all night and look forward to that. Hope things turn around for you soon! Best wishes.

Really rocking this Whole30 Program -- very focused on Protein and veg, which is of course the winning ticket. I've lost 9 pounds in 14 days and feel like I'm back in touch with my body the way I was in that first year banded.
Weather is absolutely gorgeous here. Julie, I so get that about the tourists! We have summer people here and we're always glad to see them gone.
Exercise has been good with lots of lakeside walking and now I am working to clean the basement in anticipation of the winter months when it's too cold and snowy to do that anymore. We have a Bowflex, treadmill and bike but it's a basement -- at least it will be clean down there. Working on better lighting next, and then I can take my laptop down there and get my workouts in no matter what. Winter requires strategy for me.
Hope you are all doing well and enjoying a beautiful autumn!
